Kansas and Missouri are the same way. You get what you paid regardless of when you return it. -

There are 2 really big toy sales that happen twice a year... once in early/mid January and then again in late summer... August or so. Right now is when Target STARTS to mark down their toys. They always start a couple weeks before Christmas with around 30% off. By the time the big sale comes after Christmas, stuff has moved to 50-75% off. They are just following their normal markdown schedule, really... it's just that there are so many toys around for the January sale that there gets to be a lot of buzz because it's on the heals of Christmas, etc. Personally, I like the summer sale just as much (if not more). There aren't as many people clamoring for the deals because they are all shopping for back-to-school clothing and supplies. Don't get me wrong, the toys still go fast, but the Target after Christmas sale seems to get crazier every year (IMO). Many stores I went to last year were shutting down the aisles while they marked things down. More people are aware of the timing of the sale I guess. A majority of the toys go on sale, but not everything... HTH :) -

I have the red card too and have shopped enough to earn a reward certificate every month for the past 3 years. I get their mailers and coupons a lot. I wonder if it has to do with what part of the country you are in more so than individual spending??? Or maybe how many Targets there are around your area and what kind of competition they face for your spending??? Don't know... just guesses! -

I didn't figure the target.com e-mail was too far behind that order made for the Britax seats last night... to those who missed it, no big deal-- they aren't fullfilling them! "Greetings from Target.com. Due to an unexpected error, the following item(s) you have ordered were incorrectly priced at the time of your order. Britax Marathon Convertible Car Seat - Granite We're sorry, but we are unable to offer this item for the incorrect price. The correct price is $279.99. We have canceled your order for this item. If you would like to order this item at the correct price, please visit Target.com to check for availability. Despite our best efforts, a small number of items on our site are occasionally mis-priced. We do, however, verify prices as part of our shipping procedures. If we discover that an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will either contact you for instructions before shipping or cancel your order and notify you of the cancellation. This pricing policy is posted in the Help section on Target.com. Again, we're sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused you. Thank you for being our valued guest. C'est la vie I guess! Fun thought while it lasted:) -

I really doubt anyone will see those things ship. I got my order in for the car seats (2), and it showed that it went through just fine, but I have a feeling target will send out lots of e-mails saying that those items are no longer available, out of stock or whatever... something to cover themselves from that huge pricing error. I mean that's just an insane price ...time will tell I guess. -

Ya, I wonder if they are fixing it. I got an order in for 2 of them about at about 8 p.m., but who knows if they will honor it or not... Their search page (2/3 of the way down) is still showing a couple of ultra cheap Britax, but when you try to click the link, it gives an error... -

THANKS! That's exactly what I wanted to know. It's not a huge issue for me to use it the day it expires next week... it's just that I would have rather waited until Thursday and got to wondering just how particular "the system" was about expire dates on those things. Now I know!! That was nice of the manager to do that for you. I know I try to plan those runs to stock up on certain things. THere have been times that I've gotten distracted and had a cashier TAKE that card and put it in her drawer with my coupons. UGH. I don't let THAT happen anymore. I like to hit several stores the day I use it. Most cashiers know to give it back, but occasionally some don't and if ya don't watch them, you can walk out the door and forget until you get to the next store and wonder where the heck the card went! -

Forgot to mention that I found the whole series of these today for $2.48 each (Reg. $10). I think there are 6. It was odd cause there was just one of each sitting on an endcap away from toys... kind of weird. Anyway, they look crazy to me, but my girls love any kind of little pet thingy that's just small enough for my husband and I to step on and scream in pain. (They are nice to have on hand to bribe for good behavior though, so I picked them up!) http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/61nt37B%2BPXL._SL500_AA280_.jpg -
That is neat! So, you aren't paying anything for the camera "card"... just put cash on it and get the card like any other gift card works, right??

