  1. I saw it on sale a couple of times this past year for $10 at Target. Keep looking, it should happen again before Christmas.
  2. Is the gold 10K, 14K or 18K? The lower the number the more other metal is mixed in making for a sturdier ring and less expensive gold. Silver is soft so that is a consideration like momlori stated. My opinion would be to get the bigger diamond and have it checked by the jeweler annually for any prong defects that should be fixed. The value of the ring won't ever decrease.
  3. http://www.subway.com/subwayroot/default.aspx Subway is having a customer appreciation sale in December. Cold Cut Combo or Meatball Marinara 6" subs for $2!
  4. It really depends on your gf. However Diamond quality would need to be a factor.... Value of diamonds depends on the quality. You can get the rating from your jeweler. However, keep in mind the value of a diamond will never decrease like the value of the ring material.

  6. Tried googling them and the price is basically the same. The difference being the shipping costs. Zumba.com has different shipping rates for different areas and this gives me a $4 savings over the zumbafitness.com. Ebay is mostly new at the same price with higher shipping. Amazon.com is higher with no shipping (basically the same total as Ebay). I love the energy of working out with a group, but I am also a dedicated at home fitness person. Either way I love Zumba and will continue to do it.
  7. I love doing the Zumba classes that are offered through my employer. However they divided the classes into two times and the one time I can actually make it isn't getting enough interest to hold the class. I am looking to purchase the Zumba total body transformation set (DVD's, toning sticks, etc) through the website but was wondering if anyone here had found them cheaper than $59.95 or without shipping costs. TIA
  8. My toaster is dying a slow death. Anyone got a recommendation on a good 2 slice toaster? The B&M stores around me are Target, WalMart, Shopko, KMart. These stores carry Oster and Procter Silex, Hamilton Beach, Sunbeam. Looking for a toaster that can handle waffles, bagels and bread. Only need a 2 slice. TIA
  9. She did go back and got this explanation.... because the laptop she purchased was the last one and was set-up to be their demo computer they charged her for that set-up. She took your advice (thanks!) and told them she didn't want this service and wasn't asked if she wanted it. They refunded her the money, but still gave her the set-up/restore disc. I wonder how often this happens to people and if they notice.
  10. A friend of mine went to Best Buy today to purchase a laptop. After paying for the laptop and getting into her car she realized they charged her for a PC Set-up and Restore CD for $99. They charged this to her without asking if she wanted it. Is this common practice for Best Buy to add this CD to your new computer/laptop purchase? I figured you can make your own set-up/restore CD once you have your laptop up and running.
  11. The TRU flyer in today's paper had a $50 gift card. http://www.toysrus.com/shop/index.jsp?categoryId=2255956
  12. I found a link that has specifics - used to be listed at sams club.com http://dealnews.com/Toshiba-Satellite-AMD-Sempron-2.1-GHz-16-Laptop-for-398-6-s-h/342496.html
  13. Do you have any specifics on the laptop? I haven't received the ad yet. TIA
  14. I returned "the Book" today at Menards. I gotta say, the Menards we have is great. I explained the entire situation to them and they were very eager to listen and know about my experiences with the Argus customer support. I warned the personnel at Menards they may have a lot of people returning their "Book" after Christmas because of the upgrade problems. I was able to get all my money back. The good news is I bought the Kindle Wi-Fi today for my Mom at Staples (again another store with great customer service). We invited my parents to come out for the football game and some steaks on the grill tomorrow and I plan on giving it to her then. She will be so excited!
  15. Thanks Kibit13. I plan on getting her a Kindle. Shouldn't get any problems there. I wonder about others that may have purchased this for a christmas present and will have these problems a month from now. Hopefully if they read this thread they will check out their unit before wrapping it.
