I had my kids go through the toy book that came in the mail the other day and had them circle things they liked. My son has asked for very little this year and my daughter circled almost the entire girls section LOL.

Last year I spent about 300 dollars there on BF. I walked away with about 700.00 worth of stuff! the sale were insane with all the extra discounts. This year we're not going home for Thanksgiving and I won't be able to go this year.

I know I would go!

We use to watch part of the parade, but have gotten out of the habit the last few years. Honestly, I'm not sure why we don't anymore.

I don't have anything yet LOL. I did have 3 small stocking stuffers that I got while on vacation, but my DS found them LOL.

I'd like to have them this year, but could wait if I had to. Thanks for that idea!

corn casserole from Paula Deen: 1 can cream corn 1 can reg corn drained 1 stick of butter 1 Cup sour cream 1 box jiffy corn mix Spray 8x8 casserole dish.Preheat oven 350. mix everything together and pour into dish. Cook uncovered for 50-60 minutes until it comes out dry when you stick a fork in it. This is great if you double it. It is sooooooooo YUMMY!

pumpkin pie and mistletoe

This is the first Thanksgiving that we won't be traveling in I don't know how many years. We will be staying home so we can have Thanksgiving in our new house. We are hoping my folks will come up. We also may have a couple of the single soldiers that won't be going home, so that they can have a good home cooked Thanksgiving meal.

Are you part of our family ROFL????? My DH, myself and both of our kids know Christmas Vacation word for word. Everytime we say "Grace" at dinner, we all start laughing and say Grace, she died 30 years ago. If you've never seen the movie, you would have no idea what I'm talking about LOL. When my DH was deployed, we bought a second copy to send with him so the kids and I could keep our copy.

Thanks everyone for some good ideas. I am hoping to check those places out now. I still have my stocking that i had as a kid and would love for my children to be able to hang theirs once they have their own family too.

I spend around 300 a kid. This year we are hoping to buy a pool table that flips over and is an air hockey table. I may take it back to about 250 a kid since the pool/hockey table costs so much.

We are buying a new house this month and it will not be landscaped unitl next spring. So, this year I'm not really sure what lights we will do. I know that I will put greens with bows out all of our front windows. Anyone have any suggestions for some decorating this year?? I'd love some ideas. I really am very disappointed not getting to decorate bushes this year with white lights.

How many of you will re-gift this year?

I am looking for some fancy kid friendly stockings this year. I would like to find some that would be great for a boy and a girl. I would like for them to be able to be something they will have once they are grown. Anyone have any suggestions on where to find some? How about like LL bean?? Thanks!

Me too!!!! The only difference is that my DH is JUST as crazy as me over Christmas LOL!!!

If you are flying, I'd either pack them unwrapped and wrap them when I get there or I would UPS them to where I am going. We're lucky that we always drive home and don't have that problem. Good luck!

We strat on Thanksgiving every year. This is the first year in like FOREVER that we will be staying home for Thanksgiving. I am hoping to put up the trees Thanksgiving night and listen to it all that time LOL.

I have wanted to buy the one from LL Bean the last couple of years, but could not bring myself to spend the money on it.

I bake for everyone LOL!!! I usually don't enjoying baking cookies, but that is the one time of year i do go crazy. My DH is a wonderful cook and loves to be right there in the kitchen with me. The kids will help some, but are much more interested in the finished product.
