hockeyfanamo Posted October 21, 2014 Posted October 21, 2014 I normally go by myself unless I can convince one of my local friends to go. Otherwise it is me, myself, and I!
misstaken Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My husband always goes with me. Maybe it's a bit strange, but it's the one day/night of the year that we can be together just us (and a million other people) and spend some crazy fun moments together. We always stop for coffee first and then hit the lines. It sounds nuts, but we work opposite shifts and don't get much time together without the kids around so we'll take it!
len_mullen Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I shop alone, yeahWith nobody elseI shop alone, yeahWith nobody elseYou know when I bust down doorsI prefer to be by myself One year I shopped with my sister. We started at Kohls. Standing at the front of the store, with all my loot bagged up, I saw her pushing a cart past. It was still empty. She waved that 'one minute' finger at me as she headed to the back of the store. We still shop at the same time...in different cars. 2
tyreejames Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My best friend and I used to meet up in line @ TRU and then go our separate ways. Now our first store doesn't always sync up so we keep up with each other via texting. Now I just head out alone.
gemini73 Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Me and my mom. Then later on my husband. We try to get the kids out so they can purchase small gift for ppl on their list.
queenkishaa Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 I go out alone. I seem to get more done in a short amount of time.
Pepper_Mint_Tea Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 My Brother & I. no one else gets it, so we go out & take on the BF adventure
riven3d Posted October 22, 2014 Posted October 22, 2014 Used to shop by myself was so much easier but last year I took my DD 13 at that time because of the sales starting so early she loved it and can't wait to go this year as she will have her own money to spend this time
okannie Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 My oldest son and daughter-in-law go with me...my son is 6ft. 4in. tall so he can reach into the crowd an pluck out what we are after...my DIL is small so she can squeeze into the small spaces and grab stuff....it is great fun to score all our treasures...
kboyts Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 I normally head out around 3am then my wife meets me around 9ish.
crashcartjockey Posted October 23, 2014 Posted October 23, 2014 When I first started doing this it was at the Post Exchange store at Fort Polk, LA in 1994. I brought my then wife and our two kids. It opened at 7 am and there was about 10 people in line. After I got out of the Army in 1997, I went solo for about 5 years. In 2003 I brought my new wife for her first time. In 2008, my 17 year old daughter joined us and has been hooked since.
momof3luvs1 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 My best friend and I....I make a wonderful huge family Thanksgiving. We enjoy the day with the whole family. after dinner and dessert and family time I get the kids ready for bed and then I used to get a few lovely hours of sleep but now we head out after the kids are sleeping.
Bree9311 Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 It's just my sister and I this year. My mom really can't walk too good. now so we usually get the things she wants.
connieh Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I used to shop alone, but now my husband enjoys shopping with me on this busiest shopping day of the year.
delphernina Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 One year I shopped with my sister. We started at Kohls. Standing at the front of the store, with all my loot bagged up, I saw her pushing a cart past. It was still empty. She waved that 'one minute' finger at me as she headed to the back of the store. We still shop at the same time...in different cars. I would kill her. I shop with my husband. I really look forward to going shopping with him and kind of consider this "bonding" time. I would be so bored and lonely if I went without him. After we shop we come home and wrap everything and have it put under the tree and call our Christmas shopping DONE.
cab0ad Posted October 26, 2014 Posted October 26, 2014 I bring no one! I do not want anyone getting in my way or slowing me down!
bribri25 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 It's always just myself. My wife has to work on Friday so I'm the only one that can go out while she's home with the sleeping kiddos. I usually go back out with them to petsmart and other low key stores. Many times a helping hand would have been nice but likely slow me down a bit too.
2bauer4 Posted October 27, 2014 Posted October 27, 2014 My wife and I go together. She is a trooper to go along with all of the electronics purchase. Then I will get up early Friday and hit Home Depot and get her and my son later for another store or two.
TazErase Posted October 29, 2014 Posted October 29, 2014 Used to be just me, then my wife joined a few years later. Now my son and daught go as well, and sometimes my nephew or some friends will join us.
jtitus2014 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 My husband and any friends that I can get to go with me. Usually it is just my husband and myself though.
1angelnhvn Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 My mom and I go. Last year my two daughters decided they wanted to go and loved it. It was fun and we could send them after stuff we couldn't get to. Some years my grandmas went with us as well but they couldn't keep up with the pace and gave up.
catholicbride11 Posted October 30, 2014 Posted October 30, 2014 myself, my mom and my husband. I'd happily add more to my team but none of my friends really "get" it or they do stuff with their own family. We have our shopping down to an art and work together well so it's probably for the best.
smoore11506 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 My bestie and her sister! We try to avoid others that we know would slow us down.....LOL. Sad, but true!
blessedmamax7 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I usually take my oldest daughter but not sure this year as she is on call for the crisis center. So might be going it alone which I used to do when she was small...But how will I get my towels and kid pajamas????LOL
tubemonkey Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I take no one, because I do all of my shopping on my computer.
min0812 Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Me & my bro....I do not give him a choice. LOL
abentley Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 Oh how the people I shop with have changed! I used to shop with a friend, but she couldn't handle the pressure of the people. My daughter has moved out of state, so this year it will be with my 16&17 year old boys. They seem to enjoy it, and are happy to help!
myboysnme Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 I like to be by myself, but my mom will be here this year so she may want to go someplace.
Spotted1 Posted November 22, 2014 Posted November 22, 2014 My husband goes along. I can't drive, so I need him to chauffeur me. But he also makes an effort to cut through crowds and get to things that I probably couldn't get to on my own while I go after less eventful items on the list that are less likely to have crowds.
