  1. Thanks for the replies. We'll be shipping via UPS since the box will be huge. We enjoy playing Santa waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too much.
  2. This may be in the wrong forum so mods, feel free to move it if need be. I have a question about model car glue. We are being a Secret Santa to a 10 year old boy who has requested a model car. Now I am just about positive that we can ship the paint but I don't know about the glue. Does anyone know if you can ship glue VIA UPS? Thanks in advance for any replies.
  3. Probably because of the scheduling changes, at least that is my guess.
  4. Yes they did too. I visit a Walmart associates site and it was all over the board. My cousin also works for Walmart and she told me the same thing just minutes ago. I would still check the time with my local Walmart just to make sure, mainly because of the last sentence in that copy and paste I posted.
  5. I visit this one site, which shall remain nameless and they are saying 10PM. BUT This is a copy and paste of the last sentence in the post: This is from my Divisional so it might vary depending on what part of the country you're in. A person might ought to check their local store between now and then.
  6. Making an ocassion of the event with my hubby. Yeah, I still like to sneak out on a date with him, even after 42 years of marriage.
  7. Ours is 41 and we still do the stockings. He would have a calf if we didn't. As long as the spirit of giving is alive, you know who will live also.
  8. Thank you for caring. We do this every year. We have already started shopping for what had better be the 8-10 year old boy we requested. We'll get the clothing part of his gift as soon as we get the sizes, which should be in the next two weeks. We have so much fun shopping for the child we get.
  9. We just got back from Walmart. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to get everything I wanted but was very pleasantly surprised to find everything that I had planned on getting. They were not a bit busy, seems that the mad rush came this morning at the time we originally planned to go. Like another poster said, I found it strange that the lay away fee was a seperate transaction. We didn't pay $5 either, it was just over $4. Maybe we got some kind of seniors discount?
  10. We have in the past gave that type of gift but that stopped. These days, instead of the big get togethers, we just get with whoever it is we are exchanging gifts with out in a restuarant. In the past, we have bought small gifts for people we don't really care about. That's over too.
  11. Our Walmart has more stuff out now. They have a small display of Christmas Trees and I noticed on the shelf, they have some of the bigger outdoor decorations. They usually set their Christmas stuff up in the garden area but so far, nothing has been put on display. I am thinking that they will move the bigger stuff out to the garden center because it is now set up real close to the door that goes out there.
  12. The only Christmas thing I have seen at the Walmart I go to is dog toys.
  13. The link worked fine for me. Thanks so much for posting, BigJim. I thought the store on Montgomery Road had closed and just found out on the site that it is still open.
  14. I never find really good clearance deals at the Walmart I go to like a lot of you folks do. And yes, it's a super center. They have toys sitting around from last year, dust on them and still only a dollar or two off the regular price.
  15. Already made my first stop. I stopped at CVS on the way home from work and picked up that Zone 60 for the little guys name I got off the Angel Tree. Also picked up 3 good smelling jar candles that were on sale 3 for $10. Next stop, Walmart for the 12:01A sale.
  16. Crazy as it may seem, that Zone 60 at CVS. I had been looking at it for an Angel Tree gift and it was a bit out of my price range at $79. They will have it for $19.99 so now I can afford to buy it.
  17. Toy R Us. Don't care if they are selling the hottest toys 2 for a $1, wont go there. One year, we went into a local Toys R Us looking for a gift for a friends son. We got turned around so we stopped to try to figure out which way we needed to go. What we didn't realize is we had stopped right in the middle of a check out line. Some woman cussed us out royally. We put the one item that we had found down and got out of there fast. OMG, I thought that woman was going to sock us for sure.
  18. Can someone give me an opinion on either of those Home Theater Systems? Which one would you buy or would you buy neither?

    Angel Tree

We do an Angel Tree child every year, sometimes more than one. Most of the wants on the slip of paper we get are for things like clothing, outerwear and boots. What they hope you will do is include some toys and games, which we always do. I guess we spent about $200 on the child we got last year. God bless those who bring joy to a child(ren) on Christmas morning.
  20. Oh my gosh, those Doll Houses bring back fond memories for me. While neither was like the two shown, I got two one year for Christmas. My Mom got me a ranch style, my Aunt Ann got me a two story one.
  21. We don't do an exchange. There was just too much "drama". Last year, those of us who chose to, gave money to our supervisor to buy a gift card for a needy family. I am thinking that we'll do the same this year because of the bad economic times.
  22. I don't work for Walmart but I have family that does. According to my one family member, she has not heard one thing about it and it's too late in the year to put a layaway area together. I can't figure out where they would put a layaway at the Walmart we go to unless they take out that site to store area and I can't see them doing that as it is very popular around here to use the site to store.
  23. I plan on doing some shopping at Kmart this year. I have been seeing some items already that I haven't seen anywhere else. We were lucky with our Kmart as it stayed nice and clean and has good customer service. I am also partial to that Joe Boxer brand.
  24. Yeah we do, but not quite this rumor. It would make sense, in these hard economic times, for them to bring the lay away back, just for the holidays.
