  1. Neither I nor my friends have been able to view the ad on the Lowes site. If we click on an item in the GD Lowes item list, the picture and description for that item will show. So I guess that is good enough for me.
  2. Last year was the first time we got in line at Fry's. We thought they would not have enough items, and no organization to what happened in the store when the doors opened. So we never came here on BF. Based on the lines for their other sales, including Fridays, we knew to get there early. Fry's actual ad does not come out until Friday morning. So you need printouts, and lists. We picked up copies of the actual ad from down the street before the doors opened. The Thanksgiving Day 3-pages are not all the items they will have. We arrived at 10 P.M. Thanksgiving Day with our travel trailer in tow. By now the line was 1/2 way around the building. If you know how big the stores are, you know how far away we were. We were directly in the center of the rear of the store. Several people had projectors and played movies on the building walls. Others smoked a large hookah, rode skateboards, slept on carts, and played computer games. We made our pizzas and had a bathroom in the trailer to use. We got our shopping carts when we arrived. We are very well acquainted with the store layout. Since there were 3 of us, we split the store into 3 sections. Each had a list of items to get, even if they did not want the item, but someone in the group did. Remember, for computers and monitors, motherboards, processors, and memory and cameras you will have to get in a line. Also for major appliances (which we did not need). Most of the TV's were stacked in aisles. We had to get in all 3 of these lines and did this first, routing our way to these lines down aisles that had other grab on the way items on our lists. Then we met in the center aisle to divvy up the stuff. Once inside we were able to spend thousands of dollars, get all the items on our lists, and get out of the store in less than an hour. Fry's had such a large quantity of all their "Doorbusters" that as long as you got in the store in the first 2 waves of people you were almost assured of getting all the stuff on your list. Police and employees stopped line jumpers. Fry's prices are lower than BB and CC, their quantity of items cannot be beat, their 100+ checkouts allow for speedy exit. You are able to get to your next stop and get all of the stuff you did not buy here (tools and garage door opener). If you don't go before they open, don't bother. They may have what you want, but do you want to wait 3+ hours to check out? One last observation, If you can't find what you want, you may find it while in line. I found stuff that I hesitated to get that people changed their minds on and just abandoned it on the way to the checkout. Keep your eyes open!
  3. Our group got there at midnight. We were first in line. Watched TV, made pizza in our travel trailer that has a bathroom, studied all the ad's to decide where to go next, and had a terrific time! And then when they passed out the tickets, we cleaned out just about all the doorbusters they had. Tv's, 19" LCD monitors, Mio's, portable hard drives, phones, DVD burners, internal hard drives. Everyone that came after us was mad. This was our second year of going to Staples at midnight. We have not decided which store to "hit" this year. We went to Office Depot next and got everything on our lists, then Circuit City, then Sears, and Fry's (where we got everything, but waited in line for over 2 hours), and finally Harbor Freight. Good thing it is hot in Southern California!
  4. I'm still waiting for Home Depot. Last year their 32" LCD was cheaper than most others. Including BB and CC. Don't know what brand it was.
  5. Staples has been our place to be for the past 2 years. Best deals and item selection on the planet! Also best run, Till the system goes down! I bring cash to avoid the CC snafus. We get there at midnight, after shopping at CompUSA. The next people did not show up till three. We have been first in line both years. Good times! Last year they passed out coupons for the doorbusters.

