  1. Rite Aid and Walgeens will have 'As seen on tv' items BOGO on BF (check dates, it might be Thurs.). At Rite aid you can mix and match with other items, I not sure about Walgreens. Note: Stompeez aren't pictured in either ad but they do have the 'As seen on tv' label on the box.
  2. I think Hallmark has it for 29.99. You can use the $5/$10 here: http://www.hallmark.com/offers/store-offers/ or keep an eye on Hallmark for other offers. I can say that I was hoping to pick one up on clearance last year, but stores seemed to sell out before Christmas.

    Robot?

DS6 is asking for a robot this year. He didn't see one that he wants, he just wants one. All I can think of is Transformers, but I don't think that's what he wants. I asked him what the robot should do. He would love one that does everything: walks, talks, cleans his room... pretty much everything you would expect from a syfy movie robot, lol! That said, I think he would be happy with a robot that does something, anything. If he can build it or program it, or control it in some way I think he would be happy. The one thing he wouldn't like is a stationary model. Does anyone know of any robots out there? Or maybe a robotics kit?
  4. I had to download iTunes. After downloading, closed out all windows, clicked on iTunes on my desktop, clicked 'iTunes store' (left), clicked 'redeem' (right), pasted code (FPJAXHKEPT7T), created an account, and the music download started.
  5. Gosh, do I get the 29.99 Razor A scoooters now using the $10 coupon or wait until BF and try to get the $19 lighted wheel ones? Does Target do a price adjust on doorbuster prices if I buy in advance? How reliable is Target.com on BF?
  6. The new ones have a camera, the old ones don't. Just want to put it out there in case someone is looking at an older one. I LOVE my 'old' Kindle. The only things that I felt like it was lacking was a camera and descent parental controls. They've taken care of that with the new ones.
  7. Genius! (If it works) I love the idea of getting enough for everyone who wants to buy!
  8. Substitute - this might be OK. Refund? - not good. Not good at all. Sounds too much like BB last year
  9. Similar situation here. My DD9 really wants a tablet for netflix. She'd like a camera too. I'd like to get her a kindle but its a bit out of my price range, especially since her brother and sister want one too. She thinks that she wants a Nabi but I wonder if its a bit too "young" for her. We played with one at BB and most of the preloaded apps were aimed at preschoolers. Can you actually explore the Internet on the Nabi or is it just direct links to a few sites? Can it get netflix? Are there free apps more appropriate for older kids? She wants to spend her own money to get one of cheepo tablets on BF. She only had about $60 to spend. Should I let her get one of the $40 ones (or help her get a $80ish one)? She really just needs access to netflix, some free downloadable apps, and maybe a camera. Expandable memory would be nice, and decent battery life. I'm a big fan of gorilla glass and parental controls (I know, "Get a Kindle!"), but I can always just shut down our wifi at homework and bed times. Would she be happy with one of the cheap ones?
  10. I'm taking over Thanksgiving this year and I plan to enjoy the day with family, cook with the kids, watch some football, eat around 5pm, maybe even have a glass of wine. That's my priority. I'll still work some shopping in, but it's definatly not like it used to be. I prefer to have family time on Thursday, shopping on Friday. Last year was a blur. I didn't get any real sleep so I was cranky and somewhat overwhelmed by the crowds (even though I skipped store openings and the store weren't THAT crowded - tired will do that to ya). I didn't really enjoy myself like I have in the past. I got some deals, but I really just wanted to be back in bed. This year I plan to make an a.m. drugstore run on T-day, then keep an eye on here and (hopefully) get most of my goods ordered as sales go live. I'm sure I'll make it out to B&M stores at some point; when I go out will depend on how much I'm able to get online. I'm hoping to resist the urge to head out until at least midnight. Or maybe skip the wine, head out for 8:00 deals then back home till 5-6?
  11. Well, that was fun! I don't know if my stores went 90% yesterday or today. It didn't look like there was much left, but I dug through it at 2 stores and found lots of goodies. I spent about $38 (with my 5% redcard) for about $400 worth of merchandise - gotta love that! For next Halloween: Jive'n Jack (motion activated, singing jack-o-lantern) $3 Craft kits: lighted paint-your-own pumpkin, paper eyeball lantern, bat tree .59-1.79 Make-up, costumes & accessories, pumpkin decorating kits For Christmas: Candy: Carmel apple candy corn (DD loves flavored candy corn), cotton candy (my kids won't care about the spider theme), ring-pop-type things with vampire lips (These work year-round, thank you Twilight!) 'Gingerbread' Village - $1 I'll take out the Halloween-themed decorations to use on the .38 Funfetti mix and use Christmas-looking candies to make this a Christmas Village. I love that each kid gets to add a house! Wilton Decorating candy -black colored, cherry flavored licorice .37 (this rang up full price, but there were several in the 90% section and the cashier honored it) 'Poison' & 'Venom' treat sacks .20-.50: I'm using the bigger ones as gift sacks for giving local brews to non-local relatives. I also picked up some smaller ones to hold candy, snacks, and a movie for the kids and random cousins. Hair accessories - Pink & Purple braided hairbands, Purple "hair" on a barette w/ a monster-high-type skull Fuzzy Slipper Socks For now: Funfetti Cake mix (w/ decorations from gingerbread village kit) Orange Decorating icing (there was a lot of green, but it was full price) 'Halloween' Sprinkles (one is Halloweeny, the other is not so much) 4x boy's t-shirts .69 ("This is my costume", white w/ vampire teeth, orange w/ 'torn' claw marks, black w/ a sea monster? face) 'Thor' boys stocking hat $1 4-pack glitter .20? Googly eyes (supposedly for decorating pumpkins) .20? Paint set .20? (Also supposed to be for pumpkins, but I think we'll use it on Lowe's Build n Grow stuff; the kids always want to paint them.) Slightly off topic: I picked up adult costumes for my oldest this time. I paid $3 for a Indian Princess dress and $4 for a Wizard of Oz (Dorothy) dress. Both look just as flimsy as the one-time-use children's costumes we normally use. Does anyone actually pay $30-$40 for these? That seems outragous to me!
  12. A battery back-up for my sump pump and/or installation. We are one of the fortunate ones who kept power in last week's storm and I kept hearing our sump pump kick on. I don't want to see what happens if we lose power next time. I'd also like a handheld vacuum and a new printer with cheaper ink.
  13. Will Lowes have these same items available online? I wouldn't mind getting the firepit but I would rather not have to run out on T-day.

