Ethical Question on pricing at WalMart
scrabbler replied to SoCalCyclist's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
If the controller had the same sku number, was actually labelled with the sku that rang up the price of the wired controller then yes wired controller price. However, in Walmarts I have seen, they hang on a peg. On top of the peg is a sign with the upc/sku and description plus the price. If the tag on top does not match the product, why would you get it for cheaper? BUT if the tag matched the product but just said wireless, if the numbers were the same, then yes, 39.99. -
Perimeter Perusing at Target (Target Clearance Deals) - 2005-06
scrabbler replied to Gator Pam's topic in Offline Hot Deals
Yes the perimeter is the end caps. Perimeter means just walking around the ends of all the aisles, going around. Most Targets put all clearanced items on the end caps tho sometimes they are directly in the aisle which is why you need to walk the perimeters and up and down the aisles too. As far as the dots. They are located in the One Spot area or the area that is typically as soon as you walk into the store. It used to be dollar items, now it is also 2 for $5 items also. These get marked down according to the time they have been out. Thus the sticker...blue sticker you mentioned would all be marked down at the same time where some items may be red stickered and be marked down at another time. Hope that helps! -
Teachers Gifts-What do you get, how much do you spend?
scrabbler replied to brynnfromtheblock's topic in 2006
I stopped giving the "teacher" gift when I heard from teachers that so many of them got just too much stuff! I was at a garage sale of a teacher once and I had never seen so many cups etc. If I can give a gift, I give to the class something they need, or a gift for them like a gc. -

Although I would buy the new one at the lowered price first and THEN return the one that you have a receipt for at the higher price. -

Pam...one copy of it is at page 47 I think. -
May I just add also that this clerk knows nothing about your wife or yourself. Some random person commenting on my parenting skills would have made me disgusted and I would not have bought anything at the store and I would have continued to share my disgust with others. As they say, an unhappy customer tells someone who tells someone who tells someone... I do have to agree that I personally would not react as your wife did. Again, this is someone that does not know me. Tick me off, probably, but the truth is they do not know the truth and any comments they make should be shrugged off.

Today I noticed that one of the newer designers, Victoria Hagan, was marked down. I picked up a beautiful pillow because I didn't want to chance it not being there for another mark down. -
I always wanted to get my daughter one but instead, we got the American Girl dolls too. Those we have not regret one second.

Thanks guys for the info in the difference in marking down items. I am taking a vacation this week and have visited 3 Targets so far. In the first Target, we found a wall hanging that my daughter wants, reg price 19.xx. The very first one has it clearanced at 3.xx. Of course I picked it up. The other 2 I visited still have it at regular price so I was thrilled I had gone to the first one! -

At most Targets they treat Clearanced items differently than regular items going on sale. I was just in my Target last week and a man came in with his receipt and asked about how his product went further on clearance. They knew the man as they had been chatting about how his kids were doing etc. Yet they told him they could not help him. That if the product was still on the shelf at the lower price, he could buy it and return the one he bought at the higher price. -

What to get my 80 year old Dad? ($100 limit)
scrabbler replied to mesarobins's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
My dad soon turns 78 and I ran out of time for a birthday present but for Xmas, plan on getting him a case of Jones soda with his pic on them. Think it runs about 40? I also may get him some of the personalized M&M's but we are torn of what to put on them. Those run about 40 also. I ran out of time for the birthday party which is this weekend so will do it for xmas. Since my parents, too, have everything they want, I thought something odd yet fun would fill the bill. -

You can only return the one you purchased if within the 90 days and you have receipt and purchase a new one if it is marked down to the lower price. In other words, if they still have one on the shelf that is marked down, and you have the receipt and it is within 90 days for the one you previously bought, BUY the one that is marked down, and then return the one you bought at the other price. Hope that made sense... -

Yes it was a black one! I loved it! And hubby did not find it so I had an uneventful shopping experience. Guess that will teach me for going on Friday instead of Thursday! I saw some sheets on sale but they were not high enough thread count and the price was still high also. -

I was waiting patiently for an ottoman to go from 50 to 75% off....today it was completely gone. Am making hubby check for me in a different Target...here's hoping it is still there! -
I got my son a wooden one when he was quite small. Put his feet in finger paints and put his footprints, his name and the date on the top of the toybox. After it dried, I put a resin on top and then I had a keepsake and a toybox. He is now 14 and the toybox is gone but the lid lives with us forever.

Simply stated, walking around the ends of the aisles, out of the main aisles of the Target. Most of the good finds, the odds and ends, are located on the back ends of the aisles. -

The Latte Home Cafe pods are considerably larger than the regular Home Cafe pods. In the Home Cafe, they require the other adapter. However, the regular pods are very similar to the senseo. -

Yes it looks like Thomas OBrien is gone from what I have seen. I see nothing new and everything from curtain rods to housewares are all on clearance. This morning I picked up 2 cotton blankets from Thomas, 75% off. I am using them as throws. I can see why they were still there. They are line dry only. -

The only negative about this helpful thread...you get so excited to get a certain clearanced item but cannot find any in your own store. -

You guys are not only incredibly helpful, but I could hear your voices in my head when I was shopping. I found one of the vending machines and I looked at it, looked at it...could hear you guys.... I walked away...thought about it and put it in my cart and now it is home with me..forever!! LOL I may go back in a day or 2 as ours had some bedding that was 75% off. Some of it may be a good buy to use as washable throws for couch and chair since we have dogs. So thanks everyone! I found a vending machine!! -
