  1. Black Friday is what retail stores call the day after Thanksgiving. They usually have some items at excellent prices, and decent sales on a lot of other things. It's one of the craziest shopping days of the year for retail stores, hence the name Black Friday.
  2. Yes, there will be. One thing Brad said that the BF site will highlight this year is the online stores where you can get the items for less than the B&M stores on BF. I'm counting on that, since I'm working Friday from 6am - 1pm.
  3. If only Buy.com would allow their coupons to be used on book, this could be a decent deal.
  4. Small Electronics, power tools, and sporting goods. Usually, I find a lot of Christmas gifts then, so I'm not going for the big ticket items.
  5. Ebags.com Looks like they have a good selection. Don't ask me to make a recommendation, though.

    Pregnant on BF?

My sister-in-law took her 5 month old son out in one of those front packs when we went a couple of years ago. My wife went with her to the less crazy stores, and my BIL and I went to Best Buy and Circuit City. We actually let a pregnant woman in front of us get into BB without the line pushing, because my BIL and I are decently big guys. I don't know if I would advise against it or not, but definitely protect yourself or bring some protection along. I think the BF crowds either bring out the best or worst of people.
  7. That's even worse than shopping on BF! There is nothing left in the stores and the shoppers and cashiers are all really crabby. I had to find 1 gift the day before Christmas last year, and it was horrible. They ended up getting a Barnes & Noble gift card.
  8. A lot of the retail stores around here are open 6am - noon on Thanksgiving day. The Chinese restraunts stay open all day.
  9. That won't happen anymore. I like to leave about 1/2 hour early for work on BF just to drive by the stores and see how many people are lined up. Last year I drove by BB at 5:30am, and the line was well winding through the parking lot. I'm guessing there were around 200 people there waiting to get in.
  10. 2 years ago I went out shopping and we got in line at 5am. Best Buy and Dick's Sporting Goods are in the same area, so we split up (2&2) and got everything we were all shopping for. We we #16 & 17 in line at Best Buy and my wife and her sister were 5&6 at Dick's.
  11. They carry the Creative Zen Micro 5GB mp3 player for $199.98. Add a cheap filler, and you've got it for ~$160! That's pretty good.

    BF Ad Matching

I do it all the time. Although, I believe Circuit City is starting to not allow PM on items that they have rebates on. That type of price matching will kill a lot of potential deals if other places follow suit.
  13. Not at all...I have to work Friday, so I'll be shopping online. It wouldn't affect me, anyway, since I live within a couple of miles of anywhere that I would shop locally.
  14. I'll have to pick a couple up on the way home tomorrow! Thanks.
  15. I'm usually up early, anyway, during the week, so I like to see what sales are hitting their websites. If I still need to head to the stores after that, I will.
  16. I like to get a bunch of shopping done for Christmas. Usually, it doesn't cover everyone, but I can find a lot of deals for most of my list. I always try to find one big gift for my wife and I to enjoy, although we always end up using it before Christmas.
  17. I have a set, if you are interested. If you send me the info of the school they are going to, I'll send them to the school for free.
  18. You also get a 1-year at home warranty and Norton Internet Security for 18 months. Like I said before, the cost of this system is over $600, even with the Dell EPP program, so it's really not a bad deal. If they gave you the processor, memory, hard drive, battery upgrades for free they would be losing a ton of money.
  19. I'm guessing it's just a gimmick, mostly. The HD is pretty standard. The combo drive is too. The wireless card is in fact an upgrade that they are including for free.
  20. I called my rep at Dell, and you can't get this deal with EPP, which for a mid-market company is an additional 12% . He said we could get free shipping on those models, but at the EPP pricing level. It came out to bet $614 for the Inspiron 1200 configured to the specs of this deal.
  21. http://www.zortam.com/ I haven't tried this program, but it's free and it looks like it automatically adds lyrics to your existing ID3 tags.
  22. WMP 10 allows you to do synchronized lyrics, but I guess it's not automatic. Seems to be more of a pain that I originally thought it was. It's possible that you could download tags with lyrics in them already.
  23. I know you can enter the lyrics in the ID3 tag, so you would probably have to use a media player that would get those for you (I know WMP does, now).
  24. The 60GB Creative Zen NX is only $209.99 after rebate at newegg. That's a lot of audiobooks! I know that's a lot more than the CD player, but it will save you a lot of space and probably give you better battery life. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16855102123
