Well, if you waited until 1/31/2008 to return everything then you'd really be out of luck, as laptops have a 14 day return period. So with their holiday return policy, you'd have 14 days from Christmas. I'd suggest you keep trying. One CSR will say no, but another might say yes. But it will likely be a difficult fight, as GS services are high profit sales. They're not going to want to lose their profit margin. There's almost no profit from the actual computer. It's the services and accessories where they make their money.

I'm sitting out this year too. Most of the stuff I buy on BF is for myself. This year I just didn't see anything really worth going out for. I still got caught up in the fever a bit and was checking things online and constantly checking the boards here to see what people are up to. There were many things I missed in the ads when I scanned through them. So thanks to the great community here I was able to pick some things up online. The other factor that kept me in is I am now working 2 full time jobs. So having some time to sit at home and relax definitely sounded better. Also when I do see something I'd like I just have to ask myself "when would I use it" and that takes care of that. I still might go out later today just for something to do, but no definite plan to yet. I didn't realize I sat last year out too. I thought I went out but looking at my posts I didn't have any posts last year. Maybe next year since I'll have my credit cards paid down from working 2 jobs. Then I can go spoil myself.

Have to give credit and thanks to hannahs momma, she's the first one that pointed it out. In fact, I had missed them in the ad when I perused it. I didn't read the reviews on Amazon, but I know their larger frames have decent reviews. Not the best, but for the price they're pretty good. That's good enough for me. I ended up ordering 2 of their 7" frames back in the summer.

I picked up 4 of the digital picture frame key chains @ $12.99 ea. Even better than the 4 pack for $80 I saw earlier on GD.

One thing to remember is the store doesn't set the warranty, the manufacturer does. So although the deal at CC might have been better, we can't blame BB. They just carry the product. Plus, I think anyone that gets a laptop without getting an extended warranty/service plan is crazy. A laptop isn't like a desktop where if a part goes you can just buy a replacement. Everything is basically proprietary and built-in. Not to mention the cost to replace the screen, should that go bad. I haven't bought a laptop in about 5 years b/c I've gotten mine replaced under the service plan.

I wouldn't be worrying about it at all if your card isn't getting charged and you got the $250 off the computer. That would be a win/win promotion!

We've had some threads about how much we budgeted and how much we spent. I'm wondering how much did people save on BF? My overall savings were 70%! I figured this out by listing the regular price, the price I paid (on sale price or after instant rebates), and the final price (after mail-in rebates). My regular price total was about $930. I spent about $750. After rebates, my total will be about $275. The lowest discount was 50%. My highest discount was 100% (FAR). So I'd say my BF was well worth it!!

I was starting to feel burnt out just before BF. With many of the deals I wanted available online I thought about just ordering online and avoiding the crowds. But at the last minute I gave in and am glad I did. Although it was cold, I enjoyed standing in line outside of BB. And although my CompUSA was crazy, it was fun too. I feel a little burnt out now too. It's like I got these great deals but now what? I also miss checking these boards for new deals all the time.

Last year I made a gift basket for my mom. Target had a bunch of bath stuff for $1. I found an oval wire basket for like $2 to put it in. And I grabbed a hand towel to wrap around the inside of the basket and make it look better. I ended up being able to make it for half the price of what B&BW and other places wanted theirs for, plus each bottle in mine was bigger. Plus it hand that hand-made touch.

It's interesting that yours shipped via UPS but mine shipped via FedEx.

Actually, I think when you use BBB they deduct the amount of BBB from the item itself. So if you use $15 in BBB on a $20 item, the item price on the receipt shows $5. If you return the item you would get the reduced price, $5, back.

Wow, that's awesome. I placed my order about 3am on BF and it says it's shipped. But when I check the tracking it doesn't look like its moved from the FedEx terminal. Guess it won't actually leave FedEx until Monday. But the good news is it's shipping from near Harrisburg, so shouldn't take long to get to Pittsburgh.

I bought the 32" Westy, but can't really help you out since I don't have an HD box. I will say that I hooked up my regular Dish receiver through coax just to quickly look at the picture and it's not good at all. The picture is quite fuzzy. I have the S-video out running from my Dish receiver into my TV tuner in my Media Center PC. When watching tv through the computer (connected either VGA or DVI) it looks much better. What component cables are you using? If they're just generic, like the ones that come with the TV it could be the cables. I have noticed a difference in quality with higher end cables like Monster.

At this point I'm about to say it wasn't worth it for me as I think I'm getting sick. Probably from standing out in the cold at Best Buy. Also because I went back to BB last night to pick up something and noticed everything I got on BF was still in stock! So I could have slept in, stayed warm, and went on Saturday when it was much warmer out. But I still enjoyed the experience, especially since it was my first time shopping on BF in 7 years since the years before I was working retail on BF.

Wow, you lucky dog!! I didn't even bother asking about the Xbox 360. I just plan to get it in a few months for my birthday.
