  1. My mother loved bangles when she was younger, and during a move a few years back they were lost. She had surgery this summer and her tech wore bangles and that is all my mother could talk about. I can't wait to give her the bangles I found for her.
  2. Oh the memories I have of my mother playing with me and my toys. I can remember one Christmas morning I woke a bit early and peeked into the living room and there my mother was playing with the doll house Santa had left for me. Of course she said she was testing.

    Annual Bears

I stopped three years ago after realizing just how many stuffed animals I had collected, but before that I would buy one each and every year. Donated most of what I had, and haven't purchased another stuffed animal since. (Except for the Bath and Body Works Bear last year. That was a deal!)
  4. Nice idea!
  5. I never thought about reusing them. LOL Now I am trying to think of other ways to reuse them. I might just add a few reusable hints if I buy any to give this year.
  6. Last year, including gifts DH and I got for each other, we spent a little under $800.00. (Gotta love finding deals!) I would say without the deals we were able to find, the amount would have been over $1000.00.
  7. In the past I would buy five or more. I would leave one at home, take one to work, give one to DH to take to work, and whatever was left we would take to informal parties we may have been invited to for the holidays. Last year I didn't buy any, and people missed them. LOL I may pick up one or two this year.
  8. In the past over 70 people. I come from a very large family! DH not so large. We are cutting back starting this year. This year are sticking with close family, friends, and a Secret Santa from DH's work. The number this year is closer to 20, and we are making a donation in the name of our family to a local charity.
  9. Since we have decided to cut back on Christmas gift giving this year, we have decided to send more Christmas Cards than usual. I was at the post office a few weeks back, and the clerk told me that Christmas Theme stamps should be coming out soon. For the few cards we sent last year we used a plain stamp, but this year I am debating if I should purchase Christmas Theme stamps or not. I decided to make a poll to see what others usual do. TIA
  10. Last year I was lucky to find lots of the gift sets at WM after Christmas. I used them as gifts for games played during a baby shower. Everyone was so amazed at how much money I must have spent. I also picked up some great gift sets at Bath and Body Works and used them for birthday gifts, and a special gift to myself for saving money. I am beginning to love the day and week after Christmas just as much as BF.
  11. No don't feel guilty. Most of the bargins I find I use all year long as gifts.
  12. Yes I have the Perimeter Perusing at Target bug now! lol I found some great deals and yes it was a nice buzz. The Kohl's grandopening did nothing for my BF need lol but the deals I found at Target sure did! I love GottaDeal and the wonderful people here!
  13. I listen all year long!
  14. I found a TeleStory Interactive Storybook System today. It was on an endcap marked 30% clearance and had a price of $24.48. I wasn't sure if that was the final price so I scanned it and it scanned at $8.74! Of course I placed it in my cart, my oldest nephew likes Spongebob and that is the book that came with the system. Whew one more Christmas gift off the list! I also found books for the My First Story Reader for $3.74 normally $14.98 I think. I picked up a Sesame Street set to go with the My First Story Reader I bought last week for my youngest nephew. Now if I can only find a deal on a Story Reader for the older boys.
  15. If I received something that I know someone else would enjoy better, I would simple give the item to that person. (As long as they did not give it to me.) It would be a just because gift. I tend to not regift as Christmas, birthday gifts etc. Although I try and match gifts I give to others to that person sometimes I may "miss". I usually tell people that I don't mind if they regift something I have given to them.
  16. Hehe I do have a large extended family. You never know! I have set up my families first official marathon holiday movie date for this year. It will be November 17th. Just need to figure out which movies to watch that date. I am going to try get a few listed in this thread that I have not seen.
  17. I don't and believe me that makes a lot of people happy lol. But I sure do like it when people bake a little extra for me and DH. There is a former coworker who calls from time to time to ask for printing favors and before she even gives me the details I say yes! She pays me in cookies and they taste so wonderful!
  18. I am sure my plans will change. Last year my plan was to go to WalMart first, but after waking up late, and seeing the line I changed at the last minute. This year my pre-ad plan are... Kohls or WalMart first. A lot depends on doorbusters and type of toys they have for sale, and items that I may want from other stores that WalMart may price-match. WalMart or Kohls whichever was not first. I usually just have a first store then second store plan and maybe go to one or two other stores depending on ads. This year the only things left to get are toys for the boys and a few winter outfits for them. I may check out a few places for deals on DVD Recorder/ VCR combos, but I am still hoping to find one of those sooner than later. But of course the ads may change my plans if there are some deals I can't pass up.
  19. Those are great. My nephew saw The Smurfs and now my SIL is trying to find an outfit for fall festival. Amazon.com has Fraggle Rock seasons 1 and 2, but there might be other deals out there. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0009RQSSW (I hope the link works.)
  20. No kiddies of our own, but DH and I have already bought items for our nephews. We bought Cars throws for the two oldest, a My First Story Reader for the youngest, and for all three we bought shirts that have the following on them... "Help! Call Auntie and Uncle, Mommy and Daddy need a break!" We will search the ads for ideas, and of course come here. At Christmas they will be 4, 3, and 1!
  21. Kohls!!! I have never been to a Kohls, and we have one opening October 5th.
  22. Same here, but DH stays home and I am the one going out for the papers and a trip to Big Lots! I hope they are opened on Thanksgiving again this year. Okay my do over would be to not oversleep. I overslept last year, because I didn't want the alarm to wake up visiting family. I tried to use the alarm on the cellphone I had at the time. This year no visting family so the alarm will be set.
  23. I try to get started at 4AM. Mostly it depends on what I have seen in the ads. So far I haven't wanted anything that I would need to camp out for, but you never know what this year may bring.
  24. For the last few years I have gone alone. The earliest I have gone out is 4AM. I talk to friends and family on the phone, and I always meet nice people to chat with in line. I wear a jacket with inside pockets and I don't carry a purse. I have a little alarm thingie on my keyring that I take off and hold in my hand just in case. I like going out alone, because my time is mine, and I don't have to worry about others not wanting to go to certain stores etc. I like to get in and out. I like to know what I am going in for so I limit my time in the store.
  25. This year, since we have learned we will not have overnight guests, I will pick up breakfast, go home wrap gifts, nap, and later visit family in town family that we didn't get to visit on Thanksgiving. If family is going out to shop of course I will tag along. I am sure DH will play cards with family and friends as always.
