Any reason you don't want an MP3 player? I had a Sony and a Philips MP3 CD player, and neither of them lasted more than 6 months.

I believe that Sears offered their BF prices starting at about 6am on Thanksgiving day. I'm not sure if they'll do that again this year, but I think I'll try to see what kind of deals can be found on-line Thanksgiving day, and hopefully cut out a lot of stuff for BF. Nothing will be in-store, though, unless I can convince my wife to go for me. :)

I've been using a PNY 256mb compact flash card in my Canon S110 for 3 years. I know they make budget memory cards, but flash memory has no moving parts, so if it works on day one, it should last a very long time.

19" LCD w/12ms response or better. Possibly in Oct or possibly BF - portable laptop for my wife. We bought the non-hard drive version to duplicate DVD backups of some servers to store them on multiple off-site locations. They have worked flawlessly for us, so no worries there.
