  1. I would NOT get built in. My tv repairman says they go bad real fast. Get a cheap DVD player to go with it. My children always had 19 inch in their bedrooms and dvd vcr combo's because we still have tons of vcr tapes. For camera, my ds12 wants one too . I would NOT go with Kodak. I had one for quite a few years and it was junk. The software froze my computer and caused tons of problems. Last year at BF, I bought a Samsung i85 from Sesars for 99.It has the whole back a view screen and the lens in enclosed so it can't be damaged. I love it. I can charge the battery with a usb cable hooked to the computer or plug it in either way. It has a built in battery pack. My kodak used batteries and no matter what kind I bought, I could only take a few pics before they were dead. My mom has Kodak also and her power switch is getting bad. Whichever way you go, one with a battery pack is best.
  2. I finally started a christmas club this year, put 25 in it almost every week and I've got about a thousand. I have one 12 year old at home who gets tons of presents cuz he's the last. I've got 2 others who married and have step children. I added 8 people to my shopping list in two years and 5 are step children . Put a dent in the presents my older kids get. Used to get them the same as their brother until there was so many of them. I buy stuff all year long and have 3 huge boxes upstairs full of walmart clearance toys, hot topic , etc.
  3. Septmp1 works on just 25.00. Couldn't get either 10 birthday code to work and even opened a new account with new email address. COuldn't find anything my son would like except shoes and wasnt' willing to pay 18.00 for them after shipping.
  4. I did the online shopping last year at 11 pm. Thursdsay. I am in Central illinois and most stores had stuff up eastern time. I got everything I wanted and then went shopping at 5 am just to see what else I could find. It was so easy. I did site to store on Walmart stuff and didn't have to pay shipping. Best buy and Sears also easy. I watched everyone in the store frantically looking for stuff and felt smug that mine was already on the way.
  5. I had great experiences with online shopping. I got on the computer at 11 pm, because I am Central Illinois and most stores went on at midnight eastern. I went on Sears first and bought the camera I wanted which was a doorbuster and the store I go to has no electronics. I then went on Walmart and bought several other items and then Best buy to pick up a computer for my daughter. I then went to sleep and got up at 5 and headed to the nearest town which is 45 miles to shop leisurely. My mom won't shop on line and she was all flustered and upset because the stuff she wanted was gone. My son wanted a portable DVD player and they were all gone online and instore. We walked around for a while and found several at the checkouts tossed iin carts. We ended up with everything we wanted.
  6. I am in Cental Illniois and at our nearest Walmart last Friday, they were down to 15
  7. Winkflash.com has .10 5 by 7's. use code 10prints. I ordered 59 and total with shipping was 8.00
  8. I bought my son's from 3 diff. places. Places varied each time. Abebooks.com has bookstores from all over the world. Got a 100 book there for 25 once. amazon.com used books were sometimes a big deal and ebay. Try abebooks
  9. Dell won't allow you to use their discount codes on sale computers. I often get accessory coupon codes in the mail becaue I am a preferred customer but they feel their sale prices are on sale enough without adding more. My mom bought a real nice one two weeks ago for 429. She had a farm bureau code for 7 % any dell purchase and they told her coupons weren't valid on their sale stuff, so I would tell you to go to Dell and look up their back to sschool hot deals. You won't get any cheaper.
  10. I bought mine from Literary Guild.com. I have been a member for years , but I buy when it's buy one get one free with free shipping. The books run about 9 - 12 dollars apiece. I bought the hard to find ones with 2 or 3 novels in each volume which saves tons of money. There is a new one out book 9. Dead and Gone. I hate the series because they completely changed things from the way they are in the book. If you join Literary Guild you get very good prices. At Christmas when it was b1g1 and free shipping, I bought tons of books on there for 9.99 apiece, even expensive Taste of Home cookbooks wihich had a years subscription to the magazine with it.
  11. I stick with Dish. Much cheaper. I had Qwest via Powernet Global for long distance only and never received a bill. I called repeatedly and was finally told I had been inactve for 5 months as I use my cell phone for long distance and they shut me off . The said they were turning it back on and when it never happened I called back only to be told they weren't letting me use them anymore. I went back to my own local Frontier. I love Dish. I have had it since Primestar consolidated with them years ago. My daughter got Direct TV but I checked into it a few times and it was much higher
  12. I had the same thing happen with flower pots, but I had the receipt. With a receipt you can do it, Just check various Walmarts until you find one that works, but hurry, summer stuff is clearancing fast and without a receipt you'll get lowest price.
