Elmck
Sometimes I like to know exactly what my older adult children want or need as well as their spouses. I try to save some of the budget for those things (not everything on the list) and throughout the year I pick up deals I think they will like or may have mentioned wanting or liking. The grandchildren (10) are all under 6 so they are easier to find deals for, but I always ask so I know what they are into and want. I do not want to be that relative or MIL that always gives the wrong thing. How about you?

Spotted1
No, I don't wait. If the girls are really into something and I see a good deal on it I will go ahead and snatch it up.
Bopeep
I can beg and plead for lists, but rarely get one. I always get "I'll be happy with whatever...". With the DIL, though, I can watch what she likes/posts on social media and try to pick those things up through the year.
berry1014
I do get wish lists by the end of Oct but by then I am usually 1/4 to 1/3 way done shopping. I do use their wish lists for the pre black friday and black friday sales.

julz0420
With Luke no list is really needed, but he's 5 so lol With Madison, I beg for a list. Sometimes I get one or she just says she doesnt know. No list for dh cause I already know what he likes/wants I do sometimes as the inlaws or sometimes we find something we know they will love without even having to ask. jesusluvu
No, I buy small things but I do get a list. I make them sit down and write it when the first toy books start coming out and they can add to it up until Thanksgiving. Now that they have gotten older ( well 2 of them ) They want things that is hard for me to spell like ( APPLE, CAR, ETC ) but a list is good so that you know exactly what they want. HanShotFirst
I would love to have lists from my family. They are so hard to buy for. We just found a great deal on wireless earbuds at Best Buy and that's the one thing my sister, mother and I all wanted. After that I'm clueless and probably will be until December! Ugh

msyves
I don't wait for a list. I purchase little items that I find on Gotta Deal. Once I do get a list I then look again here.
AndreaInNC
When my kids were younger, I'd work off their list. But they were also told that once their list was submitted .. they couldn't go back and add or take things off. That's the trouble with lists and ads. Once the holiday commericals start playing - their lists would always need to be updated.
dakotadenise
I make my kids write up a list. I usually get 1/2 from the list and then 1/2 surprise items that I think they would like and/or need. As for extended family, I start a private facebook group every year where we draw names and then post our wishlists. Works out great.
tracy0504
My kids are 23, 22 (Oct 11) and 16...I still get unwritten lists or text messages with pictures...I try to get everything on their list as my money will allow as I do not buy them that much (other than school clothes for my 16 yo) throughout the year... budgetsRsexy
We do lists in my family but it's more a guide to help with ideas for the adults. Sometimes you get exactly what was on the list and other times people deviate a little (or a lot, but it usually turns out to be something you just didn't know you wanted [emoji12]). This year I'm struggling to come up with things to put on my own list [emoji15] (never thought I'd see the day where I couldn't come up with a wish list!)
