Yes. You cannot take someone else's written word without their permission.

Because the internet is so open and public, people do not consider any possibility of violating a copyright law if they take something and use it as their own. Sorry that happened to you Miranda...people just don't think....

Substitution for a discontinued product?
scrabbler replied to Kara1204's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Keep looking then. We actually went to a high end Salon brand for a while because we could not find one cheaper that was similar. The only good thing about the Salon one is that it lasts forever! A little did a lot. Did your stylist have any suggestions? Usually they try so many products they can tell you what is similar.... -
Substitution for a discontinued product?

Have you tried to compare ingredients? My dh uses a similar product and when his favorite was disco'ed, we also tried many before he found one he liked. Before I bought, I always compared ingredients and where they were in the list. Closer to what his preferred was, the closer he liked it. We have ended up with the white version of Pantenes pomade. There is also an orange one. He prefers the white however. -
Best Buy No Interest Question
scrabbler replied to landdaisy's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
Not on computers typically. The latest time I think was 6 mos. A year or so ago, it was 18 mos or 2 yrs. We asked that question around Christmas time and although they didn't give us an answer, the next flyer had laptops/desktops for 6 mos financing. -

Certain customers have been getting them in the mail. They are a barcoded card that have several deals embedded. The cashier scans it and all applicable purchases/deals are taken off. -

One observation on GB items clearancing last year...I noticed that they went sooner. Two years ago, I got some great chairs etc at 75% off. Last year when it went 50%, I waited and watched carefully. The day I went back and it had just changed to 75%, almost everything was GONE! This year, depending on my schedule, I may buy some at 30% because there are some great things that caught my eye. I do not want to lose out if they go just as quickly this year. -
The newest washers can be found as top loaders, but no agitators in the middle. That helps the issue of not adding some after the load has started and stinky seals on the front loaders. The new top loaders are still HE so thus still use less water and less soap.

It always is up to the store but it just isn't worth it. Do you want to take the chance to get a record because you do something questionable and the store employee decides to make an example of you? -

help with cell phone carriers

For me, it has always depended on the coverage area offered where I need it. For that reason alone is why I stay with the provider I have. Unfortunately some of the providers in my area still have more dead zones or more roaming zones. -

I am not sure that it was clear about the Holiday however...if you have your receipt, it sounds like it may be more likely that you get the price you paid back. -

Do you see a problem here? (UPS tracking)
scrabbler replied to alimfp's topic in Deal Finder & Deal Discussion
I have a love/hate thing going on with the tracking from all the delivery companies. Too many times it says: At XX facility and it is magically on my doorstep! My latest is Live Lobster and assorted other goodies that was supposed to show up on Saturday...think its good today? -
The Santa thing can work in a variety of ways... If they go to a Church or a Christmas program at school in the next few days, see if someone will give them to the family anonymously. That way, the person giving didn't give them and she will directly get them but not feel any obligation. Hope it works out...what a great thing to do!

A list is a guideline. Shopping for a gift should be fun. But if I buy a gift that I am pretty sure the person I am giving it to will not like it, then why the heck am I buying a gift? Some people hate buying items on a list...it is like asking for something and getting it...it doesn't involve a lot of thought. Very true...however how is buying a gift for someone and then picking those things that they dislike greatly a good thing? My MIL always bought my kids presents in stores that we did not have in the area we lived. Then she cut off all the tags. I never understood that. She never asked sizes so the kids couldn't wear the clothes. I have a boy and a girl so the clothes weren't appropriate to the other one. So didn't she just give money to a store and give us a donation to Goodwill? This year, MIL sent my kids gift cards and one article of clothing. First year ever she attached a receipt. DS's sweater was too big and he didn't like it. Luckily I work in a town almost 2 hours away that has the store she purchased it at. So I attempt to return it. Not sure what she used to purchase it but I only got a gc. Son was not along so I wandered this dept store for a while to find something on which to use the gc. Finally found some stuff and paid my $10 extra and out I went. For DD, she sent a fleece vest in the color pink. My dd hates pink and my mil knows that. The receipt was attached to that one also but guess what? The store is 5 hours away from our home. I did email the store and they stated they have no time limit on returns. I guess we will see once the spring thaw hits. The ds son sweater wasn't so bad. But a pink vest for a girl that hates pink? So yes, I understand. It isn't that you are not thankful, it is that some people do not give gifts for the giftee....they give gifts so they look good. It is hard to be thankful when the person giving the gifts is thoughtless. And I get it this time of the year. I count my blessings daily. And I think that is one of the reasons, crappy thoughtless gifts hurt my feelings...cuz they weren't sent with love...they were sent out of obligation. Don't want a gift out of obligation...I would rather have nothing.

I am putting that Murine Ear Wax Cleaning solution in my dh's...LOLOL Mainly cuz he likes to look in the ahead of time so it is sort of a test... LOL

If you buy a DVD or a computer game from Target, it says some blah blah blah stuff about same item only if opened...because they don't want people using/copying the item and returning for a refund. Otherwise, the general return policy is in effect, which is 90 days.
-
If there was a NO OPEN rule on the toy, it would have noted that on the receipt. That is typically only for DVD's etc and still with those, you can exchange them if broken for the exact same thing. As long as it is within 90 days, it should be quite easy.
-
I should have added, you should certainly thank your sister for the gift, unless it was a gift to be rude. Thanking does mean giving a gift in return.
-
Giving a gift is from the heart. Thus giving gifts doesn't mean you receive physical gifts in return. I personally find the greatest gift I receive is giving a gift to someone who really wanted it..... I dislike giving a gift and getting "something" in return. That isn't giving a "gift". Instead, that is obligation.

Wow this thread has become really something! Customer Service is something that is rare nowadays but it is a lot because people expect everything! There is no longer common sense. If we wait too long we complain, if we don't get the answer we want, we complain...sometimes we complain about how we complained. Back to the op question tho... I think this original issue was more because the op had limited time in the first place. Obviously the best solution would have been to point out the sign while in the store, not call later. When you call back, the sign could have been removed and then it wouldn't be relevant or applicable to a caller. Yes it was rude of her to say a version of "freaking" but it wasn't direct to you as obviously the person wasn't smart enough to hang up the phone first so I certainly would not have thought a second thought about this. What you explained tho about the sale made perfect sense...you asked if such a sale existed and they didn't think so...then you asked if it would apply to something you previously bought and they answered it appropriately. Sometimes we just have to let things go. This CS rep didn't tell you to "freak" off. They just were frustrated and confused by your admission and didn't use the best judgement...however I bet they were under the age of 25 too.
