  1. I am excited and eager for BF (despite the fact I am still out of work... I am hoping I can get a job soon). No idea what to do for my kids but I'm going to try avoiding doing just gift cards. Now to hop to it and make my lists: who to shop for, send cards to, the SS idea list...
  2. Seeing this just made my great day even better!
  3. The cups arrived intact. . I expect DD will want hot cocoa in "hers" tomorrow before school.
  4. Got my SS package yesterday with a most interesting variety of items... a big BBW anti-bac hand soap (gonna need that), a clip-on book light (yea!), Dreamgirls (like this movie), a package of mini foam rockets (the kids promptly started shooting them at each other), a small tote bag (which DD has already claimed for her clan), a snowflake ceramic to go coffee cup (DD has taken off with it) and another holiday themed to go cup. Thank you so much for a very thoughtful package - it will be put to good use!
  5. How about assigning elves on Sunday or Monday? It's no fair for just a couple of people to wait when the rest of us are receiving and enjoying our ornaments and gifts.
  6. Not necessarily an odd request but I've always said that one day I will get a whole brick of instant tickets... it would be truly funny if I got one for Christmas because the last three days have seen me on a winning streak the likes of which I've never known.
  7. Just got my ornament package.... thanks a bunch to my OE person! The pair of ornaments I received are like mini pillows, each the size of my palm - one snowflake shaped and the other a regular ornament shape. These rustic looking, outdoorsy ornaments (which have a pine needle/cone/berry trim on top and twine loop for hanging) are a PERFECT match for the wreath I just made for our door. Also included were cranberry shimmer shower gel and body mist, a pouf and two packages of holiday coffee. Since the coffee is for a coffee maker and I don't have one... I guess I'll have to talk to DH about getting one! The ornaments are going on the tree, as are the coffees, and I'm sure DD will snatch up the bath items when she gets home from school. Thanks again for a very thoughtful package!
  8. LOL! Sounds like something my DD would have said... she had asked for one too but I told her I'd rather get real kitchen stuff for her.
  9. That's a lot of no words... does it look like an elf or two will be needed?
  10. Away they go...
  11. I need to find mine... and quick!
  12. I wish we had family here to gather with. Everyone is too far away and it'd be too expensive for the whole family to travel. We just keep it laid back and don't even bother with a turkey though I cook turkey in some form.
  13. I should scope out my stores tomorrow... this will be one of my major stops.
  14. Pair a lottery ticket with whatever you get. If you happen to give someone a winner they'll really be thanking you!
  15. My DS took first at the state fair recently with a no bake pumpkin pie that tastes like nothing I've ever had... knew it the minute I was home sampling the leftovers. I need to find that recipe!
  16. Last few years I've made a very long round trip to the city in which I'd be shopping to ensure I had ALL of the ads (and i always check a minimum of 3 papers). This year it's a mere three minute bike ride around the corner.
  17. My condolences to you and the family. I will keep you in my thoughts.
  18. Thoughts will be with you. Condolences on your loved one's passing.
  19. In light of recent events I would like to retract my posting and replace it with the following: I want a job .
  20. 400 packages of the Hawaiian Host chocolates on sale for $2.50 at Menards = $1000
  21. Figures it'd be an awesome ad once I've moved away...
  22. My sympathies and thoughts are with you. I just lost my job on Friday but have plenty to be thankful for yet.
  23. Hey I work/worked for Hostess too. My sympathies to your DH.
  24. Oh we'll still have a Christmas - DH has a decent paying job - but since I'm working for the first time in six years I figured I could pay without breaking out the plastic. We have a lot to be thankful for and the kids aren't asking for too much anyhow.
