Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2011
fluffkin79 replied to Brad's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Does your Target have the carts with the extra seats for kids? I have taken all 3 of mine and had 2 in the "kid cart" attachment and the infant carrier on top of the seat part on the cart (my carrier snapped on to carts pretty securely). -

Is it just me or does this week seem too soon? Is there a list of past dates around anywhere? -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2011

90% off in Stongsville today (maybe it went yesterday - I didn't check). Pretty small selection - part of the back wall and an endcap near automotive. I was hoping to find tape, goldfish, books, and PJs but no luck. I did find cookies w/ icing (.99), cookie cutters (.69), Wonka exceptionals peppermint shortbread (.29), Wonka sweet-tart book (.??), 20-ct goodie bags (.19), Dora sticker book (.29?), and - in the regular aisle - pop-up tape dispensers (.20) and refills (.20). There were still some onaments, stocking, candy canes and ribbons left but we don't need them. It was surprisingly well organized and there weren't a bunch of broken/open things laying around. -
I went back for more. After finding Christmas shirts at the second store for 4 out of 5 people in my family, I decided to go back to the first store (Stongsville) and pick up that Christmas shirt they had in DS's size. Of course they were gone when I went back, but they must have put more stuff out. (Or maybe I just missed it the first time - this clearance section is huge) So I didn't get the one I went back for, but that is just fine because I found 4 more that I didn't see before. They had Garanimals Christmas-themed "layered" long-sleeve shirts for .75 (infant/toddler sizes) and Licensed Long-Sleeve "layered" T's for $1.25 (infant/toddler sizes). As for the Licensed ones I got Thomas and Toy Story, but there were also Peanuts and some girl's ones. I also found boys 4-16 How to Train Your Dragon PJ sets (pants, T, and cape) for $1. Thanks, Walmart, for filling in my DS's wardrobe at cheaper-than-garage-sale prices!

This is Walmart, so YMMV. I visited 2 stores yesterday and at both stores (Stongsville and Parma, OH) the lawn and garden section had tons of clothing clearance. Some is barely marked down, others are maked at $1. It seems that they have pulled out some things that were moved out of the way for the season and have now put them out really cheap. Then they added in some of the more recent clearance, which isn't so cheap. I found plain white swoop-neck T's (girls 4-16) and boy's (4-16) Toy Story, How to Train Your Dragon, and The Last Airbender graphic T's for $1. Strongsville also had Boy's long-sleeve dress shirts (up to 4t) for $1. Christmas shirts (adult and child) were marked 50% but scanned 75% off making them $1.50 - $2.50. I also picked up boys short sets, a 3-pc Toy Story PJ set, and sandals for $3 each.

I visited 2 Walmarts yesterday. I picked up several stocking stuffers and stuff for class goody bags for next year. There were a lot of boxed ornaments left, but I didn't see any big items like trees, very few lights, and almost no wrapping paper. Of course, this being Walmart, several of the items I wanted to purchase weren't marked down in the system. They do this every holiday - every time I have tried to buy a cartload of holiday merchandise there have been items that weren't ringing correctly. Yesterday the Dora watch in a candy cane package ($5), Christmas 12 -count activity books ($2), Christmas yo-yo ($1), and Disney Lip gloss sets ($5) all rang up full price. The cashier didn't want to change any of it, but was told to override. Lucky for me the woman in charge of holiday clearance was working the next register and told her they should be marked down. They all had holiday packaging except the lip gloss - of which there were several boxes full right above a 75% off sign.

Did Target have kid's Christmas clothes this year? If so, what do they look like? I didn't see any in the holiday section yesterday and didn't have time to look through the regular clothing section. -
I took DD7 shopping with me on Dec. 23. She dicovered spinbrush toothbrushes and just HAD to have one. I let her know that my shopping was done and it was too late to be adding anything to the list. Fortunatly Santa must have had some lying around, because there was one in her stocking on Christmas morning. DD7 and DD5 each got one and they were pretty excited about it. I had to keep kicking them out of the bathroom yesterday because they wouldn't stop brushing thier teeth!

So now that the gifts have been given, which ones were the biggest hits? For us the biggest hit was MIL's Wii. She's been wanting it for a couple years, but wasn't expecting to get one. The kids haven't had a whole lot of time to inspect their new stuff yet, but the first thing they chose to play with was paint-your-own "piggy" banks ($5.99, Kmart). DS4 can't keep his hands off his new fire truck or sunglasses. I'm enjoying the cheap years while they last.

What Are Your Kids Getting In Their Stockings This Year?
fluffkin79 replied to SuggaD's topic in 2010
Coal? It's been a rough day! Nothing unique here: DVDs, ornament, chapstick, hair things, notpads, pens, stickers, candy, jingle necklace - a bunch of stuff found at Target's Dollar Spot clearance. -
Thanks. All very good ideas. I know I can come up with something, just not feeling very creative right now. Maybe it will come to me when I am packing them...

I want to make a gift in a bottle for each of my kids - fill an empty 2 liter bottle with small goodies and cover the hole you make to stuff it with a label so they have to try to figure out how to get the stuff out. The problem is I can't come up with any label ideas. I tried looking it up but all I can find is info on how to wrap wine bottles. Is there a website with pictures so I can copy someone's else's fabulous idea?

