  1. Hmmmm. I don't have big plans for Thanksgiving morning, and some of those Free after ECB items look interesting. I could use the universal remote, and I think I have coupons for some of those other items... Yes, this ad has possibilites.
  2. I got lucky. We got to the Stongsville, OH store around 11 this morning. There was a FULL aisle of costumes (both sides) and another aisle and some endcaps of odds and ends. Signs said 75%, but it was scanning 90%. There wasn't much candy left (fine by me, we don't need any more), but I was able to find several costumes, kid's shirts, trick-or-treat pillowcases, and some other decorations. I didn't have high hopes because I was at the Parma store yesterday and it was looking very picked-over at 75%.
  3. They moved puple dot socks to a box with other socks in the halloween section of my store. There were 75% off signs everywhere. When I got to the registers the purple dot socks rang up as .50 so I asked the cashier to adjust them to 75%. She refused, saying that dollar spot items were only 50%, even if someone misplaced them. I tried to explain that there was a whole box full in the Halloween section, but she wouldn't hear it so I put them back. In hindsight I probably should have gotten them. They were not too Halloween-y (purple w/ stars) and DD needs new socks, but at the time my brain was in clearance-price mode and .50 seemed like too much, LOL.
  4. What/where is the kidstuff book with coupon?
  5. Thanks bunches! I haven't jumped on this yet because I wasn't sure if we could get there between 12/26 and 12/31. You may have just made up my mind!
  6. I looked at the Sears 1985 catalog expecting everything to look super-cheap. I find much better prices on similar items today! No wonder I didn't get the good stuff as a kid - there were no deal sites like this. Can you believe that my Mom had to comparison shop in person!?!
  7. I just deleted the email, I think Borders is offering a $20 coupon when you buy $100 in GCs. I don't know if a coupon is needed or if you need to be a rewards club member (I am).
  8. 4.99 girls jeans and 12.99 coats got my attention.
  9. For the purpose of the $10/$50 coupon - are kids slippers and outerwear considered either "apparel" or "accessories"?
  10. Sooooo excited to see a major ad! Thanks! I was hoping to see Pillow Pets for some kind of discount - boo to 19.99! I didn't even look at most of the ad - I am almost finished shopping for my kids and my budget is down to about $0. I did see the flatware set and made a mental note to look out for them next year. Is that a normal Kohl's deal? I saw some cute onaments and jewlery boxes I want to go check out. Probably not worth BF lines, but maybe on a weekend sale...
  11. One Target near me had them on 2 shelves - one right on top of the other. One shelf tag said $49, the other said $54. I didn't scan it to see how it rings up, but I suggest getting it sooner rather than later because the toy book price is $54, so I expect it to go up. Just keep the receipt handy in case you can get it for less.
  12. I wouldn't surprise her by giving her kids cheaper gifts without warning, they would definatly feel cheated then. Let her know ahead of time that you will be cutting back this year. Tell her how bad you feel about it and let her know that you expect her to spend less on your son so she can spend more on her kids to help even things out. If you plan on going back to your old ways you could always let her know that you will go back to buying pricier gifts when you are in a position to do so.
  13. I'm pretty sure candy will go down to at least 75% - whatever is left of it. It is just on a slower schedule than the rest of seasonal. It has been that way for the past several holidays.
  14. The towels I got were .98, handtowels .74?, washcloths .62 I didn't see any 75% off at the first store (but I had 2 little ones with me, so no surprise there!), there were a few left at the second store. Mostly orange.
  15. I think 90% will be Sunday, but if some stores have gone to 75% today it is possible it might go down sooner, maybe Saturday? My store was 50% Halloween, 30% candy today. I scanned a few just to be sure.
  16. Also available in stores. I checked on this when I was at Target today and the shelf price was $49. You can print the coupons from Target's site or the books should be available in stores (now or in the near future).
  17. Green dollar spot was 75% off at my store today. It was marked 50% thru 10/31, but scanned 75% off. It was all mixed up at my store, green pink, purple, and even brown spots were tossed haphazardly everywhere. I found an Elmo board book, Disney baby socks, and some Fancy Nancy lotion for .25 each.
  18. Kitchen utnesils - measuring cups or mesuring spoons, large plastic serving spoon or spatula. I know it sounds a bit strange, but my kids loved playing with these things. Bath toys, baby appropriate keys, baby-proof photo book like this one http://www.amazon.com/Sassy-80021-Look-Photo-Book/dp/B002J4U8L6/ref=pd_cp_ba_1a plaster handprint kit if you haven't already done one, board books. My kids really enjoyed the Baby Faces board books at that age (here's one http://www.amazon.com/Kisses-Faces-Roberta-Grobel-Intrater/dp/0439420032/ref=pd_sim_b_2#_) or song books so they can look at the pictures while you sing the song.
  19. Nice to look at... I was hoping for a great deal on a Go-Go Pup, too. If someone else offers it for a better price will Target PM and let you use the coupon? I picked up Cuponk at Target this week for $9, and it came with a free bag of chips. There were several games to choose from.