  13. I replaced my sons from ebay. You can get some good buys if you are careful.
  14. When I reupholstered my couch, I went to Joann's to buy my cushions but didn't like the quality, so I looked in the phone book under upholstery and went to the nearest plac and they sold me the cushion for 80.00. IT was 5 inches thick and 7 feet long. I made one lond cushion with a zipper instead of 3 separate ones and it worked out better. But I have 6 grandchildren and dogs in the house that get excited and pee. My couch has been peed on more times thatn I can count. I have microsuede and it never soaks through, but if it did, I would go to the laundrymat like was mentioned before and use the big loader.
  15. We've had ours about 10 years and live in tornado alley. Ours has never budged once in any storm and is not staked because we move it every time we mow. I can't imagine trying to mow under it. I just pull it out of my way, sometimes move it into a shady area when grandkids are jumping.. It's realy too heavy to ever go anywhere.
  16. Craigslist also had several giveaway pools in our area, one of them a big oval good one with all accessories, just needed a liner and someone to dissassemble it.
  17. I also hate to go to Walmart, but in my opinion if a customer service person is rude, they are a rude person all the time. Nice people try to be nice all the time, not needing to get paid for it. As for coupons, I printed some free foil and velveeta coupons off the itnernt and used them at the nearest Walmart, but the other one farther way said they can't take internet coupons with no expirations dates because they won't get paid for them. They even called a manager, No problem I'll go back to the other Walmart. In m y area, most everyone makes minimum wage and they are as nice as can be, if they are nice people. They ruude ones are not nice people.
  18. Be careful, a pump nthat cheap won't do a good job cleaning. Our sears pool pump and filter systerm was over 300.00 and our pool was dirty until we bought a 2 horsepower Laser sand filter. SOver 500.00, but we have a clean pool now. It uses 200 pounds of silica sand instead of the 100 pounds the old filter used.
  19. Musiciansfriend.com or Giardinellis.com are sister companies. They sell at least 50% off. I bought my son's electic guitar there. It was a Warlock and i paid about 150 for it. They have cheaper. When my son started band, the local music store wanted 800 rent to own a trumpet. That was for a student version. I went to Giardinelli's online and got the intermediate version which list priced at 1200 for 450. They have hot buys every month with guitar packages. SIt's a wonderful place.
  20. My ds 12 wears a 6 1/2 mens, but sometimes you can find a pair in boys that size. His school shoes are skechers. We got them at Jc Penney's . Famous Footwear or Zappos are good too,.
  21. My son's are 12 years apart. 12 and 24. In my experience as both of them were Lego fnatics, the prices are about the same with a little inflation. I used to pay about 70 for a big castle set for my 24 year old. THis year , my son 12's big set cost me 70 at Walmart.com. It was bionicle Axalara. He loves the bionicles much more than the regular sets. I got mine about 10.00 less than in store price. I also buy from Shopko when they are b1g1. I buy them after xmas on clearance and put them up. I got my grandson an dmy son both 29.99 sets for bdays that only cost me 8.00. you just have to look for the bargains.
  22. Also, a place on ebay called pettagsfor less has them very cheap. I get all my pet tags from them and they also have quality dog tags.
  23. I buy all my extra cell phones from ebay stores. They are much less than 175. I just bought my son a Kyocera Strobe he's been wanting for 22.00 and my local store wanted 125.00 for it. When I signed my new contract I looked at Rokr's and they have been going on ebay for about 50.00. I usually buy the excellent or mint condition ones and have never been disappointed.
  24. Our local Neiman foods rents them and so does our Ace Hardware and we are only a town of 3,000.
  25. There is something up with this movie.i was in my local movie rental store last week and a girl was asking for it. the owner made a comment about something being done and it was now too expensive to buy for a movie rental. she had them rent the vcr copy. I've bben watching old movies on dish and burning to dvd with my dvd burner.it's not the best, but at least i can watch it again. I'll ask her today when I'm in there what is up with the Wizard of Oz being so expensive. If it is, that's why stores like Walmart aren't carrying it.
