Half of the people I buy Christmas presents for live far away and I see mostly only at Christmas. I have a tough time figuring out what to get them. Gift certificates aren't a great option. My MIL is hard to buy for too. She likes to have tea or flavored coffee before bed, so I usually will get her one of those and maybe a bottle of Kahula to go with the coffee. Usually is appreciated. Good Luck!
