  1. Yeah A/C is great until you actually have to go out in the heat. Nudist colonies may see an uptick in memberships during the humid MI summers. lol I don't get cold easily but on the flipside, I can overheat easily. So yeah, I prefer adding layers to sweltering heat. Especially since we get the heat AND the humidity here in MI! (I've been in Vegas where it was literally 117* outside and it felt cooler than the high 80s/low 90s humid heat I'd left behind in MI. Something's wrong with that picture!)
  2. The two locations in Ann Arbor, MI (One's a TrU, other's a BrU) are within a few miles of me. Each is part of a different shopping plaza, both of which I frequent for other stores located there. On the other hand, I can't tell you the last time I went into those Ann Arbor stores - not having kids, nor having any friends with kids that I'd shop for in stores like that, I really had no need for either place. Will be interesting to see what comes in to fill those spaces once the stores close.
  3. I'm not a huge fan of the cold, but something you hear me saying often when asked which I prefer... "You can always put more layers on but you can only take so many off before they arrest you." lol
  4. So tomorrow will feel like you're back in FL, right? lol
  5. You're in luck. We'll be closing in on 50* by Thursday. (Then back to reality over the weekend. lol)
  6. OK. I thought so, but couldn't remember. Last couple months have all been a blur for me. lol Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL
  7. Don't forget we had a couple server issues (though I can't recall exact timing of them). That might explain the missing posts...
  8. I was recovering from lack of sleep resulting from being the "hostess with the mostest" for my church's NYE party. Didn't get in till 3 yesterday morning, couldn't sleep till 5, finally got to sleep only to be back up at 10 to get stuff done. Back to reality today. After the week off from work, I'm more exhausted now than I was before Christmas. The "off week" is always, by far, my busiest week. Should have grabbed a NOS this morning to wake me up. Ha. Happy 2018, y'all.
  9. Would seem a very small thing to some but... an elf ornament. Back story: A dear friend of mine was extremely close to his grandma, even taking on a part-time caregiver's role in her last few years. She passed a few years back and part of his inheritance, if you will, was her Christmas tree and all of her decorations. Her tree was known as the "elf tree" in their family, as it was covered with elves (pre-Elf on the Shelf era, but that style of elf). Every year, in remembrance of his grandma, my friend puts that tree up, complete with all of her elves. This year, as I hunted for something unique and special for him, I came across a jingle bell ornament that had that style of elf sitting on top of the jingle bell reading a book. I knew I had to get it for him. How do I know it was a big hit? When he told me the ornament was already on the tree and that it was "perfect". (He lives out of state from me.) Brought tears to my eyes to know he found it worthy of adding to her collection. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

  11. So I opened my box this morning and found everything nicely wrapped inside. When I unwrapped everything, I found many fun things. Everything from yummy hand lotion to a beautiful journal & pen set to treats for my kitties (and a whole tin of peppermint goodies for me) and so much more! Thank you tracy0504, from me and my kitties! Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL
  12. That was my life this week. Sorry you and your fam caught the creeping crud as well. Darn MI weather.
  13. Waiting for the after Christmas candy sales to stock up for my NYE party table bowls. I host the party at my church every year and the candy bowls on each table are always pretty popular.
  14. The box I'm most looking forward to the person receiving is on the truck and out for delivery today. Filled with many special things for a very special friend. Worked hard on this one this year.
  15. Baking is done. Wrapping is almost done. Final shipments go out today.
  16. Yikes! Been there, done that with various baking supplies over the years. I always feel like such a dingy when I realize stuff that old is still in my cabinets.
  17. So frustrating when something goes missing in the mail... I think I had a package get lost as well (not GD related), so I'm following up with the guy I ordered it from to see if he actually shipped it yet (he's a racer on a shoestring budget and always very busy - not going to yell at the postal service yet unless he confirms he's had the chance to actually ship).
  18. After being down for the count yesterday, working through the rest of my baking tonight for the longer distance boxes shipping tomorrow (day later than planned). Have two special small batches of cookies I'll do tomorrow night for Friday delivery. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL
  19. Ugh. Woke up with a killer sinus headache today. Finishing up my baking to ship is going to be a battle today... Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL
  20. Shopping almost done but on hold till baking is finished. Round 2 ships this week. Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL
  21. Interesting. Wonder how this will work in areas where Target is in direct competition with other organizations already using Shipt? Sent from my iPhone using GottaDEAL

    Goodies

So far: 551 cookies in, still one more batch (7-8 dozen strong) in this first round. Two batches of brownies are done. Leaves me with the last batch of cookies, three batches of fudge, and pumpkin bread to make tonight for my first (big) shipment tomorrow down to my JGR crew boys in NC (aka my brothers from another mother). One small box will go out of this first round to a good buddy in Kentucky. His bday is this week, so I always make sure his goodie box comes out of the first round. Once I'm past tomorrow, round 2 begins in earnest Wednesday night. Pretty much a repeat of the first round.
