  1. I am looking for a set of Pokemon sheets for a full size bed. They must not make them anymore b/c I can't find them. The last set I bid on through eBay ended up going for $94, and they weren't even in the package! My son wants Pokemon sheets more than anything, but I can't see paying that much for them. If you know where I can find some, please let me know!!!
  2. I couldn't tell you how many each child gets. It all depends on what they ask for. I have a friend who has 25 boxes and she fills each one with a gift for each of her kids and then gives them Santa gifts on top of that. She said she's afraid one will think they got more than the other if she doesn't do it that way. I totally don't get that kind of thinking. We have cut way back with Christmas. Our kids are 24, 18, 18, 13, and 6. The 6 year old doesn't get as much as the others did when they were his age, but it's b/c we're much smarter now. Holidays are not all about how much stuff we can give them anymore.
  3. I don't know that we've ever talked about how much I spend at Christmas on all my shopping, but I also know that it's not an issue for us. I guess if I was overspending it would be an issue. Honestly, I don't even know how much I spend. I know some people are very even steven with their shopping for their kids, but I am not. If one wants something that costs $100 and the other wants something that costs $150, I am not going to go buy $50 worth of stuff to make up the difference between the two. I want the kids to ask for what they want, not just stuff to fill int he gaps, yk? I think doing it that way helps cut down on what I spend as well.
  4. Here's the thing...it's paid for and it sounds like you're going whether you want to or not, so you've just got to make the best of it. I would want to be home on Christmas as well, so I can definitely see your point. HOWEVER, from this point on, I would just try your best to make it a positive experience for everyone. Your daughter will be fine with it all as long as you're fine with it. You don't want her to pick up on your stress. Before we go on any cruise, I always visit the message boards at http://www.cruisecritic.com. There is most likely already a roll call board for your cruise and you can chat with others who will be on the ship at the same time as you. Perhaps some of them have the same concerns and can share how they will be handling things. I know how important traditions are, but it sounds like you're stuck for this Christmas. So, go and have fun on your il's money. :)
  5. I could probably tolerate wrapping if beer was involved. I can't stand wrapping!!
  6. I tried using one of those wrap things only to find out I was allergic to the adhesive. I should have known - I can't even wear bandaids. That's a great idea to use it to keep warm though.
  7. We use a credit card for everything, but it is paid off monthly. As long as we're paying it off monthly we figure we might as well take advantage of the benefits that come along with it. We even have most of our bills paid through that card directly.
  8. Unfortunately, I paid full price for a pair for my 6 year old who wanted them. He tried to use them, but just can't get the hang of it. I have a pair of size ones in my garage that have only been worn in my kitchen and in the garage a handful of times. I feel so stupid for having bought them!!
  9. Well, that really sucks! I'm glad you're sticking with it and getting it all straightened out. Just think of all the people who don't notice or don't even bother!
  10. I'm still waiting on a $50 rebate from Meijer on the iPod Shuffle.
  11. It says not available online, so I'm going to check when I'm out in the next day or so and see what happens.
  12. My son's friend was at WM last night waiting for one too. He got one. I asked how many people were in line, but ds didn't know.
  13. Hmmm...how about a Petsmart gc? Or maybe a Caribbean cruise. They're comparable, right?
  14. A friend of mine told me tonight that our local WM held one back for a friend of hers. She said her friend told them that her son would be extremely disappointed if he didn't get it, so they agreed to hold one back and call her to come and get it. They ended up getting their shipment later that same day, and they only got TWO in the shipment, and one of them they held for her. I have to admit I was ticked off to hear that, but on the other hand glad that she got one for her son who really did want one - she wasn't selling it to make money.
  15. I exchanged mine at WM before Christmas. I got one of the older ones and just went to Customer Service and told them I wanted to exchange it for a different color. It hadn't been opened, but I wouldn't think it would matter when you go to return yours. Good luck!
  16. Ds decided he doesn't want a 360 for the time being. He got a PSP and a video iPod for Christmas and says he no longer "needs" the 360. LOL He's playing N64 for the time being. He is spending his own money on the 360, so he wants to hold off and maybe even wait for the PS3.
  17. Thankfully we're not superstitious - we make our own luck and take our tree down when we're ready. For the record, however, all our Christmas decorations are down and put away!
  18. I don't think I got any great deals. I bought some wrapping paper at Target, and some lip gloss sets from WM for my nieces for next year. My big find of the day was when we went to Best Buy. Ds wanted to trade his iPod Nano for a Video iPod, which are sold out in most places. I asked the girl in electronics if anyone had returned any and she said no, but the girl at customer service had told me someone had, so the girl opened the case to check and there was one there. So, ds got to get his iPod (he paid the difference between the Nano and the Video).
  19. You could also do a treasure hunt. We did this one year with my oldest and had so much fun. The final resting place was the clothes dryer!
  20. Funny...I really want one for my son and can't seem to get one. Everyone who doesn't really want one is getting them!