Ya, I know that once you use them, you can't use them another day. I just know that Target isn't necessarily the best at coding their coupon expiration dates into their computer, so I wondered if their rewards certificate was similar to that or if those are coded more carefully into their system. -

... something that I discovered a couple of weeks ago during the whole greeting card bonanza that lasted just a little while. I was getting gift cards as I was checking out to bump up the total on my receipt a bit, and when I brought the used gift cards home, my kids would bug me to play with them. So now, just for fun while I shop at Target since clearance stuff is pretty much a yawner these days, I've been noticing all the neat holiday gift cards Target has. They have some VERY cool gift cards available this time of year. I mean some of them are little games, not to mention just cute pics of santa, elves, polar bears, etc... I don't know if anyone else's kids are like this, but mine love to play with the gift cards when I'm done with them. So, each time I go to Target, I pick some up and just put $5 on them; use them on my next purchase and then give them to my kids to play with. They pretend all kinds of things with them... the cards are hotel keys, tickets to plays, credit cards to put in their little purses... all kinds of things. They love the Christmas pictures on them and some of them are so cool, I'm surprised that Target doesn't charge for them! Who knew??... such a cheap form of entertainment.:) -

Does anyone know whether the Target Rewards (10% off certificate) that you get when you spend x amount on your redcard has a pretty firm expiration date? I've never tried using one past it's expiration date and just started wondering if I used it a day or two past the expiration date whether it would work. I have one to use that expires next Tuesday, but would really rather use it on Thursday. Anyone have any experience with that?? -

Has anyone is KC been out to see if Halloween is 90% today? I need to go after my stash of Lifesaver gummies! -

Is there anyone who has "experience" with the Easy Bake Oven? I have been debating this as a christmas gift. My daughters are 3, 6 and 8. So, does this thing require a lot of parental supervision? What makes it so much more magical than baking in our toaster oven? I just don't need another unused kitchen appliance hanging around. But, I'm torn because it seems like something every little girl would love and if it is, in fact, a cool toy then I'd like to get it for them. Does anyone have any pros/cons they might quickly shoot my way? -

I wonder if Target realizes what such a small thing does for their customer happiness quota! If they are smart, they will just leave this relatively small "nicety" in place (should they ever discover it, which I can't believe they haven't yet). The small number of juice packs that they let go at 69 cents can't really amount to THAT much of a loss for them, can it? I went to get some gummy lifesavers for my kiddos today and when I scanned them, they were still $1.99! I didn't figure that could be right, so I went back to the candy aisle and saw the shelf tag... sure enough, full price on those bad boys was $7.99. (This was for the super big back, but WOW. Didn't realize that's what they were. Oh well, maybe, er.. I will find a couple bags "somewhere" at 90%?? They ARE yummy. Mommy likes them too! -

I noticed that too when I was out and about. All those years of the hidden scrapbooking goodies at holiday time seem to be taken care of now. There were orange stickers on all the Halloween scrapbooking items. Also some Disney pumpkin carving sets and of course those potato heads that we talked about a few posts ago are other Halloween things that are all not part of the holiday clearance. I didn't see much stuff "out of place" like I have in the past. Sometimes I've found the Halloween paper towels/napkins/ziplocs could be found in the regular aisles due to the store just not getting it out to the clearance area like they should, but I haven't seen much of that this year. -

I remember those potato heads from last year. Around here they were not part of the Halloween holiday clearance. It was a few weeks later that they clearanced out at 75% off. They all were eventually stickered and put on an end cap where they sat for awhile. Last year, Halloween went 75% on the 4th and 90% on the 7th (in KC). However, I think there are more and more instances where different stores are on different schedules with the holiday stuff. It seems like it's more common for each individual store to do their holiday clearance differently... used to be every store went on the same days--not so much anymore. I personally don't believe at all that the employees know when it will happen and if you have someone tell you "it will happen tomorrow," be prepared to be disappointed. There are Target employees who either THINK they have it guessed right or are just messing with you knowing that you'll show up bright and early only to be disappointed. Unfortunately, it tends to be sort of a crap shoot! The only thing I usually do is track it from year to year, but even that anymore isn't a sure thing. -

No. Holiday items are a mass markdown. No scanning required on those! You'll be fine -

Target has gotten a bit "better" about coding their coupons to come up expired pretty quickly after the date shown on the actual coupon. Some have found they can eek out a few more days. My guess is that by Nov. 1st the coupon will be dead-- however it could be sooner than that. It's anyone's guess. It's really YMMV because some cashiers really analyze coupons too and if they see it and call you out, then they most likely won't take it. I'm pretty lucky that most of the Ts around me don't pay any attention to expire dates. As long as it scans, it's okay. The only coup for Horizon singles that I know about it the $1 off that was from the Target website. It is not out there any more, so unless you have it saved on your computer somewhere, you probably won't find it. Organic grocery takes coupons down immediately after they expire.
