I have bought them before and didn't expect much because they were cheap, however, they turned out to be great! I have them in all of my kids' rooms and if they can stand the abuse they get from them and still be going strong, they are worth the money to me.lol

I ended up getting out of WM and speeding over to Penney's got a snowglobe, then got to Radio Shack ten minutes before they opened and still got everything there I was after. I am adding that the only reason I was speeding was because security at WM ran into the parking lot yelling at everyone who got laptops to LEAVE now because people were trying to take them from the people putting them in their cars. When I got down the road, I passed the cops flying out that way!!!

I took my three oldest kids with me but sent the two younger ones home with my mom so that my stepdad could watch them. The oldest are 17, 13, 12. I have had to take the oldest when he was small but that was a while back and BF was alot different then. Our K-mart(when we had one) opened at 7am and if you were there by 6am you were in the front of the line.lol I am just lucky that I had someone to watch the younger ones. If I hadn't the older kids would have stayed home with them. I feel sorry for folks who don't have a babysitter for BF.

I guess this really doesn't count but I didn't get the Brother sewing machine at WM because I would have had to give up my place (1st)in line for the laptop to get it.LMAO I looked at the sewing machines earlier in the night and decided that I would wait and get a new Singer instead because it is only about $70 more than the Brother was. That's about all I didn't get that I originally planned to get.

I am definitely going to start stashing early. I can't wait to see what great ideas you guys have for BF2006!!! I'm thinking more money is not all I will need next year: mace, suit of armor, knee and shin guards, and a helmet.lol

I would also like to add that assuming is one of the most ridiculous things you can do. The lady behind me had her husband in line behind her and they called their DD who got in line behind them. Reason? Because they wanted a latop for themselves, the wife got it. Theywanted to give the hubby's mother who is disabled one for a gift, the hubby got it. The DD wanted on for college, she got her own. So, someone might get mad because they had three. Three people purchased seperately, they went to three houses for three different people. And those three people got in line behind me and stood there from 10pm til 5am for them. They deserved to have them.

I got one of these and plugged it up this morning. It works great and has good sound and a good pic.

I don't use layaway for BF, but I know several people who do. I'm wondering why you think the "economically challenged", as you called them, don't deserve any BF sales unless they can pay cash for it?!?!?! If WM lets them do it, so what?!?!? If you have ever been to WM before the sale starts you would know that things get really crazy at 5am. Not everyone can afford to just go and spend hundreds of dollars in a few minutes. Some people pay half down and wait for another paycheck to pay the rest. Like I said I don't do it because I have had bad experiences with layaway, being lost, damaged and such. I totally understand the reasoning of using layaway to hide the gifts. That's a great idea. If I didn't hide all of my gifts at my mom's house, I would definitely consider it because I can't hide crap from my kids here without them finding it!LOL

Heck YEAH!!! Are you kidding?!?!?LMAO Not sure if the kids will be going back or not, even though they loved it and can't wait to go back. But I'll be there, waiting in line, suffering, just for the oppurtunity to get abused and to get some GREAT DEALS!!!!!

I don't know what my WM had left, nothing probably. I can't go back just yet.lol I am still traumatized. I was told by a friend of mine who works there that all blitz items (except for some tvs) were gone in a matter of 30-45 minutes after 5. This was the case at our WM, too. Those Care Bears and CPK babies were HOT!!! My DD managed to get two of each because both of my DDs wanted one.

I had good and bad experiences at WM yesterday. And suprisingly, none of the bad was their fault. Your WM sounds like mine every year up until this one. I have been so disappointed with them in the past. This year they had it all together. At our WM the people who came in between 4:45 and 5am were not like you at all.lol They ran in there, shoving, cussing, and grabbing. We had been there all night waiting in line for the laptop. Nothing got ripped into, all of the items were still on pallets and ready for 5am. But when they came in they turned it into a free for all. I know exactly what you are talking about because in the past our WM has put the pallets out uncovered and people got the items as they came in and most of the time by 6am( that's when the sale has always started in the past) everything was gone already.) That was the cause of alot of problems. I know that BF is when most of the firemen, paramedics, and shelters do their shopping for their charities here, so we know they have alot of the same items in their carts. But if that lady was just being greedy and hoarding all of the Care Bears and CPK babies, she should be ashamed. I'm sorry that people acted like that but I'm glad your DD will be getting one anyway. I hope your WM learns from their mistakes this year. I know it took our's long enough. Maybe next year will be better for you.

