I can't wait either! I told DH that we were going to the super walmart the day after Christmas (it's abotu 45 minutes away). My aunt sent us a walmart gift card, and I'm planning on putting a dent into next year's gifts!

I'm almost done with shopping (just need a few more stocking stuffers), mostly done with wrapping and almost done with baking. Since it's just the three of us, I don't have to bake too much (thank goodness!) All of the presents for our family have been bought, wrapped and shipped! So no worries there.

heh, she refuses to speak to me because I took my mom's side on something she did this past spring. Last Christmas, after the card fiasco, I told her she should have come over and celebrated Christmas with us. She didn't need to bring gifts, Christmas to our family has always been about spending time together rather than exchanging presents (mainly because we never had money growing up heh). She blew me off completely, gave some excuse about spending time with her boyfriend and his mother, and said she knew she really wasn't wanted there (which wasn't true, despite everything she had done in the past, she would have been truly welcome). I think I'm going to send her a very nice thank you card after Christmas and see how it goes from there. Maybe she finally is growing up, I can only hope so!

My youngest sister (21) sent DH a message tonight to "expect a package in the mail by saturday". Now, I haven't spoken to my sister in almost a year and she has made it quite clear that her "friends" are more important than her family. My mom went through a tough time this past summer, and my sister only made it worse. Last Christmas, she sent everyone a card saying "sorry I f'ed up your christmas". So, I talked with my other sister agreed we were not buying anything for our sister because of the crap she's pulled in the past. Now I'm torn, should I send something up for my mom to give to her from us just because she sent something here? I obviously love my sister, but really don't like her one single bit. I keep hoping she'll grow up one of these days, but something tells me that her sending gifts is just her way of getting presents herself (yes, she's definately like that).

Just made 3 dozen peanut butter, 3 dozen peanut butter w/ hershey kisses and a dozen snicker cookies. The look on Dh's face when I took the snicker cookies out of the oven was priceless.. said "geeze hon, you should have told me to save room for those!" Ah well, they MAY last a day or so around here

It won't let me use the $5 off $35 code (it puts the stuff back at regular prices), but for $56 shipped for these two items is amazing! Plus I've always had great turnaround with shipping from these guys... regular shipping gets here to Alaska in 2 days!!

I did this year... all DS wanted was a lego train and train station. Of course, after I said "Are those the only two things you REALLY want?" He told me "well, I wouldn't mind getting an XBOX 360 or a 4-wheeler". Legos it is this year

I don't do it with my kiddo, but I do with DH I bought him a zune and SWORE to myself I wouldn't tell him. I think I made it a whole 2 days before I broke down and told him. He was sitting with me when I ordered his remote controlled snow mobile, so no surprise there...

So, my SIL is leaving for Iraq within the next two weeks and will miss christmas. She asked me to NOT send her anything right now (because she'll be packing up her house) and instead asked for care packages through out the year. DH and I were talking about it today, and we decided to send 12 different boxes (one a month). So, should I do themed packages? I didn't want to just throw random stuff in the box, but I also know that spaces is going to be somewhat limited. You'd think I'd be used to sending care packages, but when it's your SIL instead of your DH, it's a lot harder *laughs*. Besides, I doubt she'd enjoy half the stuff I sent hubby while he was gone

We won't be shopping at Radio Shack anytime soon... We got there about 530, was 3rd in line (we wanted the Zune) and figured if they had them, we'd be good to get one! WRONG! The first couple in the line bought SIX of them (and what bothered me most was the fact they asked the sales associated to hold them behind the counter for them), and a guy 3 places behind us bought 2 (he cut in front of a bunch of people). Of course, the store only had 8 total. DH was ticked off, we ended up walking out and went over to ACE hardware.

I bought an 18lb turkey the other day, it's more than enough for me, DH and DS. I figure by the time we're done eating turkey, we won't want anymore until next thanksgiving

We got our first snowfall last week, but still have a ton of leaves on the ground that need raking! At least it's not suppose to snow for halloween here, I'm not sure the kiddo's costume would fit over his snowsuit

Coffee-Mate has their Eggnog, Gingerbread, Pumpkin Spice and Peppermint Mocha flavors out now! I almost did a little dance in front of the cooler when getting my peppermint mocha. DH was just shaking his head...

Has anyone gone to this store on BF? I know there's some in the northwest part of the country (as well as here in AK) but have never seen an ad for Black Friday before on here. Just wondering what I can expect there!

my DS9 still does... I think we're going to take a trip to the North Pole this year (North Pole Alaska that is...) to see the Santa Claus House. Maybe that'll extend the belief for a while

awwww man I've been waiting for pumpkin and the peppermint flavors to come out. I'll have to go check the store to see if we have the Pumpkin Pie yet!

I was going through my christmas boxes (to see what I had already purchased vs. what I still need to get) and ran across 2 of DH's christmas presents from LAST year that I misplaced! I'm half tempted to wrap them now and give them to him tonight

we went a few years ago and it rained almost the whole time we were there! So, I'd definately do it again so I could enjoy everything while dry Although, I really enjoyed going to the different resorts and seeing how they were decorated. The Grand Floridian's gingerbread house is my favorite!

I *really* wanted to take DH last year while we were in Albany, but couldn't, because we weren't sure if he'd make it home for the show. Now that we're in Alaska, I think it'll be a long while until we're finally able to see it.

We haven't had a white Christmas in.... well, I'm not sure how long! But now that we're in Alaska, we'll probably have a white Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years, and Easter! Good thing I like snow!

I'm kinda torn on BF this year. Since we moved to Alaska, I know we're not going to get the same great deals y'all get in the lower 48. But, I suppose any good deal is better than no deal at all!

I love NORAD Santa tracking! Every year, my son asks to see "where santa is now". Actually, for the first few years we've been viewing it, I think *I* have had more fun watching it than he has!