    Big Toy Book

Thanks. I'll have to consider it. It might be a better deal to just get the movie cheaper somewhere else.
  21. We've given a stationary gift basket (Cards for all occasions, stationary, pen, stamps, return address labels, calendar for tracking birthdays/anniversaries) that Grandma really liked. When we lived out of town we made a food basket with some local favorites - a good ham from a local meat market, cheeses and flavored popcorn and fudge from small local businesses. Since my grandma is on a fixed income gift cards are very appriciated, especially for grocery or drug stores.

    Big Toy Book

Can the Free items be combined? For example, if I bought: Toy Story 3 (Bluray) 34.99 UP (DVD) 19.99 and Zoobles Tree House 29.99 = 84.97 Could I use the coupon for a $10 GC when you spend $75, AND get: $10 GC for spending $40 on Disney Toy Story clock (for purchasing Toys Story 3) Toy Story popcorn tin (Toy Story Purchase of $30+) and have the option to buy the $4.99 stuffed bear/dog?
  23. I try not to go to Kohl's on BF. I don't have a Kohl's card so I don't know how the cardholder discounts affect BF sales vs. other sales. I worked there on BF a few years ago and saw people waiting in 2-hour lines to buy things that were at the same price as every other sale that season. Yes you can earn Kohl's Cash, but they usually offer that several times leading up to the holidays. I usually love Kohl's, and I enjoy being out on BF, but the vast majority of people I have met in line at the Kohl's stores on BF shop in pairs or groups- meaning as soon as the doors open one person stands in line while everone else shops, then they trade places. It's a great plan if you shop in a group, but very annoying if you are out solo. I have been very near the checkouts (3rd or 4th in line) and got stuck waiting for a much longer than I expected because customer after customer kept joining the people in line in front of me who had been holding their spot. One year there was a group of maybe 6 people just standing at the front of the line telling everyone to pass them because they were each waiting for their shopping buddies to finish. Within a few minutes of opening the line is halfway around the store, so there is no way for me to grab something and get out quickly, even if I know right where to go. I know that team shopping isn't unique to Kohl's, but for some reason that is the only store where it seems to get to me. For me the lines aren't worth saving a bit more on clothes that are prices very similar throughout the season. If they carry it regularly it will probably be offered at a similar price another time. That If they had a doorbuster (something they don't normally carry) that I was looking for at a great price then I could be lured in, but not for the regular stuff.
  24. We start with 3 toys (or other "wants") - one from Mom and Dad, and one from each of their siblings. Then we give each kid some "needs"- could be clothes, coats, books, art supplies, etc. - whatever we are low on. Then Santa usually brings each kid one big toy, a game and some stocking stuffers. A couple weeks before Christmas we clean out the toy boxes so there really isn't much left until they open the gifts. And I really think about each toy I want to give the kids- will they really play with it? will there be missing pieces all over the place? So far, we have tried to give gifts with few pieces (except games which aren't stored in their rooms). This year we have to be extra selective about what we give them because we are short on space and cash.
  25. Shipping: $66.67 Guess they don't really want to sell those.
