momof3luvs1
Was just curious who has started shopping already and who waits until BF? I lived in a small apartment most of my life in NY so I always waited until BF and power shopped ALL weekend. Since I moved to Florida and have a house with actual storage space I have started to shop year round when I get great deals. I thought this would save me loads of money and I wouldnt feel the holiday crunch. However, I always seem to break even money wise as I did before. Not sure if I just buy more now since I lose track shopping all year or since kids are getting older things are more expensive?
nicole20
I normally do wait to start shopping until black friday...however this year money is a little tighter for me so i decided i would go ahead and each week buy for one person on my list. I have ten nieces and nephews to buy for so i decided to start with them. hopefully buy the time black friday rolls around i will only have my two kids left to buy for...thats the plan anyway! firegirl719
Every year I say I'm going to start buying BEFORE BF, but that never happens. lol. Shopping isn't the same any other time of year. It's just not as fun!
jade2002
I start my holiday shopping for the following year the day after Christmas.
speeddiva
I've picked up a few things for the kids but most of what they want are video games that don't get released until Oct/Nov.
sweetdiggity
I purchased a few things at after Christmas sales last year and have only bought one video game this year for my little bro. That's it so far. Unless a sweet deal comes up, I'll be waiting until BF sales start...and early BF sales, too, of course!
Elmck
I've picked a few things like clothes or shoes for my older grown kids. I also have my nephew done for toys thanks to Target. I also buy stocking stuffers throughout the year. I probably do about 85% of my shopping on BF. Considering buying the Wii fit plus at Buy.com today
noehlp
Good question. I have a couple of items, both video games that I got very good deals on! I don't stock up on toys like I used to prior to '08; not sure I ever will again.
starbeck96
I have done a little bit of my Christmas shopping already. Family dollar had the Littlest pet shop for 5.00. It had two pets and a ton of accessories. These normally sell at Walmart for 10 or more, so I went ahead and picked up a few for my daughter. I have bought my niece a couple of things also. My daughter's bday is in October so I don't usually start getting serious about christmas shopping until after her bday. I do about 85-90% of my shopping BF and BF presales. I love the Walmart secret saturday sales and hope they continue that. I believe that the deals on their TV's then were as good if not better than BF. hockeyfanamo
I'm finished with one niece and have some items bought for DH. I'm picking up a little at a time since I'm not sure of my work schedule for Black Friday.
Elmck
Decided to go ahead and buy the the wii fit plus with balance board for one of DD's Christmas presents. It seems like a good deal and I realized I won't have as many shoppers this year as in years past so it will be harder to get everything. Now I need a great deal on the Wii. tinkrbel
We also start after Xmas and I don't think we'll need much this year at all except more clothes for my cousins if we go that route again. We have any outdoor stuff to take care of them but it's kind of tradition they get clothes so I'm not sure if we'll change it up. My mom saw me re-organizing stuff ad starting a list of who is getting what and got a little freaked out asking me if I was going to leave it out and wrap it ALREADY:P

aleighc1
Yes, but barely. I really need to get going on it though because I'm due to have a baby right around Thanksgiving, and I want to have a good majority of it done by then. Any BF shopping I do will be online only. Buckeye Shopper
I haven't bought anything yet. I usually buy my first gift around this time of year, but I really have no idea what to get everyone this year. My kids are moving out of the toy age, and it's getting a little depressing. My daughter still likes barbies and american girl things, but beyond that I really don't know.
ogadoga
I've already started my shopping. By the time BF comes I'm usually just about done.
AndreaInNC
As my kids get older and their wants/needs get smaller, I find myself shopping less in advance. When they were younger, I would normally have the majority of my shopping already done come September. I miss Christmas shopping!
momlori
I have started on christmas stocking items as I have 13 stocking I fill. Everything else will wait until BF
Gporter34
First of all, it's great to be back for another fun-filled holiday season here at GD! I always wait until BF to start, however, this year is the exception. It's our first grandbaby's first Christmas and she will be 11 months old on Christmas. We are finding it hard to restrain ourselves everytime we find something we think she would like, so, we have started shopping already, lol. The kids are all older now and their items on their lists are fewer, but more expensive so I am going to try to have most of their's done and shop for Hubby and me on BF this year! I hope everyone has a great season and to all of the "newbies"...WELCOME! It's wonderful here!
AudreyNicole
I have started picking up a few things here and there, and have a layaway at Kmart. It's hard for me to shop too early because my oldest son changes his mind at the last minute...

SuggaD
Wasn't planning to start early, but just did! Picked up 2 lego sets from TRU (Bogo). I may get a couple more small items for DD, but I these will be her 2 big gifts. Going to be a smaller Christmas this year. Too much unused gifts piling up at home. fluffkin79
We haven't drawn names for the family exchange yet. Those are the people I usually end up shopping for on BF. Well, for them and for myself! My kids are (hopefully) done thanks to Target's toy clearance and clothing clearance from various stores. I have plenty to give them, but may still need to pick up a "it's-so-great-I-just-gotta-have-it-gift", especially for my oldest who is getting older and pickier. I just found my mother-in-law's gift last week. She metioned something that she wanted to get, and the next day I saw it on clearance at Target. It was only 30% off, but it seemed destined to be hers.
