ChristmasShopping
BF and I got into a conversation last night about Christmas and Christmas spending. I plan on buying less gifts but spending more money because I am getting (hopefully) bigger ticket items this year.
berry1014
We will be spending about the same but will be getting less over all as some of the items wanted are more money.
angelbabymommy
I plan on spending about the same, but I hope I spend less lol...dd10's big gift will be a kindle fire & dd4's will be an innotab2. The other stuff will just be random small/medium gifts.
Elmck
A little more. But just because I have a few more people on my list
bluebear
Probably less, out of neccessity since my husband changed jobs. But that's probably good, since I usually spent waaaay too much anyway ($1000 each x3 kids). The kids aren't asking for much, really just a couple things each, and my mom will get one of those. Assuming I can pull of those big gifts, then just a couple more little things. Which I hate because I like giving them stuff. Oh well, I keep telling myself will be less clutter. momof3luvs1
Im hoping to spend less but I do have quite a bit more people on the list this year so hoping to at least break even about the same as last year...
mrsjackrabbit
we will probably be spending less. the past few years we have done a trip over christmas or shortly after the holiday. no trip planned = less money spent this year, which i should be happy about. but, im really hoping we can plan a trip within the next few weeks! tinkrbel
I'm hoping to spend less but that'll depend on mother. She seems to have a different approach to gifts recently preferring to give gift cards which will really dent the "budget".
abentley
I told myself taking all the kids/spuses/gf would be their gifts.......WRONG! I have to have gifts to open too! Looks like i will be spending more.
momlori
Probably about the same or a little less. DH wants to cut back (bah humbug)
starbeck96
I hope to be spending more, but it really just depends on my husband's work since he is self employed. My kids lists are pretty short but they are what I consider, a little more expensive. The boys, age 14, both want a smartphone (about 220.00 each after tax and protection plan). My daughter, age 6, wants a tablet, so we are getting her the Nabi tablet. It is 200.00 and hopefully we can order through Amazon so we don't have to pay tax. I also hope to get them a basketball goal for them. I will also spend at least another 50.00 on each child. I am hoping that I can get the boys 3 months of minutes each (we use straighttalk), but it depends on how his work is.. We are starting earlier this year though so that will help. Spotted1
I'm going to aim for about the same, but I know realistically there's going to be a little bit of a cut back because I have to prepare for a new baby that will be here early December, too. cRabago
I am going to try to spend less , but as it stands probably won't!!! I have an 18 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son son and its a big jump in ages and gifts... I did however find a tablet for my son for him to play games on so he will quit taking over my cell everyday! Walmart.com, 7in. tablet $49.98. Great Deal! no bells or whistles but its better than $200 for the Nabi tab that I was Initially looking at. peppysfireball
I grabbed 2 of those Pandigital tablets for my grandkids 2 weeks ago when they showed up on here as a new walmart markdown. I had bought my grandson one in April as a refurbished one sale a day offer. My grandson loved. it. Be sure and get the 5.00 accident insurance. My grandson broke his pretty quick and he is 10. My own kids are getting fires, I wouldn't buy these for my own kids, but they were good presents for my grandkids. Cnet gave them very good reviews. IT said they were the best of the low price tablets. My youngest has a fire and loves it, I knew my grandson would love a tablet. Our school is switching over entirely to tablets next year, my grandkids school already is, so my 6 and 8 year old granddaughters are thrilled to get tablets for xmas. But they said they have to have skins with hearts on them, they don't want plain white tablets, so I'm buying decalgirl skins and pretty cases. My husband is in construction and has been off work about 5 weeks now, but I have a xmas club with about 800 in it to use on my kids big gifts, I pick up the small stuff on the side. I will spend the same probably. I refuse to skimp on xmas. I have a new baby granddaughter and she's getting a new carseat and some gorgeous clothes. I am going to try to spend less , but as it stands probably won't!!! I have an 18 yr old daughter and 4 yr old son son and its a big jump in ages and gifts... mcapel4444
Definately spending less this year. We taking a big whole family vacation to Disneyland, the week of Thanksgiving. And I bought Season Passes for my kids, my mom & my niece and nephew for Six Flags for next year. So everyone agreed on cutting back.
bpr
Less, but only because we don't have any big ticket items we are looking for (got the 3D HDTV last year ).

Erdica
We use cash to pay for everything for Christmas (unless it's online then we use our check card). We have had the same budget for the last 3 years and I don't think that will change this year. So far we have been able to get everything on "want" lists. deanabrown
My goal is to spend less and make smarter purchases. I'm cutting down on the toys for my son as he doesn't play with all the toys we have previously bought him.
