>>> Official NINTENDO Wii Discussion Thread <<<

My oldest stopped wanting it too. He spent some time at a friends house that has one and his friend is back to playing the Xbox 360 the majority of the time. I am so glad that we didn't stand in line or pay for a bundle! Of course he still does want the Zelda but getting that for the gamecube shouldn't be an issue. -

360 is a notorious in its issues. I heard some Wii's went bad right away. Otherwise, Nintendo is typically better on quality...but having a 360, I would probably buy the extended also. -
Gamecube in about a week or so. It is not yet out...official date maybe the 13th?

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
scrabbler replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
I have never personally heard of this. If the item does not scan, is not in their system, most stores I am aware of, remove it from the shelf until it can be added or an occasional cashier/store employee may override the system and input a price. -

Whether it is illegal or not, it is impossible to "sell" something to a customer for 0.00. -
How fancy do you want? You could make one rather easy and cheap!

Do you ever spend too much money trying to make everyone even?
scrabbler replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2006
I never really stop buying....sad I know! But I never make sure the dollar amount is the same nor the same amount really. I do wrap up the gifts so same amount. So sometimes 2 or 3 things get wrapped up together so it is only 1 gift under tree. -

I got a WM flyer in the mail today...says Wii, available 12/6 limited amount. -
I searched for a pickle this morning but instead decided on an odd ornament to mean the same thing as the pickle. I am not sure what special perk the finder will receive...will have to think on that one!

I have to add some thoughts here. My oldest asked quite young about Santa. I told him the truth and it has never lessened Christmas or the fun or the excitement for any of us. Both my kids knew the truth about Christmas and it has always been a truly magical time. We still put out treats and something to drink. In fact, we have a special cup and plate for it. My kids are now 12 and 14 and it hasn't been traumatic. And they never told a soul. Grownups would ask them what Santa gave them or what they wanted from Santa and they played along. It really is up to each family what works. I really wanted to teach my kids what Christmas was to me so I emphasized that part of our life. I never thought about a right time to tell my kids. When it came up, we dealt with it. Still magical, still special, still have Santas in the house as decorations...we even do St. Nicks nite where we leave out slippers. Just because you know there isn't a Santa doesn't lessen the specialness of the Season.

I agree...it really depends on the games he wants to play. We used to get my only Nintendo stuff when he was younger as he preferred to play those games. He has an xbox and really wanted the xbox 360. The main reason he wanted the xbox 360 was for the Halo games and the Oblivion type games. He now plays others but those were what he wanted when we got it. Now he also wants the Wii but enough game consoles already! The only game he wants for the Wii is Zelda and he can get that for his gamecube. It will more than likely be different than the Wii version but he will survive.

I got one of the flip top dvd players/screen. Am happy enough with that. Thought about getting the gps unit but passed.

No they more than likely would not be available. Some Menard items are available online but not BF items.

American Girl Doll - Help Me Choose!
scrabbler replied to eeyorefamily's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
For any of you that have messy/ruined hair...don't forget about the doll hospital. You can get a new head and voila! Good hair! My daughter has maybe 5-6? Stopped counting! She started with Samantha and has branched out from there. We even got the little ones one year. Plus the beds...argh..a big trunk at the foot of the bed is the only place we can keep most of the accessories. The beds of course, are in the closet. -

I would get the one she liked best, in this case Kaya. But you know your daughter the best. Mine has always liked one special one and moped around and hoped to get it for Christmas. She is now 12 and I am not buying one this year although she wants the new one...is it Jess? -
It all depends on what you are looking for. We have had 3 XM's for about 3 years and love em all.

Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
scrabbler replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Oh yes, certainly do scan items. Although it can be a bit interesting to scan larger items so it helps to have a scanner with the type in ability. I have carried a chair over to be scanned and my kids are familiar with scanning as they were scanning a duvet cover for me every week we went. Finally, pay dirt! I have both, plus many more clearances in my home! -

And I never write down codes etc because if my store doesn't have it, they don't have it. I just take the time to thoroughly walk down the aisles and look on the ends. That way I find items stuffed behind other things and I find things that no one has noticed yet because it has either just gone on clearance or it was returned and is now on clearance. In October I went to a Target and found some wall art my daughter really wanted. It was 50 or 75 off so I bought it. It is a small piece, about 4x4 square so thought if I saw the exact same piece at other Targets, I would pick another up so it could be a collage when put together. Anyway, to this day, the other Targets I visit still have this piece of art at regular price. So it pays to take the time and just look cuz you never know what you may find. -

It is very hit or miss. It is nice to read about all the possibilities but the truth is, if your store is very busy and people buy things at the regular price or at early markdowns, there just isn't going to be the great deals you can sometimes find. There are also times when I think either the employees watch for the great deals or things are pulled quicker than I think. I have had the misfortune to watch items and there can be 4 of em at 30% and even 50% and they will just sit there. Then suddenly they are just GONE! So it is definitely a test of patience and will. Ethical Question on pricing at WalMart
scrabbler replied to SoCalCyclist's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I don't even know what to say to that... You knew it was an incorrect price and you more or less knew it was on the wrong peg under the wrong price tag with no matching upc numbers and/or sku and you still thought you should get it for the less price? IMO, then what would stop people from moving things to another peg and then pointing it out to the management. Or, why even move it? Why not just say, hey, found this on the cheaper price peg. Today I was walking through a grocery store (not working, shopping) and an older gentleman stops me and asks..what is the difference between these decaf coffees? Both same brand name but one was 3.99 and the other was 9.89. The 3.99 was a sale price for the 26 oz container. The 9.89 one was 39 oz. But someone had put a 39 oz container in the 26 oz area. Who's fault is that? Should the store not allow customers to touch the product because they can easily put it back in the wrong place? Must we lock up all merchandise and have no prices on it until it is scanned? -
I guess it depends on what you are looking for....there are a few things that I thought I heard about that I want.