I think our WM learned a lesson from last year. They were much more organized. I'm not sure what more they could do. They had everything under control and even had the first 15 people for the laptops to line up. After that, when someone asked about it they let them know they were already sold out and not to waste their time. I think they do need even more security. They had a couple of cops there but, with the size and attitude of the crowd that rushed in the doors of our 24 hour WM at 4:45, two cops were not nearly enough to handle it. Thepeople who had been waiting patiently all night were the friendliest, nicest, most courteous group I've ever seen in a situation like that. It was the people who rushed in at the last minute who were out of control.

Thanks to my 3 oldest kids who wouldn't let mommy stay at WM all night alone. Thanks to hubby for understanding why I had to stay out all night.lol Thanks to our WM employees who worked from 6pm Thursday through 6am this morning for being the most wonderful group ever! Thanks to my mom for loving BF as much as me. Thanks to the lady behind me for the laptop who was the nicest line buddy ever. Thanks to the manager of WM for having the good sense to make getting the laptop organized and fair. Thanks to my kids once again for getting all of the other things on my list while I stood in line for that laptop for 11 hours.lol Thanks to Radio Shack for being so nice, fast, and easy to deal with. Thanks to the man who helped my DD get the CPK Newborns. Thanks to my son for helping the women around him load their tvs on their carts. Thanks to my daughter for helping me get that laptop out of the store without getting killed.lol Thanks to all of you for sharing your BF and for being such a nice bunch!!!

It was crazy. I just wonder how this year will affect next year's BF!?!? I think they did pretty well in sales but not so good in safety. Once we got our laptops in hand they told us they were not responsible for what happens after that. I took my chances and got it, and ran for my life. I love BF and I got all of the goodies I was after, but there is going to have to be some changes made in the issue of how BF is handled and safety issues. I think the shoppers are getting more aggressive every year. Last year there were fights, but this year they took it to a whole other level.

If it was one of the BF items that is wrong. However, at our WM people were getting the SPs out of the display case and they were not the ones that were packaged to ring up at BF prices. The same thing happened with the Care Bears and a few other things. It got confusing because they were putting the non-sale items near the sale items and you just had to check really carefully to make sure it was the right one. Our WM was great about everything. It was the monsters who came in there about 15-20 minutes til time for the sale to start. They were the most uncivilized bunch I have ever seen.

Our WM had about 100 of them and they went FAST!!! DD ended up getting 2!

Amen to that!!! I am so thankful to have found all of these funny, caring, helpful people here. And I think that I did so well today because of this site.

After DD got a full day's worth of sleep, she went to the movies with her b/f and just came home. She's fine and says she loves BF. Mom got some rest today and says she's fine now, just a little sore.

I became good friends with a couple who were behind me in line for the laptop. We helped each other out and the time flew by.

Our WM had 15 and I got in line at electronics at 6pm Thursday. I was first in line but as people came in to check things out the line started filling up fast.lol Our WM was a mess but they employees did a great job!

I got to see Garth at Texas Stadium. It was awesome, thunder, lightning, and RAIN inside the stadium. Not sure how they did all of that but it was a great show. Also saw him at Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I am just not that into him anymore.

Luckily it didn't break the skin. Mom is fine she was just a little shaken up. DD says now she knows what to expect and next year she will be ready!LOL Actually she thought it was funny but I did not. I was so mad.

I'm sorry to hear that and I do not like cutters. I won't hold someone's place until they get there simply because it's not fair to everyone behind me. If they want to be first in line, they have to get there early.

I know that the employees at our WM could not hold or buy anything if they were working. They were saying that they hoped some things were left when they got off work. Our store only got 15 of the laptops. And I'm suprised that our store wasn't on the news. But it wouldn't have been the store or the employee's fault. They had it together better than any other year. Everything was fine until people started ripping the plastic off of the pallets, shoving and cussing. This was not a good year for a first timer at our WM. The customers were downright dangerous. I have been going for several years and I am convinced that is the only reason I made it.lol
