For any of you that were looking for the boxed DVD sets that WM is going to have on BF for $19.99. I just got the KMart ad in the mail for this week and they have them for $16.99. The picture is shpwing West Wing, Dukes of Hazzard, and Friends. I'm not sure if it's just those three or if that is just the three that they pictured. Better hurry it says no rain checks and sale ends 10/31. I was planning on getting some of the Friends sets for my hubby that day, but I'm heading out later tonight so I guess I'm making a stop at KMart!! correction...sale ends 10/29!!!

Most 24 hour WMs shut down early on Thanksgiving to get ready for BF. And the ones that stay open won't let you get into the BF items before 5. As a matter of fact most keep the pallets of BF items covered until 5 am.

OMG!!! How ungrateful!!

Thanks!!! -
I wanted to get this Cali girl barbie w 4x4 Jeep that weas like $7 last year for my cousin , but when I got to TRU I couldn't find one. Well I walked around the store looking for one that might have been sit down somewhere else. Well I finally found one that was sitting in a cart that was abandoned. I ended up taking it. However, before anyone thinks I'm awful, I stalked the cart for like 15-20 minutes. I stood a good 10 feet away from it to see if anyone had just left it sitting there to go get another item. Also I asked everyone that I could find within 20 feet of the cart if it was there's. So I put in a huge effort to make sure that no one was claiming it. I guess someone just decided they didn't want it after all.

When we get our new house bulit we plan on getting our daughter one and she just turned 3. I think it's ok for younger children to have their own tv just as long as you monitor what they watch and don't let them sit and watch it all day.

I'm a big fan of Circuit City! We are big on electronics. We are media junkies, so I love the $9.99 cds (always a big hit with my hubby).

Anything with peanut butter in it? Peanut butter is a major cause of migrains!!! I love PB but have to stay away from it b/c I was diagnosed with migrains at age 3.

For anyone with younger children, my daughter (3) got the Care Bear Share A Story for her birthday from her grandparents (which by the way there went one of the presents I was gonna get her for x-mas). I thinks its great for anychild that doesn't know how to read yet or is just learning to read!! It even has a fairy sort of sound to let them know to turn the page in the book. It would even be great for a baby b/c you can set it next to them when you're busy and it will read them a story so you can get what you need done. I would highly recomend it!!

WalMart Main (non-"Early Bird") BF Ad Photos Now Available
SuperMommy replied to Brad's topic in 2005
WOO-HOO!!!! I love this site!! I wish I would have joined last year. I looked at the lists of items but never looked in the forums or saw that you could actually download the ads!! I am telling everyone I know about this site. We had my daughters b-day party this past weekend and I was telling my whole family about this site and about how you guys had already gotten the WM BF early bird ad!! They were all like "wow, this early". I didn't tell them what was on it, but I told them exactly where they could find it!! P.S. Can anyone else tell what the other box sets are on p.18? I can make out Friends and Dukes of Hazzard but I can't tell what the others are. -
Have you ever run into a person you were BF shopping for??
SuperMommy replied to Tessangel's topic in 2005
Two years ago when we were BF shopping there was something I wanted to get for my grandmother, but she was shopping with us. So my aunt distracted her in another part of the store while I bought the item and carried it out to the car. -

What is the earliest you start shopping for Christmas?
SuperMommy replied to Tessangel's topic in 2005
Same here. I mostly wait for BF. But if I happen to see something during the year that I just can't pass up for someone I go ahead and get it. My earliest this year was a pearl necklace, braclet, and earring set I picked up for my mom back in June. -
I love to get the snow globes from JC Penny. We collect snow globes for my daughter. So they're a neat addition to her collection. Boy I barely made it last year, they only had like 5 left!!! They are also a good peace offering since I leave her with my father to go shopping all day.

Just to clarify...the scratch off tickets were handed out as you walked in the door that morning.

Yes, they do have certain items on sale. Also last year they had sratch off tickets that had a certain percentage off. I think they started at 10% off but I'm not sure how high they went.

I see you have already got a list of charities for this contest, but if it is run again you should look into the Ronald McDonald House Carity!!! In case you're not familiar with this charity here is some info. Everyday newborns are taken NICUs (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit). Most of the children in there are premies, but there are others that are in there for different reasons. My daughter was in there b/c she had severe brain damage at birth. The RMHC provides a "home" across from hospitals that have NICUs and PICUs for parents of these children. There are fully stocked kitchens for the guests to help themselves to, libraries, and big "living rooms" for the guest to relax in. And each parent or set of parents stay in what is like a hotel room (but much homier). The RMH we stayed in was an absolute saviour for us b/c our daughter was in the NICU for about a month and we were just across the street from her and could go see her anytime we wanted. Otherwise we would have only been able to see her maybe a couple hours a day since we lived about an 1 1/2 hours away from the hospital she was in.

I started doing that 2 years ago. It is good so that I don't repeat the same gift to someone. Also, every year I know exactly who I've got to buy for. I carry a copy of the list with me on BF too. That way when I buy something for someone I can write it down so that I know I've already got their gift and don't buy multiple gifts for someone.

Do you pick up stuff for friends & family (as a favor, not gifts) on BF?
SuperMommy replied to Marcster's topic in 2005
ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Not to be mean, but I can barely get all done with all the shopping I want to get done. And most of the time come home without a few of the things I was hoping for b/c I wasn't able to get there in time. -
Anyone have family/friends that they hate to shop with on BF?
SuperMommy replied to AuntJamelle's topic in 2005
It's probably best that you just don't tell her about it, so don't feel guilty. I have a 3 year old that is severly mentally disabled and I get left out of things with my family alot. I know they don't ask me to go b/c if I took her it's very difficult and I don't have anyone but my father that can watch her sometimes. But, I know they don't mean anything by it, they just know it would be too difficult. But most of the time it's better just not to know. -
Seems to me that putting out a fake ad would only upset consumers. I would think that it would make people like us, that can't wait till Thanksgiving to see the ads, angry enough to boycott that store. I know I would!!!!
-
We make a family day of it. I usually go with some of my aunts, cousins, my stepmom, and my grandmother. We'll be the bunch of goofballs you see running through the stores and yelling back and forth.
-
Hey...U wouldn't happen to live in Rome, GA would you? There is a Waffle House right across from our mall and Circuit City. I live in Calhoun but do my BF shopping in Rome.

I worked retail for years at several different stores and let me tell you...the next time you have something like that happen just ask for the district managers name and number. They'll jump real fast then b/c 99% of DMs motto is the customer is always right (b/c they feel if they make you happy once you'll come back again). And they will often fuss at the manager or employee for something like that.

Ok, this is horrible!! I'm only 22 yet I'm married & expecting 2nd clild and already I have lost touch with "what's cool". Pathetic, I know. But anyway..my husband got an MP3 player last year for X-mas from my grandmother. He really liked the idea of it, but we ended up taking it back b/c we couldn't really figure out how to download songs on it. Once we managed to find a way to download some songs we were only able to get 3 songs on it. Also, we used some old songs I had downloaded from Napster (u know..back when it was free). We have tons of CDs, so he would like to be able to get songs from those to download on there but we don't know if it can be done or how to do it. Also, I don't know the difference between and I POD and a MP3 Player. I would like to get him another one this year but it won't be any good if we still don't know how to use it. I would love some advice if anyone knows anything about them.