  16. I wanted to get an e-reader for my Mom. Her eyesight is failing and she loves to read. I figured the best way to remedy this is get her an e-reader so she can enlarge the print. When I was that Menards had an e-reader "The Book" by Argus on sale on BF for $69.99 I got excited and purchased one. I am very disappointed. I spent the following weekend setting up the e-reader and took it into work on Monday to get the wi-fi registered. The registration didn't work so I called customer service. After being on hold for 10 minutes I got a message that said to leave my name and number and I would be contacted. By the end of the work day I hadn't received a call back so I sent the service department an e-mail. On Tuesday I found a software update on their website and figured I would try that. Only to find that the update would load on my computer. Wednesday I called customer service again and received the same "please leave a message" line again. After that I called their office number and explained that I hadn't received any call back from customer service in over 48 hours. Within 10 minutes a customer service rep called me back. It seems that even though the e-reader is compatible with 64 bit operating systems the update isn't. Their options to me were to mail them the e-reader and they would update it, exchange it at the store in hopes I would get an updated model or find someone's computer that was 32 bit and do the update there. Maybe I my judgement right now is clouded by frustration, but these options don't seem customer friendly to me. The company won't send me an update file that is 64 bit compatible. I called the company back to express my frustration with the limitations of their system and they suggested I take the e-reader back and get my money back. I am taking option #4 and returning "The Book" to Menards. Definitely not a good deal!
  17. My Menards experience this year was great! My friend and I didn't get there (intentionally) until about 7:10am and we found a parking stall right near the doors (even though most were parking in the grassy area near the parking lot or any where else they could find that resembled a parking stall). We entered the store to find a check out line that was at least 50 people long - they were checking out people at the customer service desk. There were no carts available, but there were employees waiting to answer any questions on where to find merchandise. We picked up the e-reader, the children's shopping cart, the wildlife digital camera, 2 rifle cases and quick clamps. The only item they were completely out of were the digital picture frames. We then made our way to the center of the store to find the shortest (ha ha) line to check out. Lo and behold we did find a line that was smaller than the rest by at least half the number of people. It took us only 20 mintues to get through the line! It was a great experience. Menards stocks up on their door busters so you aren't having to fight or wait in freezing temps (Wisconsin) to get what you want. This store is on my list for next year.
  18. I bought a Wii game on 11/20 at Target. Best Buy has the same game for $13 less in their flyer for the Black Friday weekend. It doesn't appear to be a doorbuster, but the quantity is limted to 6 per store. What are your opinions on Target price matching this item?
  19. Found a 1/2 off sale!!!! Local salon is getting rid of their inventory of Jane Iredale cosmetics. Plus it is only 1 block from my work! Reviews on Make-up alley are really great so this is the direction I am going for now. Thanks to everyone for their help.
  20. Bare Escentuals is very tempting, however I would really like to be able to try it before buying it or to talk with a make-up professional about it. Queen - awesome site (makeupalley.com) Loved it and joined. Thanks for the heads up. Anyone here try Origins cosmetics? If so what is your opinion?
  21. LOL - Thanks Buckeye. I am very tempted to try Bare Minerals. Maybe next time I am in Madison I will stop by their store.
  22. There are usually bundles between now and Christmas that include the Wii fit bundled with it. They upped the ante a while ago by bundling the game Wii Sports Resort in the normal price. Now they have a special edition Red Mario Wii at Target and Best Buy http://www.target.com/Limited-Console-Super-Mario-Nintendo/dp/B0045FEEAS/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&searchView=grid5&keywords=mario%20wii&fromGsearch=true&sr=1-15&qid=1289255364&rh=&searchRank=target104545&id=Limited%20Console%20Super%20Mario%20Nintendo&node=1038576%7C1287991011&searchSize=30&searchPage=1&searchNodeID=1038576%7C1287991011&searchBinNameList=subjectbin%2Cprice%2Ctarget_com_primary_color-bin%2Ctarget_com_size-bin%2Ctarget_com_brand-bin&frombrowse=0 This is a good deal as the game is worth about $45. Just keep looking at the ads as they come out each week - Sams Club and Costco usually have great bundles as well.
  23. I currently use Mary Kay Mineral Powder Foundation and I am looking for a change. I need something with good coverage (adult acne, redness, etc.) and that will absorb the oil my skin produces through out the day without sliding off. Bare Minerals would be a choice, but I am a brick and mortar store type and there isn't a store within 20 miles of me that sells it. There is a Boston Store in our local mall that carries the usual Clinique, Estee Lauder, Lacome and at this time of year there are specials.... What recommendations could you give for the brand and any sales or combo specials that are worth the price? TIA
  24. Thanks for all the tips here. Went to JCP on Sat. found a coat I wanted, along with a few other things. Bought the other things but not the coat. Got a survey option on my receipt.... went home, did the survey and got a coupon for 15% off. Found the $10 off $50 coupon in another thread. Went back to JCP on Sunday stacked the coupons and got a $200 wool/cashmere blend pea coat for $43.00!
