  1. I appreciate all the suggestions, but like Petalmom said I think he already has a bunch of Cubs stuff. I know he appreciates baseball in general and collects baseball cards and autographs off of e-bay. There was a travel shoe polish kit at Kohls on sale this weekend. With our sloppy weather I wonder if he would appreciate having that at work? What type of book would you suggest Petalmom?
  2. I have a new boss this year. We have been working together for about 6 months now. He is very business like, soft spoken and a big Cubs fan. I am brainstorming ideas on what to get him for Christmas. I budgeted to spend around $25. He travels 30 miles on an interstate to get to work (S. Wisconsin area). I really want to stay away from gift cards. Any suggestions?
  3. Deal Grabber - where did you see the Walmart Wii sale listed?
  4. My Target just lost out to Walmart because they said they wouldn't price adjust. I just purchased the Wii system there ($20 gift card for buying it) and I wanted to get the Wii play with extra remote. They said they wouldn't price adjust it on Friday (on sale BF for $39). So I bought the Wii system and went to Walmart for the Wii play/remote and they said they would price adjust on Fri to any other local advertized price. So now I only have to stop in to get my $10 back.
  5. What are the odds that the PS3 will be available on line from Walmart on BF for the same price? If so, what time does BF start on line?
  6. No, I meant price matching at Walmart or Target with the Best Buy ad. The game I want is pictured in the ad scan. :)
  7. Price matching - never thought of that. Great idea! If there is a problem at either Walmart or Target not having the game, getting to Best Buy later and taking my chances seems to be the way to go.
  8. I apprecite the info Marcster. I have a co-worker that also works part time at BB. She is going to check on the game that I am interested in and will let me know how many they currently have in stock and if any more is anticipated. The BB in my little town (little compared to the areas around the big cities) only gets about 100 people in line. My co-worker said that they are setting up a maze of sorts in the store for BF. People in line will be given a map of how to navigate the store and where the items they are looking for will be found. She felt the games would be placed at the beginning of the maze. If that is the case (she is going to double check) and am hoping that everyone will be focused on the "big ticket" items and will bypass the games.
  9. Never mind, I just did the math from pricing on Amazon.... Total for all those items together is $328.95. only a savings of $14.95
  10. I just priced this bundle on Walmart.com..... 1 Wii console 1 xtra nunchuk 1 xtra remote w/ Wii play 1 xtra game (any suggestions?) 1 Quad dock w/battery packs Total $314.00..... Is this a good price?
  11. I just got a mailing from Oriental Trading for 20% off any order through Dec. 3. Anyone is welcome to use the code KH1030024
  12. Last year on each table we had one wrapped gift, a pair of mittens and a pair of dice. Each person to a turn in rolling the dice, if it came up double 6's they had to put on the mittens and unwrap the gift. There were many layers of wrapping paper so the game continued until the person who actually unwrapped the last layer was the winner.
  13. Neat idea Stacy - this way everyone will get a different cookie recipe to take home. Will everyone have to bring in a cookie sample as well?
  14. Thanks dealluvr! I found the exact one I was looking for http://http://www.santalady.com/xmasgame/lftrt.html
  15. Thanks for the info Marcster.
  16. A couple of years ago we played an office party game where each table had a present in the middle of it. The person at the head of the table would start with the present and "Santa" would read a special version of "The Night Before Christmas". This version had the words "right" and "left" throughout the reading. As Santa read the story if the word right was said then they would pass the present to their right and if the word left was said then they would pass the present to their left. The person holding the present at the end of the story was the winner. I can no longer find this special version of "the Night Before Christmas". Does anyone have a copy they could share, or could you point me to a web page that I could find a copy? TIA!
  17. I'm a lazy BF shopper. I don't hang out all night, but I do try to get to stores about 15 to 20 minutes after they open and go in to get the items I want. I don't shop for the big ticket things. I usually go for the smaller items. If I want to get some of the games for Wii at BB, will getting there about 15 minutes after they open still allow me a good selection? Specifically the Bash Party game.
  18. I just checked out on the wal_art website their ad for 11-15 through 11-21. For those of us looking for a deal on the Wii it looks like we are out of luck for now. They have the Wii listed in this ad but for the normal $199 price without any type of bundle. We can only hope for a BF deal from Wal.
  19. Dell.com has the Wii for $179.99 plus free shipping. It is posted all over! This might be a viable option if the Walmart rumor is really too good to be true.
  20. Boom Blox. We played it with friends and it is a great game for kids and adults. Kind of a reverse Jenga. http://boomblox.ea.com/home.action
  21. Same here Angelashly. I doubt you can find a better deal than that one.
  22. Flowers and Dinner would be a good way to try and get the info out of your wife. Or quite possibly jewelry.....
  23. Thanks vhoperformance. That would be awesome if it is true.
  24. tinkrbel, which store is this rumor posted under? I can't find it.
