  1. Let me guess - $9.99 video games?
  2. LOL. Hope it works. Still waiting for some Wii games to come down in price on BB also.
  3. You can look at it this way too - do you think they LIKE having to ask for gas and grocery gift cards? I'm sure they put in a lot of miles going to cancer treatments. The Old Chicago gift cards could be because it's close to the medical center? Just trying to see the good in it.
  4. Jeninpa - get him the boxers and the rechargeable batteries (the two least expensive items on the list). hehe.
  5. Here is where you are supposed to be able to type in your zip code and see a store map for the big ticket items locations. Not sure if it's working yet or not because my store's map wasn't available. http://www.walmart.com/catalog/catalog.gsp?cat=542313&povid=cat14503-env172199-module112309-lLink_go
  6. I would try ringing up just the Xbox in one transaction. If they won't let you do another transaction after that you could "remember" that you forgot to pick up something, and go to a different check out line. It may take you a little longer, but then you could try to use the gift card on the 2nd (and subsequent) transactions. It is possible that Target might set their computers to not accept the $50 gift cards the same day. I'm not sure if they do that or not. I know when I get the free $10 card at the pharmacy for transferring a prescription I do use it the same day at the main registers.
  7. I learned this awesome tip last year on here. If you go to the page with all the ads listed, there is a "search ads" field in the top right. You can type in what you are looking for and it will search all of the ads for you. Here is what I found for "Littlest Pet Shop": Toys & Games Kmart Littlest Pet Shop Around the World $19.99 Kohl's Entire Stock of Barbie, Littlest Pet Shop & My Little Pony Toys 40% off Kohl's Entire Stock of Playskool, Barbie, Littlest Pet Shop Toys 50% off [Early Bird Item - Limited Time Only] Meijer Littlest Pet Shop Pairs or Postcard Pets $3.00 Target Littlest Pet Shop Collectible Tin w/ 15 Pets $29.99 Toys R Us Littlest Pet Shop VIP Plush Pets $2.98 Walmart Littlest Pet Shop Get Better Center $9.00 [Early Bird Item - Limited Time Only]
  8. I stopped at Walmart last year later in the day and was able to get everything I wanted. There were a LOT of the cheap movies left and the flash drives, which is what I went for. I think I am going to go to Menards first, and then Walmart later. That way the "big ticket" item people should be out of the way.
  9. The free signature item said not valid with any other offers except $10 off $30.
  10. You can also price match that game at Walmart and save the wait in the Best Buy line. The one year I did wait in that 2 hour line to check out, we found most of the items we wanted along the way. People were setting things down that they decided they didn't want, or maybe when they got sick of waiting and left. I will NEVER go back to Best Buy on Black Friday, and price match it all at Walmart instead. It's nice that we can price match at Target too if Walmart is out of something.
  11. Target: 32" Westinghouse LCD HD TV $246 First Act Electronic Drum Set $35 Wii Sports Resort $49.99 The Office, Season 2 $12.99 The Office, Season 3 $12.99 The Office, Season 4 $12.99 House, Season 1 $12.99 House, Season 2 $12.99 House, Season 3 $12.99 House, Season 4 $12.99 Toss Across $10.00 Yahtzee Jr. $5.00 Kohls: Farberware 25-pc stainless steel cutlery set $29.99 Reversible Down Comforter $29.99 Home Classics 12 pk Wash Cloths $2.99 ----- $499.89
  12. I would recommend Game Party II. It has 11 games on it: puck bowling, lawn darts, horseshoes, darts, skill ball, etc. We play it with our 5 year old and 14 year old, and us as adults. It's good for all ages. The games are either like backyard games or arcade type games like skeeball and the basketball shoot. It's a good all around game for all ages.
