This year, dd16 is going to a new high school. It's a small school with 174 students. It's a public school serving any student within the city of Milwaukee. The teachers and administrators started this school as a safe place for LGBT and any other student who may not fit into a traditional school environment for whatever reason. The staff makes amazing things happen everyday for kids that might not have any support anywhere else. The school is a public school, but gets little funding from the city. All school supplies are donated and purchased by teachers, the school nurse is paid for through donations, etc. The LGBT community has been very generous in their support of our little school and we are very lucky. This year, we're starting a Christmas fund for students that don't get gifts at home. We just provided a community potluck Thanksgiving for students and their friends/family. So many of these kids have been hurt by other kids and even their own families in the past. We want to help the school continue to provide the family atmosphere that they have. I <3 this school, it's amazing and it's the best thing that has happened for dd in a long time!

I was there last night. There are quite a few items that are already on sale for the BF price. The cabin socks, the Columbia Simply Snowy Women's jackets, the Osito North Face jackets, and some of the boots. So, if this is a place that you need to go on BF, you might want to go ahead and check it out now!

Now that we have an Amazon fulfillment facility in Wisconsin, this will most likely happen with them too. We already have to pay sales tax for Amazon orders now.

Are these deals going to be available only on BF or can we get them when they are announced? I'm a little confused.

Will probably stop by to check out the boots. Can't ever have too many boots, especially at 50% off!

Maybe I need to get a redcard. I don't shop at Target very often but for BF, might be worth it!

It most likely won't last too long if they strike here. It's just too cold out. I'm all for the employees' rights to demonstrate as long as they don't create an unsafe situation for customers. They have the right to demand whatever they want, just as their employer has the right to make the best business decision for their company. Our city recently voted to increase minimum wage to $10.10/hour. I would imagine that's as close as they're going to get to what they're asking for.

I'm notorious for sticking random items from around the house into stockings. I never remember to buy the "regular" stocking stuffer things! So, the kids and dh get weird things like: fruit snacks, fruit, snack bags of chips, leftover Halloween candy, soda, juice boxes, change, sample size stuff I get in the mail, magnets, promotional items with random companies logos on it, unused items from sets of cologne or beauty items, packs of tissues, band aids, pencils/pens, etc. You never know what I will find. It's kind of become a family tradition at this point.

We've always done the Christmas pickle too. I got one as a teenager for my parents' tree and when I moved out on my own, the pickle came with! It's the only glass ornament on the tree that the cats haven't broken. Yet.

In the past I've been able to get all of my shopping done just on BF. But that was back when the kids were little and didn't have very specific gift requests. I don't shop throughout the year either, though every year I tell myself that I need to start doing that!

This was the last one I was waiting for. For me, GameStop probably won't be a consideration this year. That's ok, found what we need at a couple of other stores!

Still waiting for Gamestop here too. Otherwise, will most likely hit Target, Walmart, Walgreens and Michaels….in no particular order at this point. There is nothing that is on the list worth a long line wait at our house this year so it looks like it's going to be a nice leisurely Black Friday trip for once!

I will be completing shopping this weekend. One of the main things that I want to get for my SS is something that I don't know much about though, so I'm not sure if it goes on sale on BF or not. I think I'm just going to go ahead and get it now, just in case. One of the best parts about SS is learning about things to do or collect that you've never heard of before!

For serious cartoonists and anime artists, a HUGE set of Copic markers! It's got 72 colors plus a storage box and a blender pen. These are high quality professional ink sketch markers. My ds13 has been after these for over a year. He normally works in inks but is tired of the mess and smearing that goes along with that. So, the answer is Copic markers. I noticed that there are quite a few deals that weren't early access. I wonder what the criteria for certain deals getting chosen for early access and others being all access are. Seems kind of random. Anyway, I'm not a big lightning deal buyer so this particular perk of membership probably isn't going to excite me much. All of the things I need from Amazon are super specific art supplies and of course, never really go on sale. Bummer.
