  1. Typically around this time of the year, they bring in home furnishings from around the globe and have them for a limited amount of time. Because of this, at some point they mark them down and you can find some great deals. However, this year they are calling it Home Design (or something similar) and they are advertising the markdowns in the weekly flyer. You can see what they are offering on their website www.target.com and look for a Home Design link.
  2. http://www.hersheys.com/contactus/contact-us-date.asp I would contact Hersheys directly and ask them if it is available widely or in limited production or if they stopped it completely.
  3. Just to clarify, are you including a SASE for the re-tote bag? Or do they just want you to send the 5 target bags in a large envelope...
  4. No, it may not get marked down. It depends on the store and what procedure the markdown team does that day.
  5. As was mentioned earlier, this is being advertised and was in the current flyer so will remain 30% (probably) until the new flyer is released. Since they are doing it differently this year, it is hard to know the exact markdown unless you ask your store and they tell the truth.
  6. It is still at 30%. It was in the ad this week, so the assumption is that nothing will be marked down, if at all, until the new ad breaks. Typically the new ad breaks on Sunday.
  7. It does depend on the child. My dd is now 14, almost 15 and asked for one for Christmas. We didn't get her one because we had plenty to spend money on but she still enjoys them. She doesn't play with them any more but she keeps them and tends to them...ensures their hair is nice etc. To me they have always been like a nice collectible for her to hand down someday.
  8. Although they may or may not go into a department for markdowns every week, they DO NOT mark down previously marked down items every week. I think we can all attest to that from what we have seen in stores. I have stalked items every week, 3 times a week to watch them sit idle at 30-50 off, only to suddenly note that they can take a month before either being marked down further or completely gone. The toy clearance, similar to the other "seasonal" clearance may be a bit different but I think we can agree that although Target may have some guidelines, they are not perfect and each store will not mark down as another does. Target clearance is the thrill of the hunt and it is the unpredictability that allows us to be score and lose.
  9. And wow...some you can get for over $200 http://www.nextag.com/square-scarf/search-html

  13. My point was that I believe most do the best they can. If you have a problem with your Target, you should get names and contact management.
  14. You have to remember that the person you are calling is not in that department and are performing a job of their own. It is impossible for them to know of all the sales in the store while they are working. I have been checking out and the cashier is floored by a deal so it is not always possible for all team members to know the exact price at all times. Clearance items are very much YMMV...you never know what you may or may not find.
  15. Only SEASONAL items occasionally are marked down to 90%. Regular items like toys, clothes, toiletries, towels, electronics etc are never marked below 75% and sometimes not below 50%. Some toys are clearanced. And if you are seeing toys at 30% off now, those are that ones that will go further. $1 clothes...must be a store that had a lot of stock...most times clothes only go 75% but as some members have reported, some stores have offered an addl 30% the clearanced price. Perhaps those run around a dollar. Typically clearanced clothes are gathered together on rounders and a large red sign with the percentage off is put on the top of the rounder. They are typically found near the back of the clothing area.
  16. It could be that they are getting a credit from the manufacturer if they send them back. You will just have to keep an eye out to see if those are gone the next time you visit or have just been moved.
  17. ONE of the many need to be scanned...in other words, they send down price changes, worker goes on floor and finds one polly pocket with a dog. You have a polly pocket with a dog (exact same one) in your cart. Worker scans and tickets polly pocket with a dog. You are not near worker and have no idea but when you check out, your polly pocket with a dog will be at the marked down price. If you have the only one in the store, it may not be marked down. So I prefer to make sure it is scanning cheaper before I head to the check out, or make sure I am happy with the price that it is scanning.
  18. I just hope it goes to 50% equally fast. I am willing to pay 50% for some of the stuff...but not 30%. The last few years there is literally nothing available in my Target once 50%-75% is over, so 90% meant little to me.
  19. They might...but it depends on the person and how many calls they get and how good their day is going, how busy they are and whether they know or not and whether they will check it out if they don't know. They might also tell you and be wrong...
  20. I completely misunderstood your post so glad that I waited to respond...as far as price matching...the reason most don't is that not all companies get the same deals so if they always price matched, they would be out large dollar amounts. If you can find a ding or a mark, you may be able to get a bit off...but I always notice in the big box stores, it aint much...usually they can send the stuff back for full credit so there is no need to mark it down.
  21. I lost a CD for over a year, some years ago. We found it randomly while we were looking for something else. Thankfully it was a funny cd so we still appreciated the humor later.
  22. It is a possibility, since it is a local grocery store, that the store decided to stop carrying it for one reason or another. They could have brought it in on a certain date and agreed to carry it for so many days...and the day you saw the Pepsi guy haul it away was the day they had to start removing it from store shelves.
  23. You can do a quick search for perimeter perusing and then go down the list and check December 2007 and Jan 2008. Here is the entire list after I searched: http://forums.gottadeal.com/search.php?searchid=1421102