MIL - Wii! I'm really excited to give this to her. We are only able to do it because we are sharing the cost with other relatives. DD7 - ZhuZhu and accessories, Zoobles and Play sets, Plug-in TV microscope, Lego set, American girl book set and mini doll, Didj games, board games, movies, books, clothes DD5 - V.Smile Pocket, game for V.Smile, GoGo My Walkin' Pup, Lincoln Logs, American girl book set and mini doll, ZhuZhu, board games, movies, books, clothes DS4 - Spike the Ultra Dinosaur, Tonka Chuck's Stunt Park sets, Cranky the Crane and more wooden track for his train set, firetruck, wooden buliding blocks, Kung Zhu, board games, movies, books, clothes Nieces(12) - Bedding sets, pillows, lava lamp, door hanger signs, mini digital picture frames, SD card, movie basket with 2 movies and lots of treats Nephew(10) - Clothes, Cuponk, iTunes GC, movie basket with 2 movies and lots of treats My best deals: everything was a great deal! It was all bought on Target's clearance (75% off), or had a great coupon (I've had a lot of $5 off $5 and $10 off $10 purchase coupons this year for lots of different stores: Kmart, Hallmark, JCPenny, Kohls - plus lots of toy coupons) or a great sale. The only thing I paid "full" price for was the AG book sets. They were even on a slight discount at the AG outlet (around $20). I got the mini dolls from Borders -40% off coupon = about $15. Spike the Ultra Dinosaur bought at Target on clearance for $35 (75% off) Bed-in-bag sets $15 (Target clearance 75% off) Cuponk - Target- $2 after sale and store coupon Wii - $177 at Walmart (PM'd Target), but got $75GC U-Build Monopoly - $5 - $5 coupon = free Zhu-Zhus - "Free" - 4/$10 at CVS after BOGO sale and B1G2 coupon. I paid with ECBs that I had no better use for, so I'm calling these free. 3.5" Digital picture frames - "Free" - On clearance at Walgreen's and I had too many RR's to manage, so I'm calling these free, too. Candy - Free - I've got loads of candy from drug store deals for absolutly free. I rolled my ECBs on BF to get free candy at CVS and I've been using coupons at Rite Aid to get candy, pay with UPs, and get back more UPs than I used to pay.

The leapster explorer is available on leapfrog.com for $59.99 with free shipping and guarenteed Christmas delivery if you order today. http://shop.leapfrog.com/leapfrog/?utm_source=LinkShare&utm_medium=banner&utm_campaign=winter20&utm_content=OOTtr9mlaCk&siteID=OOTtr9mlaCk-jgRkubdhi7gQYb85AXWLJQ Meijer's website has it for $57.99, I don't know if it available in store at the same price. http://www.meijer.com/s/leapfrog-leapster-explorer-learning-experience-green/_/R-167295?cmpid=goobase&CAWELAID=674357840 Sam's club has it for $63.88, Walmart for $59 (not available online right now). I'm not sure what the pricing/availablity in store looks like, but it might be worth checking out. Kohl's has it listed at $79.99 (not available online right now). If they have it in stock in the stores and you have any coupons this could be a deal.

Who's done with Christmas shopping?
fluffkin79 replied to HansieDZ's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I was mostly done months ago (Thank you, Target toy clearance). Still, these last few weeks have been brutal. There have been a lot of freebies to chase and a few better deals that had me rebuying/returning. I spent the whole day Saturday shopping, they stayed up all night wrapping. I need one more gift that we will be getting today (I needed DH to choose this one). Oh, and a I need to pick up a gift card. And maybe, if I have time, stop by a Coinstar to take advantage of their "Get $50 for $40 deal". Of course, if I make it to Coinstar then I will be ordering from Amazon. While I'm out I think I'll stop by some drug stores to take advantage of some of thier deals. I'm still working on a home made gift for my kids. If I have time I will go buy the ingredients and bake some stuff for cookie/candy baskets. Ummm....yeah....I'm never done until time is up. -
Do all coinstar machines offer the GC option? I tried to do this today but the only options I saw was get cash (less 9% fee) or donate to charity. Edit: I found the answer. I was in a hurry earlier and just glanced at the locations. I didn't notice that some have the logos for the GC stores and some don't. The one I went to didn't have the GC option, so I took my coin jar for a walk around Walmart for no good reason. I guess I'll try again tomorrow.

Buy 12 and use a $10/$30 coupon to make these $1.67 each. Has anyone seen this in stores? -
I finally made it to ON around 8pm. I didn't see them anywhere at first but the cashier told me where to look when I was checking out. There were maybe 50 left in the box, all dark blue or green. The line was painfully long and slow and the quality didn't scream "buy me", so I didn't get any. The dark colored ones showed a lot of lint. If there had been patterns left I might have waited though the line again.

Are there any deals out there for itunes cards? I'm looking for a $10-$15 one before New Years. The only deal I've seen is CVS giving a coupon for Despicable Me, but we don't really need the movie.
