So I totally missed June and I know I'm out of the cool kids' club. So mad at myself! Gah! June was just nuts, though, (nothing bad, just super busy!) and was gone before I realized I hadn't been around here. Anyway, had to check back in and let everybody know I'm still alive over here. I'm now down over 75 pounds and still going strong. My 5k time is consistently staying under 45 minutes (big achievement for me) and I'm feeling so much better these days. Still have a ways to go but the progress is showing. Hope all my fellow GD'ers are doing well and gearing up for Prime Day today. I'm catching up on the latest on this quickly so I can add some wishlist things in case they end up being part of the sale.

Find Michael Waltrip during his infamous "grid walk"? lol
-
Yes! Both race weekends, actually. That's why I'm headed that way!
-
Yep. Pretty much. At least the weather outside is awesome and I was able to get out and enjoy during my lunch break.

Just got told I need to have my cube packed up for a move before I leave for Charlotte next week. Nothing like short notice... Happy Monday everybody! smh lol

I'm liking the club seal idea myself, Brad, though I'd be open to alternate colors.

Ha! And given how rarely I wear dresses, you might want to mark it on the calendar that today is second day in a row in a dress for me. (I usually don't risk it for office wear because I work with automotive parts that like leaving carbon black all over me if I'm not careful. lol) I'll see if I can find a way to get a picture that isn't in our office bathroom.

Keep your eyes to the sky, Bopeep. Those black swirlies mean business.

Yep. Broke out one of my work-appropriate dresses today in honor of the warm weather. Just hoping it sticks around finally. Countdown is on for my semi-annual trip to Charlotte Motor Speedway for the NASCAR All-Star Race and Coca-Cola 600. Tickets have arrived and cookie baking begins a week from tonight. I leave in two weeks. Most looking forward to seeing a pair of brothers (from another mother lol) that I love dearly for the first time since October. I usually see them in Vegas but they weren't able to be there this year, so I'm in serious track family withdrawals. Progress report: I'm down 57 lbs and counting. Got my 5k time under 45 minutes. Feeling better all the time. Go me! Ha!

Meanwhile, I've been in short sleeves these past few days in MI (with light jacket only in the mornings) because it's finally been around 60* every day. Crazy how our bodies adjust to different climates.

Snow on the ground again and 16* wind chill this morning... Really, Mother Nature??? Geez. Forecast says it's supposed to get better soon. I'll believe it when I see it. Meanwhile, my normally 20-min commute took well over an hour this morning. Black ice EVERYWHERE. smh Gotta love Michigan weather. lol

I second this! Been snowing off and on all day here! UGH!!!

Not like we'd know it from the weather here the past couple of days...

Welcome to my birthday month, people! 12 shopping days left! Ha! God's April Fool's joke on us was a snow shower that started just as our outdoor sunrise service began at my church yesterday morning. Go figure. Needless to say, we moved the service inside after a few minutes, since it *was* awfully chilly that early. Down 48 lbs and keeping it going. Still quite a ways to go, but still feeling good and excited for the warmer weather/later sunsets so I can really get back to being more active and really get that number dropping! (Typically I walk/run outside after work, really don't feel safe doing so in my area after dark, which means pretty much all winter unfortunately.) I've already been out a few times.

Yeah that hasn't worked for me ever since year 1. Been a dumpster fire every year since. lol

I'm not really into college bball but a sports media friend of mine runs a free bracket challenge every year and he talked me into it a few years back. Soooo... I create a bracket every year but have no clue what I'm doing. First year, I won. lol

Awesome. Lots of fun ornaments like that up there. And yes, totally doable from Toledo as a day trip. That's only about 35-40 minutes further south of me. Hope you get to visit soon!

They're wimps... Kidding! lol (I do drive from Ann Arbor, MI to Charlotte, NC twice a year, though - that's about 11-12 hours each way.) Road trips are fun when everyone's on board with them, though. Each year when one of my best friends and I head for Vegas for NASCAR, we have one day we set aside for a road trip. I set the limit at ~5 hours each way. Last year, we did the Grand Canyon. This year, we headed to Huntington Beach, CA. She's thinking Death Valley or the giant sequoias next year. Fun times.

Bronner's is awesome. It's only around 90 minutes north of me, at most. I try to get there at least once a year. (Also, hello Bavarian Inn/Zehnder's family style chicken dinners!!! Yum yum yum!)

Welcome to March, everybody! I'm just back from Vegas and the NASCAR racing that was there over this past weekend. Coming home to snow on the ground, albeit not a ton, was definitely a dose of reality, even though Vegas wasn't all that warm this time around. As of this morning, I am almost 36 lbs lighter than I started the year as I near the end of a structured 60-day plan that is setting me up well for long term habits I can maintain pretty easily. (Even lost 6.5 lbs in Vegas! Yippee!) Congrats to all who are also on a journey to get healthier and succeeding, either in specific weight loss goals or just general health goals. Go us! Definitely enjoying the longer days, but NOT looking forward to springing forward this weekend. Always hate losing that hour of sleep. lol Hope you have your power back soon, if not already, racerfan.

Oh geez... Poor kid! Hope he recovers quickly, whatever it is *this* time and that you can relax once he's better.

Agreed! Great deal.

Killer for me is my apartment is half underground (ground level) with no good place for an antenna to pull signal in. Have yet to find a way to "cut the cord" and still get what I want that ultimately will cost less than what I'm already paying. (Right now, my options are basically a wash, cost-wise.)
