At our house, Santa presents are not wrapped. They are all set up in the living room on Christmas morning and the stockings are full. They open gifts from mom and dad on Christmas Eve.

One tree up and one to go. Candy canes and lights will be in the yard this weekend. I am working on it, but it's taking longer than usual. Maybe due to all of that extra stuff I bought after Christmas last year!lol I am going to the nearest city with a Hobby Lobby in the morning to finish up getting everything I need as far as decorations go. That's about an hour drive. Boy, the trouble I go to to make this house a Griswold house...lol!!!!

I got my shirt two days ago!!!Thanks Brad! But, my hubby has taken it away from me.

I had forgotten about Elf, and we have it!!!lol I like it, too. And I know I shouldn't say it, but I also like Badder Santa.lol

OMG! This sounds like something my sister would do.lol

I for one, would LOVE to get that recipe.

:sidesplit Sorry, just had the funniest thought... what would happen if there was a power surge?!?!? I can just see ornaments and tinsel flying around my living room knocking people out!!!lol

I am waiting(impatiently) for the advent calendars to be available that are like the one on Christmas Vacation. The company who makes them also makes the moose eggnog glasses(too expensive for me,lol) but they are now taking orders for Christmas 2006. Bummer!!! The glasses are $324.00 for two. The only way I will EVER get those is if another company starts making them and selling them WAY cheaper.lol But the advent calendars are so cute.

We have friends who set their tree on top of a table. The tree is about 7ft. and when they put it on that table, it's huge!lol I have 12ft. ceilings and I am glad because I like my trees just the way they are.lol 7ft. and sitting on the floor.

This is probably one of my favorite parts of the holidays! My 7 yr.old has a play, 9 yr. old has a choir concert, and the three oldest are all in school bands so they have concerts coming up, too. I love going to all of these.

I love that idea. I bake alot of cookies every year and would like to have one of these. Maybe I will do this this year. My favorite cookies are "Frostbite Cookies". I got the recipe from Sunmaid raisins and they have won first place in a cookie contest at the local fair here. Great cookies!!!lol

We always have had a very LARGE family and my best memories are of Christmas at our house. My grandparents lived with us for the first 13 years of my life and my grandmother always started cooking a few days before the holidays. There was so much food. Everything you could imagine for Christmas was there. ALL of the family would come to our house. My grandparents had seven kids who all had at least two kids, most had four and a couple had six kids.lol I had so much fun with my cousins during the holidays. We would go down in the woods about three weeks before Christmas and pick a tree. Then about two weeks before, we would go and cut it and bring it up to the house. The decorations were the ones my grandmother had used since her kids were small. Big colorful lights. Now our family NEVER gets together. That is the part I miss most.

I am always up before them on Christmas morning and I sometimes wake them up.lol But they do stay up late the night before.

Under the pics in the ad scans will be a small blue box that says "also available at WM online".

I have NO safe place where my kids don't find them. They are the BEST at sniffing out presents.lol So, I wrap them as I get them and put numbers on them. I keep a list at mom's house as to which number goes to whom and put tags on them when I put them under the tree.
-
Our WM is pretty good about getting things close to the right department. I know that the toys will be between the electronics and the toy sections. The electronics are always by electronics. Kitchen appliances are between their section and the grocery section. But, the clothes are on the smaller aisles and are so much harder to get to. I guess they have to put them somewhere.lol

Any one have a clue whats it like to work on Black friday
Gporter34 replied to nathanr1229's topic in 2005
Sorry, just couldn't pass this one up!!! I am one of those "crazys" you are talking about who loves buying the cheap electronics every year on bf. I love them, mine have lasted way longer than the expensive things I have bought. And if me and these other crazys didn't buy them you would not have that job anyway. I am not mean to the employees, but I have many complaints on them!!! Most of them don't have a clue at our WM. They are either more lost than I am about what is going on or they are the BIGGEST BUTTHOLES you could ever run into. What happened to customer service?!?!? Have you heard recently about how much money is spent on bf? I'm not saying that all employees are like that but the majority of the ones here are. For some reason they forget that the reason we are up and out in the cold that early instead of sleeping in is to buy their merchandise. Don't know about your situation but I know that from a shopper's point of view, we would appreciate a smile and a kind word when we ask a simple question..."Can I put items in layaway early and pick them up on bf for the sale prices?" response..."Why are you even asking that now?It is still a month away? Isn't it a little early to even be worrying about that?" That said, I feel better, lol, have a happy BF!!! -
I'm not sure about everyone, but I know that we only inflate our's at night. We just unplug them during the day and they go flat, plug them up at night and they pop right back up.lol They are really easy.

Well, I didn't have time to do much of anything.lol SVU had me last night. I just get drawn to that show sometimes.
-
I go because I have five kids and it's a good time to shop for them. I can get them more and better gifts for less money. I have to admit, I also go for the thrill.lol It is the thrill of the hunt for me, too. I get a rush when the store starts filling up and I get everything on my list.lol

Old-fashioned colored bulbs on the gutters, lighted decrations on the sides of the house, wreaths on every door, wreaths in each of the eight windows across the front of the house, electric candles in the windows, Christmas star on the arch of the porch, candy canes outlining the yard, candy cane walkways, inflatables, signs, and my son has rigged me some Christmas music to be heard from the street. I am looking for a santa and reindeer(the older ones) and the North Pole sign that WM had last year. They don't have it yet but I am hoping they get it. I should have gotten it last year.lol The kids put lights on the doghouse and you can see it from the driveway, it's cute and suprisingly the dog doesn't mess with them, I think he likes the lights.lol I am slowly adding more things, though. I want a nativity scene for the yard but I don't like the ones I've seen so far, so when I find it, I'll get one.
-
I guess our whole town is Christmas crazy.lol We have a local park where the Municipal Band has outdoor concerts during the summer and the first weekend of December they have a beautiful display that you can walk through that goes through the holidays. A local western wear store has a lot next to the store where they have a huge display you can drive through, look at lights, and listen to Christmas music. And just about every neighborhood here has almost every house decorated. We also have a couple of living nativity scenes where we can drive through and see the "First Christmas" and listen to music. I have to say that I love my town and the fact that it is absolutely beautiful here for the Holidays.

I plan to get the snowglobe after Christmas when it goes on sale. I have the Tigger snowman, the Pooh santa and the Mickey Mouse one and I don't see any difference in my bill because of them but we do not keep them inflated during the day. At night when we turn on the lights, we plug them in and they are so cute. I am not going to pay $128.00 for that snowglobe, though.lol

Do You have your Christmas tree Lights Flashing or NonFlashing
Gporter34 replied to ohio_gal1959's topic in 2005
The lights outside are set for some to flash, others do not. The lights on my tree do not flash because I like the way they look through the window when they just glow.
