  1. Have you had any problems with yours? Personally I have not heard of anyone who has had trouble, but I know it's happening.
  2. That's not necessarily true...as said in posts after yours, not everyone is able to campout. What if you work at a hospital, an all-night restaurant, or anywhere that is open around the clock and you have to be at work? Or what if you're in the hospital yourself, or what if you got in an accident on the way to campout, or what if, what if, what if??? Really the true monster in all of this is Microsoft. They in no way should have released a system like this so close to Christmas without being able to meet demand.
  3. I understand people wanting to make money on selling them on ebay, and I'm thankful that we have that opportunity, but the sad thing is there are families out there who really do want it for their own, and their kids won't get it because the supply is just not there or they are unable to camp out. I am choosing not to camp out, but I most definitely also refuse to pay through the nose on ebay for one.
  4. I just don't know if it's worth camping out (for me at least). I just can't decide. For the most part, I think the smartest thing to do is just wait until all the hype goes away and I can just walk in and buy the darn thing!

    xbox 360 where R they?

Yes, I think you did say that, but I liked the link to that paper. Very interesting reading.

    xbox 360 where R they?

That is very interesting. I'm glad to see they encourage NOT bundling the product.
  7. Glad you were able to exchange your GBs!!
  8. I use mine a lot. It's an HP iPAQ rx3100. I'm in school and instead of lugging my nursing textbooks into clinicals, I take the PDA that has my textbooks loaded onto it!

    xbox 360 where R they?

I think it's wrong to bundle them like that with so many extras. I realize that I may need some of the peripheral items, but I prefer to choose my own games. They're making it unattainable for a lot of people.

    Playmobil Toys

Thanks everyone. I still haven't decided if I'm going to buy it or not. I know my TRU sells Playmobil, so I may check and see if they have it and what the price is there.

    Playmobil Toys

He's five. I know they had those at WM on BF for $10, but I didn't get it b/c I didn't know he had an interest. Last year all he asked for was a mop, a broom, and a toy zoo, and he stuck with that all season. LOL

    Playmobil Toys

My son has several pieces of Playmobil toys, but his newest request (AFTER I am done shopping for him!) was a Playmobil Noah's Ark. Since we have several of the pieces, I know they're not cheap, but I was still surprised to see it listed at $69.99 on Playmobil's site. Plus, have any of you ever had to put together Playmobil toys? Yikes! Last year we didn't open the zoo until Christmas Eve after he went to bed. It took myself, dh, and my teenager THREE HOURS to put it together. He specifically asked for the Playmobil one (we have the Playmobile Advent Calendar and a picture of it was included in the brochure), but I wonder if I could get away with a less expensive one. Here it is... http://store.playmobilusa.com/is-bin/INTERSHOP.enfinity/eCS/Store/en/-/USD/PM_DisplayProductInformation-Start;sid=ewBasgILMthapkGdprRWlMw5PL_Tujlb7Sk=?ProductSKU=3255&CategoryName=US_storefront&PLS=0

    xbox 360 where R they?

Last year I wanted to get my son the Delphi XM MyFi, but it was a very similar process to the 360 - they weren't available!! What I did was print out a picture of it and give it to him on Christmas and tell him that when it came in he would get it. I was really disappointed to not have it for him on Christmas Day, but he really didn't mind. He had other gifts, but that was his big one. It's just a thought - and maybe one that will save you some money!
  14. I love the Butt/Face towel!!
  15. We watch that movie every year, and just watched it Saturday. It's definitely a classic around here.
  16. I like the idea of the hand cleaner! Another thought is a package of the Wash'NGo wipes. I keep wipes in my car and use them all the time. Another thought might be some tea bags. Hot water is available almost anywhere and it would be a nice addition. Oh, another thought...how about the instand hand warmers? They sell them at the checkout at my Wal*Mart and I've seen them lots of other places. Those things are awesome!
  17. That's a really pretty tree!!
  18. Yes, I think gift certificates are appropriate. There is a local drive for the homeless every year here. It is year long, but the gifts are given at Christmas. Each person gets a box that has personal items, gloves, socks, playing cards, candy bars, books, etc. I think other nice gift ideas would include a pillow or maybe a nice bag of sorts. You could package the gift in a new backpack or duffle bag. Let us know of any other creative ideas you come up with.
  19. Well, as long as some are asking for a million dollars, I don't think it's too much to ask for the answers to all my tests for next semester, is it? :) Really, I have asked for an oak coat rack for my kitchen. I'm tired of seeing coats laying all over the great room and kitchen. I bought myself an under the counter cd player for the kitchen on BF and it is already installed. A free thing I would like is one day a week COMPLETELY alone in my house. How wonderful that would be!!
  20. We got our tree today. It's a 7.5' Fraser Fir that we paid $79.50 for.
  21. We'll be buying TWO laptops in the spring for two of our boys who are graduating high school, but I'm not sure what all we'll be looking for when it comes time to buy. I'll want one that is good enough to get them through but not have all the bells and whistles b/c they don't use them for gaming.
  22. I got my confirmation e-mail today. Yippee!!!
  23. I certainly don't think that cutting down a tree to decorate our house is crel and wrong. The place we buy ours from is locally owned and is a Christmas tree farm. This means that the family that runs it makes income based on growing and selling these trees. I don't see a thing wrong with that.
  24. We usually go to a tree farm and cut our own, and we usually pay around $75 for it. I know it's steep, but it's a tradition. :)
  25. I heard here that the new ones weren't supposed to be part of the sale after BF, but I know that they were handing lots of them out at my WM that day. One of my friends got one of the new ones and had to have the manager come adjust the price at checkout as it wouldn't ring up $48.88. I was 2nd in line and could have gotten one, but didn't know there was a difference in the system itself, and chose the dark blue one just because I liked it better. Well, now I have the pearl blue one and it will be fine. I should have just taken it to begin with, but I didn't know. LOL