  13. I had this happen to me yesterday too. Spoke to a "support manager" and then the store "assistant manager" and neither would budge on the price. A bunch of video games for all systems - xbox, ps, psp, wii and ds were in a metal bin with a sign saying $4. The other side had more games with another sign saying $20. They kept saying that a customer must have put them in the $4 side while digging through the $20 games, and they just don't belong there. My point was there were 200 or so games in the $4 side, and what was really supposed to be in that bin since it was 90% games. I am going to take it to the top level management on Monday and see if I can get anywhere, but I sincerely doubt it. Walmart doesn't care about their customers at all.
  14. This is a bad year for us too. My husband was unemployed for 10 months, starting last fall (GM car business). He FINALLY got a job and two weeks later I was laid off unexpectedly after 14 years with the company. 2 months later hubby's new job laid him off too. Besides both of us being out of work now, we found out that him working those two months lowered his unemployment by $400 a month! We are doing everything we can to keep our house. It's hard to be happy, but we can only think of how it could be worse. Keep your chin up and try to be thankful. I know it's hard. On the days that are really hard, remember that tomorrow is a new day :-)
  15. I went to the store and got 12 soaps for $20, used my coupon for a free item from the signature collection (got the apple body wash), plus redeemed my any free item coupon from last time that I forgot to use (I had called and they said to bring it in next time along with my receipt) and got a foot file - with everything coming to just $21.30! Thanks for the tip Elite!
  16. Or that you have the Walmart ad but aren't showing us ;-)
  17. I think it was eastern time. I'm central time, but I seem to recall it was eastern.
  18. Black Friday shopping once a year saving money Crazy, Fun, who needs sleep!
  19. I've had good luck on Kohls.com at midnight. Last year I was even able to get the doorbuster GPS online! Definately worth trying. Then if you can't get what you want you can head to the store in the morning.
  20. A guy at work actually got these for his wife, and we still tease him about it. First off, he got them at Menards, which should have been the first red flag for him. But, No..... So Steve's 40 year old wife opens the first gift (Udder Cream) and says "Does it look like I have Udders?" (Steve said to us at work "it's really nice hand lotion, I thought she'd like it"). So his wife proceeds to open the next gift, which is a book. Problem is it's #2 in a 3 part series that she hasn't read #1 to. Oops. Last gift, she opens up a set of Walkie Talkies. Steve thought they'd be cool since they live on acreage. Needless to say, he wasn't on the best of terms. Then, to put the icing on the cake, she turns to him and says "where's my suitcase?" (They had traveled to a relative's house out of state). Apparently Steve forgot her suitcase at home!!!! I still crack up everytime I think of this, especially the Udder Cream. (Who buys their wife Udder Cream anyhow? lmao!)
  21. Hoosier - at apple.com: Refurbished iPod touch, 8GB (first generation), $139.00, with free shipping, and 1 year warranty. We've purchased my DSD refurbished items from apple.com and had very good luck with it. Or, how about a skateboard, clothes, music cd's?
  22. I went to the Albertville outlet mall in Minnesota two years ago. Got there at 12:15, got right in to Aeropostale, got a bunch of great deals, then we got stuck in the middle of the parking lot for 2 hours. (I kid you not!) We even called the police department and asked them to help as we were going nowhere! It was horrible. I talked to some mall employees last year and they said they were having more security directing traffic, more off-site parking with shuttles, and it should not be a problem again. I plan on going back this year but parking close to an exit and not moving my car until I'm ready to go home! Most of the stores are 50% off everything, so I'll be hitting Aero, Pac Sun (for DSD14) and Bath & Body Works. The most popular store here is the Coach outlet and they limit how many can be in the store at one time.
  23. My friend works at a WalMart in PA. They had "crowd control" training this week (because of the death of the security guard on the east coast last year). There WILL in deed be a separate line for each of the "hot" items. So, if there are 10 "hot" items, there will be 10 individual lines spread around the store. There will be employee by each item. She said there will be tickets for the hot items, and when the tickets have been given out for how many of each item they have, the line will be cut off. This is to prevent the line jumping and the pushing. Unfortunately, it will also not allow you to be in line for more than one hot item at a time.
