  1. That looks like a pretty nice TV. You had to pay $1799 + tax, and then get a $300 MIR, right?
  2. Yeah, but for $200 more I can get something that is another 10" TvBob, that link you posted looks like a forum war. Going to be fun to read :) (Anyone going to comment about the DVD player?? )
  3. Just wanted to quote some good information from the post Ross linked to earlier. Also, doesn't appear that the pinned threads are getting much attention now, at least the DVD/TV one, which still has two questions unanswered
  4. Hey Ross, glad to see you still up... or are you already in line and taking someone's wireless connection?
  5. Hey waw4, what DVD player are you using? I was looking at the Philips DVP 642 awhile ago, but never went through and got it. Thanks for the advice everyone.
  6. Your reasons make sense to get an HD over an ED, but what if you are not going to be using it for HD- and instead mostly use it for DVDs? People are telling me that DVDs are going to actually look better on the EDTV compared to the HD. Of course the HD channels will look a LOT better on the HD than the ED, but that's not what I am going to use the ED for.
  7. Anyone have a suggestion for a DVD player that will output quality sound and picture? I have a 5.1 sound system I would like to take advantage of. The TV will be an EDTV.
  8. I can understand how that reason would work for some people. By the time I pay for HD TV, I will have enough money to afford a very nice 60" HDTV- so that doesn't worry me too much, but still a valid point.
  9. - LOL, that is so ****ed up.
  10. I understood that logic, but don't know about the quality differences. Someone was telling me that I will see DVDs better on the edtv.

    DVI Cable?

    - A lot better than a 99% off sale on those Monster Cables
  12. Just got done complaining to someone about the fact WalMart isn't going to have the 42" HDTV version, but instead the EDTV version. I don't plan on watching too much HD, at least for now. I'll be sticking mainly to DVDs for now, and it seems like the EDTV is a better choice for that. I had a strong feeling the 42" EDTV Plasma was going to be a crappy deal, but if it plays DVDs at an awesome quality, I might end up wanting it after all. But $1000 for something just for DVDs and standard TV? Heh, seems a bit too much. Anyone care to comment? This information seems to be a pretty good explanation in general, but I don't want to base my decision only on that. Btw, I CAN wait 6 months, another year, etc., but some deals are too good to pass up. I didn't see RossMan jumping in on this one, so I still am not sure if it is actually worth it.

    DVI Cable?

You don't need an expensive name: http://www.cablesforless.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD&ProdID=2374
  14. - They just have it out now to let everyone know it is going to be the EDTV one, and not the one everyone thought it was going to be.
  15. - The ad said it was going ot be $968 I thought? But it sure isn't looking good!!!!!!
  16. Just got off the phone with my friend who is going to join me. Figure two chairs and a deck of cards will keep us entertained. My friend and I both do magic tricks with cards, might end up having some fun. :)
  17. The walmart I am going to is a 24 hr. I just called them again to get some more details, talked to a sweetheart named Christina who said I should bring a chair and sit next to the place the TV is going to be. And then at 5am, the TVs will be available for purchase, and it will be a whoever can grab the fastest type of thing. Looks like I'll be bringing my gun. - lol, I like this guy
  18. If I decide to head over to walmart for my TV, the sales rep I talked to said I should arrive around 2am. I thought there were some people last year who discussed a good plan for going for a single item at one store only... I want ONE item, and that item only. I heard that some stores will only let the first 50 people or so in, is this true with WalMart? Just looking for suggestions...
  19. I talked to someone at WalMart about 20 minutes ago who confirmed that the "Viore V42PD45M 42" HD Ready 16:9 Widescreen Plasma with speakers & stand" will be sold for the $968 price. However, you have to arrive 3 hours prior, which I might end up doing just for that sexy tv. Can anyone convince me NOT to do this?
  20. Brad, this seems to be similar to the old $799 off $1499 deals. Even though the coupon is 25%, the prices are down pretty good. Is this right?
  21. Will the 35% work on the 19"? If so I will be able to call back and complain some more to get a better discount. [edit]It looks like that has been answered in the upcoming deals thread[/edit]
  22. So at 6am my account seemed to be locked out, and then I requested it to be unlocked (by submitting the form), waited for 30 minutes, nothing came back. Went back to sleep, woke up again at 10:30 and still no e-mail. I went into the support chat, everyone I talked to was a COMPLETE IDIOT. I called the sales line, tried to order everything just to find out 20 minutes on hold resulted in not being able to place the order over the phone, then I explained my problem, and the response was "Sir, can you tell me your concern?" I said it one more time, and she replied with, "What is your concern sir?" I said, I have no concern, only a problem. "If you have a concern, I can address that for you." After that I'd rather not say my reply, as you wouldn't be able to read it, because it would like something like ^*^#^$ *^$*^ #(*$ & *^^$# after the forum removes all the offensive language. At 1PM I just created a new account, placed the order, and everything went through. I guess in the future, I know I can call 1800WWWDELL if I ever need someone to yell at.
  23. How is this for a filler item for a 9300? http://accessories.us.dell.com/sna/ProductDetail.aspx?sku=A0098193&c=us&l=en&cs=19&category_id=5486&first=true&page=productlisting.aspx I remember my deal, $512.13 shipped, amazing huh? Almost 1.5 years I think since I bought it.
