DISCUSS BLACK FRIDAY THIS YEAR &

WIN AWESOME PRIZES & GIFT CARDS!

Here's how it works:

Through Monday, November 26th (at 11:59:59pm EST), every time you post in one of the Black Friday forums (such as this main Black Friday Discussion subforum, any of the store-specific subforums, Posted Black Friday Ads or Online Black Friday subforums) you'll earn one entry into the contest.

We're not going to require your posts to be a certain length to qualify or anything like that - we just want a lot of great discussion. We know there are times when a one-word reply is fine. All posts in all threads in these forums will count, including other contest threads.

Be aware that it's pretty obvious if someone is attempting to "game the system" by posting repeatedly to get more entries. If that happens, we will give you ONE warning via PM. If we see the behavior continuing, you will be disqualified from winning a gift card. I don't expect this to be an issue (it wasn't during the last few years), but I wanted to make it clear that myself and the mods will be watching for any abuse. Any member who is banned is obviously no longer eligible to win the contest either.

This includes posting multiple times in a row in a single thread when one post would be enough, replying to many threads with nothing but "thanks!", etc... as I said, it'll be obvious if anyone does this, so don't do it. There is plenty to discuss without having to cheat your way to more entries.

So create interesting threads, reply to other members' questions, give your opinions on everything that is being discussed. This is a discussion board - let's have some interesting discussion here!

On Tuesday, November 27th I will randomly select 5 winners from all eligible entries and you will win the prizes shown below:

1st Prize: Apple iPad 9.7" 32GB WiFi Tablet
2nd Prize: Nest Outdoor Smart Security Camera
3rd Prize: Amazon Kindle Paperwhite E-Reader
4th Prize: $100 Gift Card to the Retailer of Your Choice
5th Prize: $50 Gift Card to the Retailer of Your Choice

And as a benefit to those who were here early this year, all the posts in the forums up until now aside from the t-shirt club thread will also count towards this contest. Also look for opportunities to earn double entries as we get closer to Black Friday.

If you have any questions, feel free to PM me and I'll be happy to answer them.

Notice: this contest is not sponsored by or affiliated in any way with Apple, Amazon or Nest.

Yahoo, the weather is getting crisper and contests are starting on gotta deal. It must be Black Friday season :)

Send some of that cooler weather MY way, PLEASE. ;)  When the board "officially" opened up this morning I turned the A/C colder and made myself some hot apple cider! :) Not waiting on Mother Nature this year! ;)

Still in the 90s here! The nights are getting into the 70s, so at least there's that I guess. But I left the house without my sweater on, and haven't put it on yet, and even in the summer that's unusual for a work day! I do believe it is hotter here this week than it was a couple weeks ago.

Apparently I’m super excited that all the sub forums are open. My husband just interrupted me to tell me it’s too early to be humming “it’s the most wonderful time of the year”. [emoji15] I didn’t realize I was even humming ... but, I’m not wrong. The BF “season” is pretty wonderful!

One store off the BF list here in Texas is the Palais Royal store. The store suffered in sales and is liquidating all it's merchandise. However they were bought by Goodman's ??  This used to be our first stop every BF(wife always bought a pair of boots) and we enjoyed the $10.00 coupons and door prizes given each year. We used to see the same people every year in line because the employees did a good job making the hour before opening a festive atmosphere. Today the store sold everything left for $4.99 each so the wife and I just scored a bunch of clothes today to make up for the BF that we will miss there.

okay, so why my DD asked if she could call Santa early so her presents will get under the tree before Christmas eve.........I told her she still couldn't open them until Christmas but she is dead set on calling Santa this weekend to be at the top of the delivery list.

Oh, that's awesome!  I think I would be finding someone (call me if you need to :)), to play Santa for a few minutes to take that call!  :holiday12

So cute! Do you put gifts under the tree on Christmas Eve? I do, too! It's getting tougher tho lol This year, we've moved in an apartment so I no longer have the basement for storage after I've wrapped gifts. I want to keep the tradition going with putting gifts out after my DDs have gone to sleep, but I don't know if I'll be able to. Even my DD16 still gets excited waking up to gifts Christmas morning after going to bed to "nothing" and that excites me because you know sometimes the older they get, the Christmas spirit lessens. We'll see.

Right?! I have an extra day off from work this week, it’s not so hot today so I’m in the mood for fall decorations! Happening tomorrow!

I’m so excited to see all the sub forums and contests again!

I'm going to put up Halloween lights on the new house this year and am so happy the weather is cooling off!! Allergies are terrible here already and the fields haven't even come down.

Looking forward to everyone's holiday ideas!

I don't know where you live, but Meijers always has a sale on Thanksgiving morning for Apple Watches, when you buy one you get a $100 coupon good off your next trip to Meijers.Which makes the $300 watch $200 :)

My youngest turned 18 a few months ago and I will still wait until Christmas Eve to put the majority of the gifts under the tree...it's the excitement of going from nothing to an abundance for me...especially when they weren't expecting much...

My parents are wanting to buy Apple watches for each other this year. I keep telling them about gift card deals at Thanksgiving... But I'm not sure they are going to be willing to wait that long! Once they've decided to buy something, it's usually not long after they get it. Oh well.

A lot of times you can get those deals online then just pick it up in the store. It's what I did the year I bought my wife's Apple watch from Target. They emailed me the gift card , we went to the store to shop I grabbed the watch and put it in the car went back in to meet my wife then used the gift card for our shopping. :)

I found this number on line about 2 years ago and you leave Santa a message on his voicemail of the things you want for Christmas and it will email it to your parents or something like that. So that is what I might have her do this weekend. I guess thats what I get for watching the Christmas shop on QVC

Exactly. I have gotten creative. Hiding presents inside of the Christmas tree box, etc or just leaving them at work until the week before Christmas. My older 2 DD has always loved it. It is a long night for me but so worth it to see there smiling faces