  15. Yep! Wish big, but know that Santa brings whatever he thinks is right for you - and that might be totally different that what's on your list. Also, Santa won't bring toys that Mom and Dad don't approve of.
  16. I probably won't be lining up for much, if anything. As a matter of fact I'd like to say that I could skip BF, but I know better! I have most of my kids gifts taken care of already, thanks to Target's toy clearance and other deals I've stumbled over. I'll probably be looking for the typical deals this year: video games, team apparel, household stuff for myself, girly stuff (think robes, slippers, makeup, etc.). If I miss it in one place, I can always catch it somewhere else. I won't be waiting in any long electronics lines. I might wait for a little while outside a store or 2 just before opening, maybe get to JCP early if they are doing the snowglobes again, but if this year's openings are like last year's I'll probably do a lot of shopping online, the venture out to B&M's for some "nice to have's". No pressure!
  17. I think that's how my family got the 3pm lunch/supper. As a kid I remember being very hungry, but Mom kept kicking me out of the kitchen because dinner was "almost ready", for 2 hours! Now that I'm the mom, I want to help my kids out by serving our meal closer to our normal time (usually around 6:00). Being hungry in a house that smells like Thanksgiving is torture! Unlike my own mother (who was awesome BTW, but always late), I'll have a quick lunch on hand for the kids - some hot dogs or something else we can get out without much effort.
  18. I volunteered to make Thanksgiving dinner this year, so I get to pick the time. An earlier meal might mean getting a nap before the BF madness begins, but if we have a later dinner I could sleep later in the AM and just stay up. I'm used to having our big meal around 3pm (how did that tradition start?), but I'm leaning towards 5pm this year. What time does your family eat? If you could change it, what time would you make it and why? Cooking the meal really isn't that big of deal for me. I have a husband and 3 kids so cooking homemade meals is pretty much a daily chore. Our Thanksgiving meal won't be much more complicated than what we eat every day. I'll make deserts and apps the day before so on T-day all I have to do is pop the bird in the oven, boil and mash some potatoes, mix up green bean casserole and stuffing, and make the gravy. I'll be feeding my family, one aunt, and 3 grandparents who barely eat. They all want to bring something, so I'm sure we'll have more than enough food. I've never hosted this side of the family so I don't know how long they'll hang around after dinner, but the grandparents do wear out quickly. I don't know if I'll be able to get to sleep after dinner even if everyone goes home early, so I'm thinking of sleeping later in the AM and staying up for BF.
  19. DS6 wants aluminium foil. He loves repurposing our trash for craft projects - boxes, cans, strings, tp rolls, etc. I cant throw anything away without him saying "I wanted to make something out of that!" Well, I don't let him play with my new roll of foil, and apparently the scrapes aren't coming fast enough, so he plans on asking Santa for his very own roll.
  20. I've gotten questions about "Santa inequality" this year. Why do some families get big gifts, and others get small? That could be explained by parent donations, but what about the kids that get nothing? Has Santa gotten so used to parent donations that he refuses to give any gift without a finacial contribution? I was explaining Toy for Tots to DD9. She said that Santa will still bring gifts, so even if the parents can't afford presents the kids will still get something. I said true enough, but Santa doesn't want the parents to feel bad by giving really big stuff the parents could never afford, so he gives small gifts in these families - Toys for Tots help to make it a better Christmas for these kids. We don't personally know any families that can't afford to give their kids anything (and if we did, those kids would be getting something), so my explaination worked for her.
  21. Does this mean they match Amazon prices? Not that it matters much - tax free and shipped to me wins my business, but I like the idea.
  22. Thanks. I've been leaning toward taking it back and getting a razor instead. DS6 won't be doing crazy tricks, but I don't want to take the chance that his will break before his sisters'.
  23. I have 2 that still want toys and DD9 who thinks she wants toys, but never plays with them. Even though the things she would really like are pricier, she's not mature enough to think "Sure, bro got 6 packs of Transformers, but look at my cool new video camera!" Somehow, I doubt the TwinkleToes she's been asking for will be equal to her sister's LPS radio control car in her mind (even though the shoes are 6x the price of the toy car). Of my 3, the oldest is far more likely to be upset if she thinks she got 'less' than the others. She's not neccessarily greedy, it makes her feel less important. This will be the first year of few toys for DD9, so I feel like I need to plan carefully so everyone feels like they have a good Christmas.
  24. I wanna say "yes, too soon", but anyone reading this thread is thinking about Christmas (unless you consider BF and Christmas to be be totally unconnected). If customers are thinking about it, it must not be too soon to advertise.
