  1. 1. (guy in car) Suckers, they only had 1 and I got it!!!! 2. I can't stand up straight, I've been camping outside for three days. 3. Guy says to girl - Honey, it's Ok, we'll get the doorbusters next year.
  2. I am going to guess Harbor freight on 10/12
  3. Sorry, can't figure out replying to specific post either. Hey I finally got it! Anyway DITTO, I order a lot of stuff online and then go out for tradition reasons.
  4. I really like this idea. A lot of goods ones out there.
  5. I can't believe it's October already! Need some ads to give me ideas on what to buy. I don't think I "need" anything. But I am sure there will be something I want in the ads.
  6. I'm with most everyone else. Last year I got a lot of my stuff online. My sister and I just go for the tradition. If they keep going earlier and earlier there will be no tradition left, especially if you can get what you want online. :-(
  7. I wear jeans, comfortable tennis shoes, a sweat jacket and of course my gotta deal t-shirt! I also carry a waist bag. I don't usually carry any snacks. The line in Kohl's took so long this year I started to get shaky. I tore open one of their candy bars and ate it in line (I did pay for it at the register).
  8. I was feeling unorganized too. There weren't really any GOOD sales that were worth a whole lot to me. I already have enough TV's and other electronics. I wanted to get my daughters a tablet. The one I actually liked the best was not a black Friday deal, it was online days before and on sale. I only had little stuff to get and I wanted to go to see the craziness. I was able to price match almost everything at WM. I wasn't planning on getting anything from Kohl's, but actually came across a couple things I actually wanted that I hadn't seen in the ads so they weren't on my list. But I felt so disorganized, not so enamored with the whole idea, kind of blah. I think this earlier and earlier is ruining it for me. After all, it is supposed to be Black FRIDAY!!!! I wasn't ready on Thursday.
  9. I am in Banning, CA. I didn't even end up going out of town. My sister and I went to WM first, didn't seem as crowded as usual. Folks started ripping the pallets open at a quarter 'til. The workers just gave up. I even picked up some regular grocery items while I was there, price matched and used coupons. Check out only took about 20-30 minutes. Then headed over to Kohl's, they weren't even open yet. The line to get in went around the building to the back of the building. Didn't want to wait in line. The store clerk said they would let the line in first and when the entire line was in then they would let the rest of us who didn't want to wait in line go in. Somewhere before the line was in, another clerk opened the other set of doors and the crowd that wasn't in line bum rushed the door. Kinda got pushed in at that point. The line to check out, however, was horrendous. They kept apologizing over the loud speaker. Had several $10 coupons and 15% off, so broke up items into three orders. Got Kohl's cash and great discount for all. With price matching at WM, ordering some stuff online and Kohl's we were pretty much done. Went to get a bite to eat at Denny's. Couldn't believe it, they were empty! They are always packed on Black Friday. We were home by 12ish. Came home and went to sleep. Went back out about 11am today. Went to a local big and tall store, then to Target and Best Buy. Still found door buster's at both! I think the early Thursday time may have hurt retailers more than helped. There was nothing to do to fill up the entire time between 1am and 9am, a lot of down time, a lot of time to fall asleep. Some stores were actually closing and then opening back up in the morning. My vote is to go back to early am on Friday!
  10. I hadn't really noticed until this year. I swear, it was like we walked past a literal skunk more than once last night! I think as a common courtesy folks should bathe within at least a week of black Friday!

  14. Where o where is Bath & Body Works? That and the repost of Home Depot.
  15. Brad, didn't you have another contest for t-shirts where you were going to randomly pick winners from those that responded? I thought the ordering period was until the 10th and that contest was over before the ordering period was closed. I was waiting to see if I was randomly selected before I purchased a shirt. **I found it. It ends on the 19th. Oh well, I hope I win one. Thanks.
  16. Back in the day, it was quite simple: We would review the ads on gottadeal.com days before, have our lists ready. Get a paper on Thanksgiving, mark our lists on the actual ads. Call my sis on the phone to hash out final strategy. We would get up at o'dark thirty and have breakfast at Denny's. Discuss items we are looking for, etc. Then we would get our hot chocolate to go and head out to wait in line for about 3-4 hours at Walmart. Freeze our butts off until opening time, which used to be about 5am. Most of our shopping was at Walmart. Then we would head out to the other stores on our list. Stop for lunch somewhere in between. We would be finished about 5 - 6pm. A mere 12 hours out shopping. Nowadays it is not so simple: We still review our ads on gottadeal.com days before, get a paper on Thanksgiving, mark our lists, etc. But now we have to leave the house early in the afternoon on Thursday. Still head to Walmart first. No line, no freezing our butts off, now we have a super Walmart. We have to walk around the store and find a good vantage point and make alliances with strangers to get the items we want. We wait for the sale "start". There is a 10 second spurt of madness, then it's pretty much over. The lines are ridiculous, so we walk around looking for hidden treasures (carts full of sale items that people couldn't afford, or didn't want to wait in line to pay for). We usually get everything we are looking for this way. By then the line has died down. We check out and do our price matching. Then off to a few more stores. We finally get breakfast about 3am, then continue shopping. Hit a few more stores and do lunch. Last year I didn't get home until about 6pm. A mere 24 hours or more out shopping! Boy, I miss the good old days!
  17. I am hoping to find something I actually NEED this year!
  18. Photo captions: #1 - Are these the ones in the ad? They were the last two over there. #2 - I'll teach you to cut in line #3 - It's Thanksgiving Day, wish I had some turkey But I'm camping away at Best Buy My toes are frozen, and I'm all alone It' s almost Black Friday that's why I need a laptop, some movies and other stuff too But I have to be first in line There's only so many to go around It's Black Friday do or die
  19. So happy to start the countdown! Something to look forward to. My goal this year -- look for things we really need at really good prices. Hope the retailers have heard my plea.
  20. How about for the back: Give it up! I've got 10 years under my belt!
  21. Thanks for the CS tip. It worked for me. Got all of the items I wanted, unless they send me an email and cancel my order like Sears did last year. In California.
  22. If I had $1,000 I would purchase the Lenovo twist laptop at Staples for $699.99, the hanging jewelry mirror at Kohls for $79.99, 5 pairs of Gloria Vanderbilt Amanda jeans at Kohl's for $84.95, the 5lb Hershey bar at Kmart for $19.99, the polaroid 8" tablet at Kohl's for $89.99 and the Zumba game for the Wii for $25 at Walmart.
  23. I was out and about for 23 hours straight! My sister and I met at WM at about 8pm on Thanksgiving. After that we went to home depot, kohl's, best buy, kmart, staples, etc. (all in town). Had breakfast at Denny's at about 3:30am while shopping online. Then headed out of town to Sears, bath and bodyworks, target, the mall. Had lunch at Carl's jr. about 11:30am. Then went to Costco and further out of town to more costco's (looking for a particular item) and sears grand to pick up an online order. Left sears grand at 2pm towards home (drank a 5 hr energy drink at this point). Stopped at more stores on the way home. Made it home about 6-6:30pm, crashed at 7pm (exactly 5 hours). Slept well into the next day. Don't forget, I had also been up since at least 12 hours before we met to start shopping. It was fun, but very tiring. I am not sure if I like this better than starting early on Friday morning. And all the while I received comments everywhere I went on my gottadeal.com black friday t-shirt!
  24. How do we order t-shirts or other items?
  25. Here is my Haiku: No sleep turkey day 23+ hours straight shopping for great deals
