  1. THANK GOODNESS!!!! I can agree with the Kohl's craziness trying to be first in line, lol. I have already bought our Star Wars tickets. My son's birthday is 12/15 and 10 of us are going to the movie for his birthday on the 19th Can't wait!!
  2. All of the Garmin fitness trackers are waterproof. I went snorkeling in my vivofit a few years ago. I upgraded to my vivosmart and shower in it everyday (unfortunately haven't been back to the ocean, boo hoo). The vivofit has a year battery life and is great. The vivosmart is rechargeable and it also does bluetooth smart notifications when you link it to your phone. I am very partial to Garmin, they are great. I have converted a lot of my friends to Garmin as well. Many had Fitbits that crapped out on them and their Garmin devices are still going strong.
  3. http://d3t1dw6evd1rv7.cloudfront.net/514/1a_h1500_q80.jpg If you click on the offer you will see that what dgiesb21 posted is true. The fine print does say ANY movie. It is just a promotional gift card for 2 movies - they can't dictate what movie you choose. I think they just assume they will pull more fans for free Star Wars tickets. And I am sincerely sorry for you Stowasser - you will be missing the MOST EPIC movie ever
  4. My ds went with me this year. He is 14 (15 in 2 weeks) and has nice long arms to grab stuff for me now that he is younger and taller, lol. At one point I was frustrated by all of the people crammed in the aisles at WalMart and he just made the comment "push through them, that is what I have to do at school between classes". Wow - I can't imagine, but he said everyone wears their backpack at their school at with 2,100 students I guess the hallways get really jammed. I thought he might be a little overwhelmed but, nope, lol.
  5. That is true - I like to have it to price match. Plus having the ads for some stores is beneficial because they have coupons in them.
  6. We went by 3 gas stations, a Walmart and a CVS and nobody has their papers yet. This was at 7:30 in a big KC suburb. Where is the Kansas City Star??
  7. I just read the order confirmation. The second line states "we hope you enjoyed your shopping experience". I snorted loudly and woke my dh up. Really Microsoft? Nope can't say I did.
  8. Hallelujah, I DID it!! Finally after an hour and a half of continually pressing refresh this page I finally finally checked out. I actually cheered and pumped the iPad in the air a couple times. I feel like I have won the lottery, which is pretty sad.
  9. Same here. I keep trying to get through checkout and nothing. How is it decided who is getting checked out, because it sure ain't me.
  10. You will find the 12 month live cards for $35 right before and right after Christmas at lots of places. I bought my ds's last year through Newegg. In fact I have bought them at that price at the Holiday/New Year time for many years now. You can probably search the archives to see when those sales popped up last year.
  11. I agree. Many often feel like they are swimming upstream...... Corporate crap sucks.
  12. Christmas lights are going on the house this weekend, whoo hoo. It got really cold all of a sudden a few weeks ago all of a sudden and dh hates the cold. I was really worried I would have to crawl up that ladder in 20 degree weather to attach lights to our gutters. Thank goodness for a small break of 50 degrees before the temps drop again Monday. I will decorate inside after I take my final in statistics next week. Hell, I will be so happy that class is over that I will be drinking spiked eggnog while doing it, lol. Now I know why I skipped statistics - too many numbers.
  13. There are a few WalMart employees who frequent this board, and some spouses of employes (clearing throat). My dh works hard to make sure those types of things don't happen as I am sure many managers do. Not all are bad - every store chain has disgruntled customers. Simple solution too, if you don't like them then don't shop there.
  14. I think we have gotten better deals in years past. I mean last year we got a softball hitting trainer for our daughter for under $100 when it was selling on Amazon for $140 before. That was closer to Christmas though.
  15. I have the Garmin Vivofit. It is awesome and you can use a heart rate strap with it. It also sets a daily goal for you and you can join online challenges. The Vivofit has regular button batteries that last a year without charging. The band can hold data for upto 3 weeks without syncing and it also will track your sleep. You can get it for $80. And I also believe you get what you pay for. Pay a little more for an established brand that is well designed with a company that will stand behind their product. That is why I am a Garmin user.
  16. I am pretty disappointed in the lightning deals so far. I mean - they put down that so in so item is 50% off - but that is off retail. We all know that Amazon doesn't sell at the MSRP. One item I was maybe interested in - said 50% off then I went to the page and saw that actually it was only a $7 savings from the amazon selling price of $29.99. Not exciting deals to me.
  17. I know that one Walmart here in Kansas City honored a price match for $50 - really? What manager would say that is ok? I have been told they will not honor the marketplace sellers on Amazon anymore - just sales by Amazon as the seller.
  18. We are not usually organized - but I also fall in the category of if we were it would take FOREVER because I usually buy so much. I do usually do the wrapping paper themes. We do not wrap Santa gifts - usually they are too big and/or are already assembled (bikes, ride on's when younger - now computer chairs and desks).
  19. I like to find little things that are meaningful. My kids always need earbuds - we don't buy real expensive ones My boys are in scouts and always need flashlights. Multi-tools are good for them too. Axe and cologne is good. Xbox point cards My dd likes beanie boo's so she will get one of those. She likes make-up - that goes in. She wants Tiger Beat Magazine. Xbox point cards My dh gets his smaller items in there too - cologne, any jewelry I get him, small tools. All stockings get candy.
  20. I would not say we are sheep following. Most people would obviously prefer that the sales NOT start on Thanksgiving - however I will maintain my same statement - many people cannot afford to not shop when the sales are offered. If the best price on the Xbox One is going to be during the Thanksgiving sale then I need to be out at that sale buying that Xbox One. Because the $50 I save will be $50 more in my budget to buy my kids another gift they would like. The more I save the more I can get what my kids want for Christmas. I spend my whole year telling my kids to either work and earn money for what they want or to wait until Christmas. Christmas is the time I will buy them what they want pretty much unconditionally (within my budget). I need those sales to buy the gifts I want to buy them. It is unfortunate but necessary for many, many people - and stores KNOW it. That is not sheep mentality - that is just necessity. Also I would complain more if restaurants or movie theaters were closed on Thanksgiving. But they are not - people still eat out and employees there need to cook for them and wait on them. People still go to movies and people still have to sell them tickets, make their popcorn, start the movies and clean the theaters. I guess those employees don't need to be home with their families - but retail employees do? Seems kinda the same thing to me.
  21. Our TV downstairs has the home theater but no game systems are allowed on that. The TV's for the kids rooms won't have home theater systems and in my family those are the one's with all the HDMI stuff to plug in. I think my oldest son has his computer in a port on his TV along with his Xbox One and the Xbox 360. My daughter has a Wii, an Xbox 360 along with a blu-ray.
  22. This is exactly what my oldest son did. He got the One but still has his Xbox360 hooked up too. His friends do all have the One but they also play 360 a lot still too. This is why the number of HDMI inputs comes in handy on your TV's -
  23. So would I be able to get the Master Chief bundle and add in the AC Unity game as the extra? Do you think they are allowing another new game as an add in?
  24. Can anyone tell me what the AC games are worth each and what the Master Halo game is worth? I know the 12 months live is usually $59 (but we can usually get it around $34-$36 on sale this time of year). I just want to make sure I am getting the best deal value-wise, if that makes sense, and I am being lazy Is that Wal-Mart $379 deal a good one? Is Master Halo a new game? He likes the Halo series. Thanks, Nikki
