We've been doing one every year I've been there. We draw names just before Thanksgiving break then have our exchange the last day before Christmas break. Since there are only 7 of us, chances of getting a name you've already had are pretty good. We normally just write our name on a piece of paper and some things we like. That's still pretty tough, especially since we have 2 new workers this year, not really knowing them yet or what they're into. So I took our Secret Santa questionnaire and made a few changes to that and will suggest using that this year. Knowing their favorite candy or snack will make it easier for leaving little things for them through the week. Do you have an exchange where you work and how do you do it? I'm always looking for a way to change ours up.

I'll probably get my fall stuff out this weekend. Christmas decorating will most likely be after Thanksgiving.

Looking for suggestions on security cameras that you don't have to subscribe to. We have a Uniden wired set but aren't really satisfied with it. We had a Blink but after a certain amount of time you had to pay a monthly fee to be able to record any type of movement. It was the same one my sister has (who doesn't pay a monthly subscription), but since we bought ours after a certain date we had to pay a monthly fee. We aren't tech-y people so something relatively easy to set up and use.

As always, I don't really have a budget. I usually put money away, either in a Christmas Club account or just a certain amount in an envelope weekly, but haven't done either of those things this year. I do have more hours at work this year and am making more money so, at least till Christmas, I'm putting the difference between this school year and last school year in an envelope and will use that. I've already been buying things for Christmas whenever I see a good deal so I don't do all my shopping at one specified time, eg. Black Friday. I will still go out that day though because it has been a tradition for more than 20 years now.

I can honestly say I've never seen Miracle on 34th Street. I hear a lot of people say they like it, I've just never sat down to watch it.

I can't put mine in order of favorites because I love them all. Christmas Vacation Elf A House Without a Christmas Tree Home Alone A Christmas Story (although watching just once or twice during their 24-hour marathon is enough for me) I also like the Christmas cartoons they show every year...Charlie Brown, Frosty, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer...all of them!

Another hot & humid week ahead for us here in NW Ohio. Not looking forward to going back to work in a couple weeks when school starts. I love having my summers off!

We rolled back into home about 3:00 this morning from vacationing in Florida. I was so sad to leave there but we did have a nice, relaxing time while we were there. Happy Independence Day!!

Thanks for your concern! I have a prescription for a high dose of vitamin D that I take once a week for several weeks, then back down to 2000 units daily. I can't wait to start feeling better! The doctor was surprised that my level was so low.

Florida must be the vacation spot this year. We're making plans to head there at the end of this month. The beach truly is my happy place!

This is my first year of having prime during this sale so I've never really checked it out. Are their sales really that great? Just wondering.

Thank you for the advice. I didn't know there could be major problems like that with taking too much. I'm glad you told me so I don't just start taking supplements on my own and get too much. I do have a call in to my doctor, just waiting to hear back.

I think I figured out why my thyroid medication doesn't seem to be making a difference. Our local Kiwannis had a health fair the beginning of this month and hubby and I had our blood drawn and different tests were run. I paid extra for a vitamin D test and was shocked at the results. My number was 10 and the normal range is 20-30! I'm going to check with my endocrinologist about taking vitamin D and see if he thinks I should continue with my thyroid meds (my numbers are off on my thyroid so I don't know if I will still take that medication also). I'm so ready to start feeling better, especially since I'm off work for the summer.

Happy May! I only have 15 days of school left for this year. I can’t believe how fast the school year has flown! We’ve been “in person” since day 1 back in August & have done really well.
