  6. How many pictures can I put on one of these 512 cards?
  7. I'm looking for a digital camera somewhere <$200. I expect to have a need for 100+ photos, so I will need an extra card to go along with it as well. Since I know just about nothing regarding digital cameras, where do I begin?
  8. How are these CPUs compared to a single core Pentium M? I don't need the dual core technology for a laptop, but would rather have a single, faster, cpu.
  9. For an extra $10 you can get 2nd day shipping if you buy here. Either way is a good buy. If you can wait a month or so, you might be able to save another $20-$30. Here is a pretty good one for $220 after $30 MIR: Rosewill R911E 12ms Black 19" 12ms LCD Monitor 250 cd/m2 500:1 Built in Speakers 0.294mm Pixel Pitch - Retail
  10. I had the same question awhile back. I ended up going to Discoun Tire Co aka American Tires Co. I ended up with a pretty good price too.
  11. Turns out BB has a 50 pack of FUJIFILM DVD-Rs for $14.95 after an instant $25 rebate (NOT A MIR).
  12. That is a very good price on blank DVDs.
  13. Beth, It is fairly easy to make your own external drive. All you need is a drive, and then an external enclosure for it. You will usually get a longer warranty, as well as a better hard drive, when you make it yourself. My guess is that it would take a newbie about 5 minutes to make it from all of the parts.
  14. The data I am backup up is something I could lose and not care about, since really is is a copy of something I already have. - And a couple of my friends have had their Seagates die, but that doesn't mean WD is a better drive. What Seagate did you find? This one? I mainly lean towards WD drives due to their very nice secure connect cables.
  15. I need around 500GB of hard drive space, I could settle for 400gb, but somewhere around 500 would be ideal. I can purchase two drives instead of paying a massive amount of a 500gb drive. I have been able to find the following deals so far: - Western Digital Caviar SE WD3200JD 320GB SATA150 - $.362/GB (limit 1) - Western Digital Caviar SE WD2500JS 250GB SATA150 - $.3992/GB (no limit) (shipping to 85233 is included) I've noticed that quite often a drive will incorrectly read the total storage, and a 320GB drive might only hold 300GB of space. Not sure if there is a set % that every drive is off, if not then that might be a deciding factor. I've checked out PriceGrabber, and these two drives seem to be the best deal for having around 500GB of space. I also have the option of going with ATA100/133, but after looking at prices, it appears there isn't much of a price difference (matter of a few dollars) to warrant the slower speed. Any suggestions?
  16. - That seems to be the standard in-store warranty for a plasa. I think $198 for ALL plasma tvs. However, my warranty is an extra year, and costs more than $100 less :) - The DVDs are amazing. I haven't hooked it up to SD yet, but someone else reported that it wasn't that great in SD. I don't plan on using it for HDTV, so I couldn't tell you how it looks with a 1080i signal.
  17. Anyone who has purchased the 42" plasma @ WalMart last Friday, you will want to read this! The rude/stupid electronics customer service rep didn't have a clue about warranties on the plasma tv. At the cash register, I didn't take advantage of purchasing the warranty (that was listed for $198 at the store). I called WalMart.com to inquire about getting an additional warranty for the plasma. According to their website, they only have a warranty for plasmas that are $1500-$2,499 and $2,500+. There isn't one that fits the category of what was purchased last Friday. After some talking around, I was able to the 3 yr extended warranty plan for $88.33 (it is the one named for TV, but in the $599-$999 price range). That's right, this TV comes with a FULL 4 year warranty. The 1st year is the crappy manuf's warranty, and the 2nd-4th are directly from WalMart. I had the WalMart.com employee make a note on that account to say: "This warranty for $88.33 will cover the Viore 42" EDTV, and it is ok to still have the warranty, even though the EDTV has already been purchased." I left WalMart paying $997 + tax, and got the WalMart 3 yr extended service plan for $88.33. Info on warranty plan:
  18. - What cables are the "right cables" ? - Stretching the image wouldn't give a better picture... - Uhh... HD is more expensive than ED. Can you edit your paragraph above so it is a little easier to understand? None of it makes much sense to me.
  19. - You will always be able to tell the difference between an HDTV using a 1080i signal, and an EDTV using a 480p signal.
  20. The thing I hate about these, is you end up getting a ton of other stuff (spam) that you don't want. Such as 50 credit card offers. Add an extra letter to the end of your last name, and you can see what else they send. Although if you were really looking for one of these mags, it's a good deal.
  21. uscboy, what's your username over at AVS?
  22. Without knowing the specific items for sale, nobody can tell you what time they are going to get in line. I think it all comes down to what the item is, the quantity for sale, and the number of people who want it.
