  1. I don't think it sucked, I think it was more of a "there isn't much I need here" kind of thing. I think I was most excited to spot an Arn Anderson action figure. Though a couple deals I did like, I'm still hoping on better deals on a Roku.
  2. Talk about Lack Friday sales. This one really lacked. Usually there is at least two or three things in an ad to tell people about (who foolishly never visit the site). This ad has nothing I would mention.
  3. So is it safe to assume the special edition Roku is a Roku 1? Still not a bad price, I hope Amazon or Walmart matches that. Still looking through the rest of it.
  4. Not sure if this could be done, but have a caricature of Samuel L. Jackson and he say's "What's in your shopping cart?" Maybe under it say "Gottadeal! DO YOU SPEAK IT?" Another idea is BLACK FRIDAY: More real than fantasy football!
  5. Glad its out, but I'm waiting until the PDF is shown before I look. Keep up the good work Brad and all the rest of the guys putting in the hard work.
  6. I'm not surprised at the lack of 360 games, but since that's all I have,90% of the ad didn't appeal to me. Having said that I liked a couple things like GTA 5 and such. I don't know if I'll go on BF, bad ran into some bad luck online with them a few years ago and took a couple weeks to clear up, so I'll likely stay away from them. Nothing I could do without anyways. Though the urge of the used games is appealing.
  7. I always get excited to see an ad from Five Below, then realize I confused it with Tuesday Morning. I've never been to either, but I do have a TM store nearby. The closest FB is 150 miles away. One day I'll visit both. As for the ad, I'm not real impressed, but saw a couple things I wouldn't mind having.
  8. 99 cent CHEEZ-ITS! I'm there! Wait, I don't have one near me. As for the ad, I thought the pricing on some things would be a bit better, but still not a bad ad.
  9. To be fair its not like they jumped on the bandwagon, they've always been open Thanksgiving as far as I remember. I understand the reasoning for not shopping on Thanksgiving though. I like BF shoppers who stick to their principles.
  10. I wasn't as impressed with this ad as previous years. That said, I do like a few of the sales. The $1 phone is nice, as well as a couple other things.
  11. Congratulations to all the winners. I can't wait for the next contest.
  12. I've never been to a Jo-Ann's but have a couple within a good distance. Not a fan of percent off sales, and didn't see too much. I have been looking for sports team fabric though, so who knows, maybe I could find something I like if I'm super close to one of the stores.
  13. Yeah, not seeing anything there. None near me though so no big loss.
  14. Nothing really excited me, I was hoping for maybe more tools on sale. Then again I have plenty of tools as it is.
  15. Seems like a pretty good ad. I'm not real up with the Beats by Dre headphones, but that looks like a good deal. It also looks like waffle makers are the go to small appliance for stores to sell this year. I think the next town over has a Stage and a Goodys so I might be able to get something I wanted if I decide to.
  16. Not a bad ad, nice price on the Star Wars shirts. I might have to buy a couple for my nephews. I was hoping to find a couple 16x20 picture frames, so I hope a couple of those frame deals will include some. I've never done Michaels before but might check out online to see if I can get something.
  17. 1. Approximately how many years have you been shopping on Black Friday? My first one was 2002. 2. Do you plan to spend more, less or the same amount of money during Black Friday week this year? I plan to spend more since I couldn't participate last year. 3. Do you plan on shopping online during Black Friday week this year? Yes, hopefully a few more sites add free shipping. 4. How many people do you plan on shopping with on Black Friday this year? At most I would say 5, at the least 2. 5. If you could make stores change one thing about Black Friday besides opening times, what would it be? Good question, I think all stores should have maps and make sure they are correct. It would make it easier to get items. I also think it would cut down on some of the chaos. Especially on smaller items.
  18. Kudos to the winners! I always liked this contest because you can find things you would otherwise not see. I love the variety of this thread.
  19. I love hearing all these. So when do you think the "secret" was let out? I forgot about how I first heard about it, but like others I was hooked after the first time. It seemed to grow quite rapidly a couple years after I first started going I remember.
  20. As the title suggests, I thought I'd ask when everyone's first Black Friday was. I always hear about the good old days and such and I think I caught the tail end of it. My first Black Friday was in 2002. That year I only went to a local Walmart, but by the next year I was hooked, and a couple years later went to about 10 stores I believe. My first Black Friday was also when I saw the closest thing to a fight. Good thing I didn't need a Cabbage Patch Doll or else I might have been mixed into the fight.
  21. If all goes well, I'll be going out to some shops. If not, I will do like I have in previous years and shopping online.
  22. If I go it will likely be in Columbia, MO. I'd like to try the Lake of the Ozarks or St. Louis one year, but its not in the cards this year.
  23. Kansas City Royals Mini Pillow Pet I think for $10 this is a perfect gift to introduce your child to Sluggerrr and the Kansas City Royals. The child will become a Royals fan for life! Hopefully a life filled with many World Series Championships for the boys in blue. :clapping:
  24. I don't get nervous, but I had had some anxiety while waiting in Walmart for them to unwrap the doorbusters. I think its just the rush of the event itself. I have compared Black Friday to the Super Bowl to many people who have never done it. Not to say I've participated in the Super Bowl, but both require strategy and preparation so anxiety I think would be pretty common. People don't realize that Black Friday is a sport and really should be treated as such. The sales are equivalent to wins and losses and the doorbusters are considered the playoffs. Get the majority of what you've wanted and you've won the championship.
  25. Congrats to the winners. There were some really good captions.
