Yeah, ATL is a good little drive from Columbus.

Don't know where in GA you're at but they just opened a new one in Kennesaw, close to Town Center. Which is better for me b/c it's closer than the one that's off of I-285.

I know this won't be benificial for everyone, but hopefully it will be helpful to some. :) BTW, just wanted to add that the gift card offers are for the entire BF weekend, not just BF. Also, if anyone has a ? about any of the items just ask and I will ask my hubby. (He's the Store Manager of the one here in Calhoun).

Thanks so much for that!! Great idea!! I talk about my DD that is disabled on here all the time!!!

Any one have a clue whats it like to work on Black friday
SuperMommy replied to nathanr1229's topic in 2005
But, what you don't tend to see is that when there is a seriously irrate customer that is pitching a HUGE fit the manager has to deal with those!! And in most stores the manager has no control over how much of an item they have, how many you can buy, etc. Most of the time it is corporate that decides those issues. And as far as the manager standing around, that again is mostly only in bigger stores. I was a Store Manager of a smaller store (before I quit to stay home with my disabled daughter) and I was expected to and did more than my staff!! It was MY job to keep that store running!! But I don't come on here pitching a fit like *some people* b/c it's just part of the job. Every job has its crap ends. This guys just needs to grow up and realize that life is a b*tch and there's not awhole lot you can do about it besides try to get through it as smoothly as you can. -
I love Express but being prego I can't wear anything from there this year. But I could still find my hubby some stuff from there. He loves it too.

How many Black Fridays have you shopped prior to this year?

This will only be my 3rd year. But believe me, it will forever be a tradition!!! -
Ok, dont' know if I should tell this one on myself, but what the heck!! Last year I really wanted to get the Fit n Fun Care Bear for my DD. They had it on sale at KMart for $16.99 and I think it was regularly like $24.99. Well we weren't planning on going to Kmart so I just was gonna carry the Kmart ad and have Wal-Mart PM it. Well, we went to TRU, CC, and the mall first. By the time we got to Wal-Mart it was like 10 min. till 11 o'clock. So I knew I had to hurry. Well my cousin got out of the car with me and we were running to get it and get in line in time . Well, I had worn some jeans that were big on me so that I would be comforatable. They didn't give me trouble earlier but when I was running they did. They were falling down, not far, but enough to show the top of my undies (and I had on a thong). But with Care Bear in hand it was hard to keep them up. And everyone was looking at us like we were stupid b/c we were literally sprinting. Well, to make it UNWORTH it, I got to the line with like 3 min left to go and was looking over the Kmart ad in my hand when I noticed (just as I got to the register) that I had read it wrong. The sale was for ALL DAY!!! So, I had made a fool out of myself for nothing. Not that stupid I know, but it's the best I got!!

I've never played an instrument but my hubby plays lots of instruments. I asked him and he said you should be really careful about buying him a real trumpet. He said they are made of very soft metal and they will ding easily. And he said that once they get dings in them they don't play right. He said it was very easy to ruin them. So, if you do plan on getting him a real one you should only let him play it with supervision so he doesn't ruin it. He also said that you have to keep the valves oiled and keep them maintnenced or they will ruin. But if you are gonna get him a real one he said you're best bet is getting a used one from a music store, Wal Mart, or he said to try Sears cataloges. He said he thought they carried them for a decent price.

Hey, if that's what you wanna do then do it!! I couldn't tell you what I would do b/c I don't have that problem. I would just do whatever you and your DH want!! It's you that is either staying in the hotel or having to drive and get up earlier!!
-
You're welcome. Just b/c I don't agree with Bush doesn't make what our troops are having to endure any less important. They are brave men and women and I hope everyday for their safe return. And feel for the families who are missing those that are deployed and for those that have lost their husband/wife/father/mother/etc. :)

Wow!! Great prices. Too bad they don't help me any. But the military families deserve great deals!! I don't support the fight, but I support our troops who are fighting!!!

This is a little different but sort of similar to iiiisx349's idea. You can have everyone bring the gift (and I would set an amout, like $5 or $10 gifts just whatever amount you want). And again everyone draws a number. However you all sit in a circle and put all the gifts in the middle. First you call number 1. They get up and get a gift. Then you call number 2. They have the option to get a gift from the pile or to steal #1's gift. You continue this until you get all the way through the numbers. Then you go through and everyone that is left without a gift (b/c theirs was stolen by someone else) goes and choses another gift from the pile. Then once everyone has a gift we like to change it up and tell everyone to pass their gift to the person to the right. Or pass them 2 to the right or something like that. We always do this at my grandmothers every X-Mas. It's funny to watch people stealing gifts from others.

We usually get up between 7-8 to open presents. And of course we have to put on the coffee first and I have to get looking halfway presentable (not like I just woke up from a hangover). Just b/c pf pics and stuff. The first x-mas I looked (in the pics) like I had woken up from a hangover!! lol

Good job!! I had a doodle bear once!! Those were the good old days!!

Interesting artical, but where was GottaDeal.com mentioned? I think they forgot something!!!

I know in another thread someone suggested carrying an oversized tote bag to carry items in so they wouldn't have to worry about a cart.

On Black Friday, have you ever gone to a store that wasn't running a BF sale?
SuperMommy replied to MarkRaby's topic in 2005
Sometimes I will stop in another store in the mall. but it's usually after the 12-1 sales that most of the stores have. I make sure to get all those first. -
No one knows when the ads will be leaked so you'll just have to keep checking on the Kohls and for the stereo. And yes, Goodys does usually have special BF prices on certain items. Last year they also gave out scratch off tickets as you walked in the door that had a certain percentage off you entire purchase (with the exception of a few items).
