I ordered my DH a slot machine this year, and it came yesterday...so of course I had to inspect it to make sure it works!!! It was fun! I hope he loves it!

UGH! I swear every year, I will just buy gift cards for next AFTER I ship all of our boxes to family/friends!!! So far shipping has been a little less, but not by much. i will be shipping DS gifts home after Christmas, since airlines now charge for luggage. So far about $100 for 4 boxes!!

I saw a sing somewhere that said " If you don't beleive in Santa, all you get are socks and underwear." I loved it!!! My dh has used it a few times already this year.

I did have my kids start to draw names this year, since 2 have left the nest, and 2 are still at home , to try to make it easier on all.

Well add my sister to the list of "people not doing Christmas" , again! She has been off and on for 16 years when my neices were 6 and 1. I have always tried to send fun stuff to the girls to try to make sure they have fun, but this year I am just frustrated. I hope even though they won't be "doing" gifts there are many happy times for them this season.

I hate to admit I am excited for the sales AFTER Christmas ...more than BF!! Maybe it is because I live in such a small area, and I only have Walmart, and we can't have that ad yet!!LOL! Anyone else looking forward to the "After" sales too?

I shop at Gap/Hollister/American Eagle/Abercrombie and Dillards. Occasionally Kohls for Levi's and shoes. I have boys and know what works for their builds and what will last a little longer. I actually had back pockets fall off of new jeans I bought at Walmart when they were little. UGH!!!

My hummer will take me again this year...I too live in SNOW and ICE!! Hopefully all of us will have a safe day!!

I think this is going to be a big "need" this year. Our local city coordinator said the amount is ALREADY doubled, and it is a month away from the application cutoff. A few comments have been made in our area that people are getting on the list, who don't really need it. And the ones who do, never ask. I am ready for our donations to "toys for tots", and I am hoping to get a stock pile of "bath and body works" stuff for the teen girls. I am not coming up with many ideas for the teen boys yet. Someone else donates a book for each child. They shop for a coat, toothbrush, and a huge box of food per family.

I really try to purchase a couple of gifts every month so I can focus on our kids when it gets close. I would do your best this year, and then plan even farther ahead the next year. I know it sounds crazy, but make a list of everyone you give a gift to, and see what you can do throughout the year!!!

This is a tough one for me/us. Some years it has been so "off"!!! One year I did the new suv in the drive way for my dh...keys in his stocking. I wish we could come up with a solution, but he doesn't like rules!!LOL!!

I am constantly going through closets, and dressers. I am trying to limit the amount of toys this year, as the boys aren't really into them. I find myself in the same situation!!

My dh gets ticked at kids(young 20's) are out Trick or treating. I try to just go with it, but I hope my kids are finished by 13-14 at the latest.

Might want to check on your homeowners insurance company before you buy to see what they require. I just read on msn about problems with them. I grew up with one, I loved it but I know they can be a liability issue.

20 miles for which last year took me over an hour to drive on icy roads!!

Even after our event was closed last year...a few days before Christmas there were still high school aged boys left one the tree that no one had picked yet. I cried when I saw it, and my Dh told me to grab another one. I scramble for a few days. and was worried I would never get the stuff I ordered here in time. I ordered a parka from Old Navy and told them why I needed it fast, THEY GOT IT HERE!! I used Endless.com for shoes for overnight shipping, just a lot of resources I have picked up over the years from all of you here. All the Amazon toys from the great sale last year will go out to sub for Santa this year. Our list so far for kids is already doubled in our community, and the applications haven't even all come in yet. So for me"THANK YOU" everyone for such great deals that I can pick up all year to pass along!

I am wondering because so many that I want will be coming out, and I would rather have them shipped to me instead of driving 20 + miles in the snow just to grab one!! Who do you order from? How is their shipping times? Do you have to wait a week for it to arrive after the release date? TIA

The saddest thing I think I have seen on BF is when I was in line(the back of the line) to check out in our Walmart, a young couple had a cart of toy "Door Busters". She turned to look at something and someone walked away with her cart....just took it, full of their Christmas gifts. I tried to help in the situation...but it was complete chaos. I have had things taken away, out of my cart, but nothing I needed. My MIL had a habit of grabbing door buster toys are walking around with her cart asking late comers if they need or wanted them. It can bring out the not so nice in people...and the nicest all in the same day!

I am guilty of buying all year. In fact I am so close to being "finished" for around 60 people I feel really good. That includes my boys, but I still love to enjoy the stores and all the displays!! We ended up with only a couple of inches of snow, and it is supposed to warm up a little, so I will decorate for Halloween next week!!
