  1. I remember last year getting the ad on the Sunday before BF. I also have a family member who works for a newspaper - I will try to get in contact with him today to see if the flyer is already shipped to them. :)
  2. Can I get an input on the desktops that are available. My price range is $500 and I had hoped to include a new printer for that price as well..... However, these prices look pretty good. When will this be mailed out? I normally get the catalogs from Dell.
  3. Just dreaming here.... I was watching Food Network last night and the show that was on had a grocery store that had an interactive computer on the cart. As you went through the store you scanned in your own items and it kept a running total. When you were finished you just plugged into the self serve check out and paid the computer (cash, credit, debit, etc.) Having something along these lines would be awsome for BF.... Pick up your doorbuster and scan it in yourself then go to the check out line with your scanner and items, pay and you are out the door!
  4. I ordered the cookbook and CD from LTD Commodities for $12.95. http://www.ltdcommodities.com/home/catalog/cat_item_pg.asp?G=600&P=29&Rec=1&N=37+4&Nao=0&R=443041-9HBNBKN1 I was able to purchase both the 2007 Cookbook (including CD) and the Baking book, including shipping for $30. The cover price for one book is $29.95.
  5. Len, thanks for the info. I am curious - why the standard case as opposed to the slim? I have been looking at the slim cases because I like the looks of them but what are the drawbacks? Also on Vista - I was interested in getting the Business or Ultimate editions only because they are normally the first by Microsoft to get upgrades, how do you rate the Premium edition? Kren and the rest of the Mac users.... you have my attention. I am looking at Mac's right now as well. I am sure you are well aware that switching is a big decision - and I have to keep my family in mind (will my H be compatible with a Mac, he can barely get around the Window's desktop, etc). :)
  6. Good point Brad (I guess I won't win a t-shirt with that suggestion )..... then how about actually having at least 3 or more of the big ticket items that are printed in the BF ad.
  7. Best Buy does this pretty well, but I think that stores should print in their ad if they have a limited number of "sale" items on hand and then print the actual number that will be available.
  8. Culvers Restaurants will be giving out their Butterburgers on October 7th for $1. The flyer I got in my bag today didn't specify a time so I am assuming it is for the entire day.
  9. bigjimslade, I really don't want to have to wait in line longer than an hour or so. I thought that by going to the "office" stores I would have a better shot (although pay a little more) at getting a computer system for a good price without having to fight the crowd. I am finding computers out there (without monitors) that have 4 gigs of RAM running about $550.... Usually Dells with a Intel processor. What are the predictions that these type of computers will be even cheaper on BF?
  10. Thanks everyone! Definitely a lot of food for thought here. It looks like the way to go is to hit the "office" stores. I am more of a "hands on" type buyer. I either really have to trust the company or see what I am getting. Which will put me in the stores on BF - just hopefully not waiting in line too long. However, will I need a larger memory/ram for a computer to run Vista Business or Ultimate?
  11. So I am back to the question.... What are the odds of me getting a good computer around BF? I really don't want to hang out all night, but I am willing to get to a store when they open to get a good deal on a more expensive computer.
  12. what about monitors with Macmini? I was checking out the web site and the $599 pricing is only for the CPU. The monitor runs another $599. It appears that I can get a better system right now at SAM's club that includes a monitor: Dell Inspiron 530S Desktop 1.8GHz, 250GB, 19" LCD #359499 Model: 530S Intel DC E2160 1.8GHz 3GB DDR2 250GB hard drive 19" LCD Vista Home The hard drive on this is huge compared to the Macmini and the Ram is much larger. I am an idiot when it comes to Mac's. Why are they so much better than the others?
  13. My budget goes up to $800, but I want to get the best deal possible. I would like to get an $800 computer for around $500.... Is that possible without being in line on BF?
  14. I want to replace my desktop - I purchased it in 2000 and am still using it. However I do feel that I need to get caught up with the times and get updated. What are the chances of getting in on the Desktop deals on BF? Am I going to need to spend the entire night in line waiting for Best Buy or Circuit City to hand out their tickets to only then have to wait in line for them to open? Are the other sales that weekend just as good? Is it worth it?
  15. Last year I used the 50% off coupon for my entire order. I stocked up on baskets for centerpieces/party gifts for a holiday party.
  16. You can get elf at Target? I didn't know that! Do they carry the full line?
  17. Norma, Please post back here and let me know if you like the make up you ordered. I have been so tempted to try it out but I want to get some opinions first. Thanks!
  18. Great dress - very Marilyn Monroe inspired. I found this web site that has a similar style - not sure if it is what you are looking for.... http://www.marilynmonroedresses.com/white_marilyn_monroe_dress.html If this isn't what you are looking for you could try www.chadwicks.com for some similar dress styles. Hope this helps and contgratulations!
  19. samisma, If you want a quality work top to put on the tool boxes, be sure to check with wood working stores such as Rockler and Woodcraft. You might need a way to fasten the top to the tool boxes to keep it from sliding.
  20. $200 would be a dream knife for me Jenh.... Can you ask your H what brand he used in school (what the school provided)? I would appreciate it.
  21. check this out.... http://www.stacksandstacks.com/html/8724_garage-organizer-work-bench.htm There isn't drawers underneath, but if his tool cabinet is a 2 piece stackable he can put the top piece on the shelf underneath and use the bottom piece along side the workbench.
  22. For all you foodies out there..... I would really like to get a good quality chef's knife. Something that stays sharp and that has a great weight distribution. I always window shop at Williams Sonoma when I get the chance but those knives run around $70 and up. What brand do they use in cooking schools? I would appreciate any personal recommendations.
  23. I just bought my patio set from the Janesville store. Had I known they were going out of business I would have made the trek to Fond du Lac or Bever Dam to get the discount.