    hhregg ad removed

I already got it, so unless they can somehow take it off my computer, its too late!
  7. Read about it herehttp://money.cnn.com/news/newsfeeds/articles/prnewswire/NETU05709102007-1.htm
  8. Thats strange from PNY. They have never questioned any of my rebates. Newegg should have fixed or covered this for you. Several retailers have covered my rebates when the MFG has not. I just show them all my stuff, and get a check a couple months later. Most retailers have a department for handling these non-payment by mfg requests. You are right about the time you spent exceeding the rebate. As some one else mentioned, SOYO is the worst. It took me 2 years once, and 1½ years another. I will never buy SOYO with or without a rebate. And I try not to buy stuff with rebates of only a few dollars. The time spent copying the stuff alone wipes those $'s out. What I meant is you must notify the company the day the time for receiving the rebate is up. If it says 6 weeks, on day 43, scream "WHERES MY MONEY?". No reply in 2 days, scream "2nd notice WHERES MY MONEY? I am notifying the State Attorney General." This they don't like to hear. (See how much company's like Office Depot and Office Max have had to pay in fines because of being slow to pay.) Then write to the state and complain anyway. The more people that do, the more of a chance of having it investigated. If you just kiss your rebate bye bye, they have won! If you have ever sent in a K-World rebate, there are a couple more companies that operate the same, but anyhow, they will not send your money unless you ask for it. Then you will get a company check that is actually signed by a real person. K-World has done this with me 4 times in 3 years.
  9. I only shop retail stores on Black Friday. Everything else including food is from eBay or the 99¢ Only Store. Forgot the topic. Yes, the crowds will be bigger, especially in places where CompUsa have closed. There will be less rebates, and hopefully this will not affect the deals. I could have got a HDTV last year but did not want it. People thought we were crazy, being first in line and not getting 1 of 3 sets. Not missing out this year! The price should be about right. I thought they were overpriced last year. Wal*Mart will go all out this year trying to get back some of the customers they have lost to stores that are smaller, have better service and selection. This is why they are offering the cheap satellite internet service. So these installers can also hook up your TV's.
  10. If you would have kept on top of this and checked the Woot! forum, you would have seen that Woot! gave everyone that correctly completed the rebate a $100 refund to the credit card you used. All you had to do was ask. Office Depot also covered the HannsG rebate and sent me a check+ extras for my troubles. The main thing is to keep track, copies, and follow up on your rebates to get them. If you don't want to commit, don't sent them in and don't whine when you don't get them. Its YOUR fault. I have sent in over a thousand dollars or more in rebates every year for the past 7 years and have never failed to receive the checks. I admit some have taken over a year to collect and over 20 e-mails, and faxing of copys, etc, but I got em!
  11. On the ad download page there is a link to download the pdf reader for free. It is near the end of the top statement. Look for this. "here"
  12. You're no fun!
  13. Without the mail-in rebates, prices at BB don't seem worth getting. This will be the second year that I choose somewhere else to go. Last year, most of the BB stuff you could order online Thanksgiving day. And that's what I did. Went to Staples after CompUSA opened at Midnight and got some sweet deals on 19" lcd's. Thats probably what I will do this year.
  14. I went to 7 stores, got everything but 1 thing (sata drive) on my list, laptop ($900 AR) and all. Started on Thursday at 9:30 P.M. at CompUSA and ended on Friday at 9:30 A.M. at Circuit City. Spent over $2000, and have 33 rebates to fill out valued at over $800. We ate pizza, brought the trailer and had a bathroom. You wouldn't believe we were in line at Staples at 12:30 and there were 2 peeps ahead of us. We all wanted the Samsung LCD's. Met some nice peeps in all the lines and had a fun time. I went in this year not expecting too much. I really didn't see any great deals worth getting in a frenzy over. Can't wait till next year!
  15. Contact Best Buy HQ in Minnesota. if no luck there, the Better Business Bureau in Minnesota online. They helped me.
  16. Going to Fry's and then PC Club. They both have free stuff like Friday.
  17. That same kind of thing happened to me 2 years ago at Best Buy with a Black Friday Doorbuster DVD burner. The item in the box was not the item. Neither Best Buy, the manufacturer, the police, my credit card company, or Best Buy HQ in Minnesota would help. Finally after 6 months of letter writing, talking to China, Minnesota, San Jose, sending faxes. filing court papers, the BBB finally resolved it and I received a full credit, letter of apology, and the item. Now I always open the box at the counter. Sealed or not.
  18. Left at 9:30 P.M. Thursday, returned 9:30 A.M. Friday. Went to 8 stores, have over $800 in rebates, got everything I wanted except 1 thing. Longest check- out time 10 minutes. Great times! Doing more shopping tomorrow!
  19. A camera or mp3 player usually only takes one type of additional storage. You have the INTERNAL memory and then can sometimes add more by using a card. Xd, Memory Stick, Memory Stick Pro, MMC/SD(Secure Digital), Compact Flash I & II, Smart Media, & IBM microdrive. are most of the common types. The only device I know of that can take more than one type are some Sony cameras. The cards are not interchangable. You must use the card your camera was designed to use.
  20. 500 gb hd FREE!!! Also that Acer notebook for $800+$180 AOL
  21. Last year I got a great deal on a 250 GB hard drive, a video card and some memory also some FAR stuff. We got there at 1 P.M. and were first in line.

  24. The paper and ink for the printer dock are sold as 1 package/cartridge and it averages out to over 50 cents per 4X6 print. That is the largest size you can make. The prints ordered on line are cheaper.
  25. Ha hahahahahahahahaha!!!!
