  1. Got my $10, thanks for the heads up!

I have decided that what my family needs more than anything in the world is an ice cream maker! :sidesplit

I bought the Ninja Creami and took it back as soon as I figured out that you have to freeze the ingredients for up to 24 hours before you decide to make the ice cream. I want something where I don't have to plan ahead other than to have ingredients on hand (and I refuse to deal with ice and salt), and I don't want to have to keep a bowl in the freezer all the time. This means I apparently need a compressor ice cream maker. Hopefully Prime Days don't disappoint!!!

That’s what we want also. If you see one on a good deal let me know :)

  2. We need to get some also. We have some areas in the front that really need it. I wish the weather would get nice here. We moved this past winter also and I REALLY need to pressure wash the sidewalk leading to the front door, the porch, the retaining wall all around the front of the house where the plants and bushes are. I also need to trim all the bushes.

  3. Gosh darn it… That Vegas trip I went on at start of March caused me to miss my monthly post, I think. Sad face!!! Anyway, happy April folks. I’m still here. Just apparently not in the club anymore for this year? (Brad could confirm if my reminders failed me.)

Hope my GD fam is well. Been crazy busy on this end and losing track of time far too often as a result. Days are running together. I’ll finish another trip around the sun and start a fresh one next Thursday. [emoji4][emoji106]

Ya I just looked at your profile and in Posts I've Made it doesn't show a post for March. :(

  4. Happy February!! I'm so glad January went by so fast! My daughter is a national athlete, so we just returned from ice cold Lake Placid after a week of training, followed by the Empire State Winter Games, where she placed 3rd in her age division. We are off to Park City, Utah in 2.5 weeks for Youth Nationals. I need some good deals on warmer winter outerwear, for sure!!attachicon.gifTMK_1416.jpgattachicon.gifIMG_20220205_155117_372.jpg

Thats awesome. Congrats to your daughter. :)

  5. Checking in from safe at home here in SE MI. Had to go into my office today in spite of the predicted snow. Cleared out of there just before 2, usually takes 25 mins to get home - not today. Roads felt like some giant spilled his supersized slushie all over them. Made it home in just under an hour. Not going back out tonight.

Counting the days till Vegas trip (3/1). So ready to be away from this weather. lol

Last night after finishing snow blowing and then having dinner, I decided I had worked off the calories so it was time to have some bumpy cake that we had bought this past weekend when we had family over. For anyone who isn't MI based Bumpy Cake is from a place here called Sanders and it's a devils food cake topped with mounds of their buttercream and then completely topped with a fudge ganache. I am not a chocolate person but this is the one thing I will always have some of.

  6. Note the 'return for any reason' terms and return it at the end of the return period.  Buy a new snow blower when the rest of the world is shopping for bathing suits.

I may need to do that. I think if all we got here was the light powdery snow it would be great but its a crap shoot as to which type will arrive. I mean it worked, just took me far longer than it should. That and I think I'm getting too old to not have a self propelled one any longer. :sidesplit

  7. Just finished using the snow blower and then the shovel. Super heavy snow today so it didn’t go as well as I wanted with the new snow blower. It did well but I had to go back over some places a few times. My last big one I didn’t have to do that. :)

    Still beats shoveling everything.

  8. In 2002, I bought this beast of a snow thrower -- a 9 Horsepower, Electric Start, 29-inch Dual Stage Craftsman snow blower. Twenty years (and a few parts) later, it's still going strong. But it's huge and 90% of the time, it's unnecessary. In 2018, I bought a Craftsman 88694 26" 208cc Dual-Stage Zero-Turn Snowblower. It's smaller (5 HPish), quieter, and a lot easier to use with remote chute controls and zero turn. I gottadeal. It was $700 minus $257 in Shop Your Way points.

First time I changed the oil, I looked for a manual online because I thought it would be easier than sifting through my collection of manuals. Instead of finding the oil type and capacity, I found this youtube video about installing a light on the machine. So I ordered the parts. $34.78. The parts came in on the day of a big snow storm. After I cleared the driveway, I found them in my mailbox. Next morning I installed a light on my snow blower.

When I finished, as I was admiring my handywork, my youngest son comes into the garage...

    Paul: "What are you doing?"

Me: "I just installed a light on the snow blower."

Paul: "Are you going to get rid of the old one?"

    Me: "No. It works fine."

Paul: "But it doesn't have a light."

Me: "I don't need a light. I've been clearing the driveway without a light for 20 years. I could clear this driveway in my sleep."

Paul: "Then why did you put a light on the new snow blower?"

Me: "Because I can. You'll understand when you get a little older."

Hope you get your blizzard. Hope it ends in the dark. I really wonder how well that light works...

Ya they don’t get we don’t always do things because we need to we do them because we can. [emoji4]

I told the wife since we went and bought the snowblower that it will probably be 70 degrees and we will get no snow. [emoji23]
