  1. So I was ready about a Tivo a couple days ago and it sounded good until I saw a line that went like this: 80 hours of SDTV or 20 of HDTV So would that mean that after the switch in February I could only get 20 hours out of my Tivo? If so than this doens't sound too great of a deal. I think it was at Best Buy on sale this week.
  2. If I'm not mistaken St. Elsewhere season one was on sale Black Friday for 9.99, I think it was at target.
  3. I was browsing the site earlier and found this, I thought about posting but would have been too late. I almost bought it for my mom who loves that show. I never was much of a fan, but almost too good to pass up at that price!
  4. I didn't get to shop like I normally do, thus is the reason I'm already posting. However, I went to Wal-mart at 5 AM and was back home by 6:30 (I debated about buying some stuff). Since I've been home, I've shopped for the first time on Black Friday! I've hit Circuit City and Target, and with only one person left t buy for, I'm done for today. I'm a bit sad since I had big plans to shop, but oh well. Among the bty I picked up: DVDs: The Bourne Ultimatium Transformers (with Optimus Prime Mask) The Beverly Hillbillies Movie Spider-Man 1 & 2 Spaceballs Let's Go To Prison (never seen it but for 2 bucks its worth a shot) Cinderella Man A Beautiful Mind Joy Ride Robots (with a free full length CD, for only 2 bucks) I also bought the Bee Movie online at Circuit City. Among other things I picked up included: A 5 in 1 card reader Lil Wayne's new album Thats just bonus stuff I bought besides gifts (can't say what they are.) I'm also hoping CC doesn't cancel that Entourage Season 4 mix-up yesterday! :)
  5. I just became aware of the youtube page. I subscribed and friend requested. I don't go there as much as I used to, but tend to head there time and again.
  6. Just a heads up for those shopping in Columbia, Missouri (not sure how many that is) but the Tribune will put the ads in their paper on Wednesday. Hope this helps the few in Mid Missouri.
  7. I was curious about their ad too. I'm not going there, but I'm sure if they have some good deals, I could talk some of my friends into picking me up stuff. I live about 100 miles away from the one in KCK, but one year I'd love to Black Friday shop in the Metro.
  8. Since we are on the topic of layaway, does KMart have a timeframe for layaway. If I bought a Thanksgiving or BF item would I have to pay it off by a certain time, or could I pay a little at a time. I saw Sears has this offer, but they have so many restrictions and I think you have to pay it off by Dec. 21 if I read right.
  9. I'm not majorly impressed, but I didn't have a major wish list like in years past. A TV is all I cared about, and I see a couple options, but other than that, DVD's are about it. With that being said, I see no major DVD sales this year. I'm actually a bit shocked since I figured that they'd make some deep discounts so they could start selling more Blu-ray at retailers soon. I liked Sears ad when I first saw it thought with the tires deal and the washer/dryer combo. I also like the XBox 360 deal at Best Buy, other than that nothing greatly impressive.
  10. I never played a guitar (I tried once) but I wouldn't think he would learn a whole lot by playing guitar hero. Having said that, I'm sure he would still love the game, it is very entertaining.
  11. Blu-ray isn't on my radar yet, as I don't even have an HDTV yet. I'm just curious when the movies will be more abundant and when they will drop in price. Unless its an all-time favorite movie I'm not really interested in paying 25-30 bucks for a movie. After I get an HD TV though, it will be open season for blu-ray!
  12. I noticed while going through CD's the other day I have over 20 Christmas CD's. Its a wide variety but the ones that get the most play include: Trans-Siberian Orchestra (I must hear it once a week during the season) Jingle All The Way Soundtrack (Its a good variety of classic and Brian Setzer) Dr. Demento's Christmas Album (it has Cheech & Chong, The Makenzie Brothers and the singing dogs among others and Stan Freburg and Weird Al). I also have Amy Grant, Relient K, and Sounds Of the Season cd's. One day I WILL OWN a Bob Rivers CD as well as Da Yoopers.
  13. http://kotaku.com/5069302/black-friday-08-sears-limited-edition-ds-colors A short mention of gottadeal.
  14. The two things that stood out to me were the 599 washer and dryer set, and the tires. Both items I don't usually look for on BF but I am strongly considering at the prices posted. I have been slowly wanting to build a tool collection but was fairly unimpressed at the prices.
  15. I have to request it off, not considered a vacation day or anything else, but I usually work Thanksgiving, I get time and a half Thanksgiving, and don't usually do much that day, so its a good switch.
  16. I thought Barnes and Noble had an ad out last year, but I think it'd be best to search whenever for a good book deal, I don't see BF as a great book buying day.
  17. Yeah in my one day of retail expierence, I learned quickly it was the shipping and unloading guys in the know. It seems slow this year to me as well, but I think its just because I haven't been as preoccupied with other things, so my mind is more focused on Black Friday.
  18. I was at the one in Columbia, MO and was in line for over an hour. I got there about 6:45 and got in line about 6:55. I finally got out of there about 8:20. It was awful. I usually don't mind lines on BF, because I understand its packed, but when lines DON'T MOVE AT ALL, then it get irritating. The clerks seemed very un organized, and lines were all around the store. I went to Best Buy right after, and was out in under 20 minutes (that included the 15 minutes I was looking for stuff). The lines are very neat at Best Buy, and the lines were neat. I admit it was after 8:30 when I got to BB, but if I'd arrived at CC at 8:30 I think I would have been in line well past 10. Circuit City usually gets the bulk of my business, but lately I've preferred Best Buy more, and after this BF, I doubt I go to CC at all, unless its too good of a deal to pass up.
  19. They had egg nog last year. It wasn't the best, but its the only one that I drank the entire bottle. I'd like to try these, as I have tried them the last two years. The Brussel Sprouts one was horrible. Turkey and Gravy was about as bad.
  20. Depending on where you live, I know that Nebraska Furniture Mart has deals. I'm not too sure on all the details, and I know of only two or three locations (Omaha, NE and Kansas City, MO). Also I would think places like Sears would have % off sales of furniture. I'm not too sure.
  21. I have been on here for 3 years now, but have been a BF shopper since I think 2003. So a 4 year veteran. Wanted to do it a lot longer though.
  22. I love Feliz Navidad. I cant get enough of it. I also like Trans-Siberian Orchestra, and funny songs too, like Rusty Chevrolet.
  23. I'd say 1947 Miracle On 34th Street is number 1. Christmas Vacation is also up there.
  24. I have to second Silent Night by Stevie Nicks. Just awful. I might be alone on this one, but I can't stand hearing Mahilia Jackson either. Really annoying.
  25. I said none of the above. Last year I think it was Ace Hardware first. I don't think Wal-mart will be first, and honestly, I bet Circuit City is leaked before Best Buy.
