we usually (DH & I) travel from the inlaws house to the mall closest to them for BF. It is 30 minutes drive.... small town.... little battle for deals. Nothing we *need* this year. want a the netbook from CVS - actually, would like the TRU one, but I do not want TRU crowds.... Old Navy left the mall we usually go to.... now what? Do we go out? DO we just go to CVS? Do we brave crazy TRU consumers? Do we drive 1+ hours to go shopping in big cities? ACK

I asked for my refund by credit. I've received the email of the credit... have not checked my CC to see if it is back yet. They offered check, but did not argue re: credit.

they have the tags up on the trees at work! yay! I am sooooo happy they put them up before the BF shopping!

DH got the book - instead of the nunchuck - and asked them to return the finds to our credit card... he said it may take up to 72 hours... um. ok. rather they return to the credit card then send out a billion checks and run the risk of one or more bouncing.

We have a dual screen one I bought at walmart .... many moons ago that works like that. it was one of the BEST investments we've made! now that the kids are older, the unit goes in the back seat, and they can control it, but for many years we kept it up front.

Ha! I just got a call on my cell from a guy... wanting to talk to DH about a problem with his order... his name is one of the ship to/ bill to on amazon... course it is my cell... so he is at work.... and he NEVER answers my cell phone... wonder what they'll do if they don't get a hold of anyone....

I have not gotten a call yet either...

if she is old enough to know what only one gift means, then go for it.

Santa brought DD a cell phone when she was 11. We blocked EVERYTHING but phone calls... until we got unlimited texting. I still have internet and DL'ing blocked. she has NEVER abused it (it has been nearly 2 years) She only started bringing it to school at all this year when I made her because soccer was after school, and she needed to be able to get a hold of us in case of rain, or change of plans, or whatever. We use it frequently at sporting events... it allows her some freedom to go to the bathroom, or with friends, as we can reach her when we need her... and she can reach us. It was easy to add her to our family plan... and we haven't had a problem.

well... ON is usually our first stop... but we don't want this game... so we may not wait in line for them this year... . we are usually 1st or 2nd in the little store line.

Um... Cracker barrel has some blocks on a string... they are called fidgetz.... and they are a wonderful thing for them to play with... about 1.50 in cost... good stocking stuffer... DS used them and they kept him entertained at Tropicana field.... with ...like 30,000 people clanging cowbells... happy as a clam.

don't have a strict budget, and I have the flexibility to shop that way

I have still been having problems from home on my Mac - it is old, and I blame it... but, that said, it is just GD I am having issues with.... all other sites seem to work as they always have.

Do you live in a cold weather area? Hats, Gloves, Scarf for mom... otherwise GC to places for Pizza.. or McD's.... add dish detergent, sponges, and other cleaning items... things that are not covered by food stamps... tinfoil, saran wrap, baggies, ... I like the idea someone said about a blanket... new towels...

Our mall store opened at posted times last year... they were the only ones to open that early, and DH and I were the ones to tell mall security... they had no idea what time any store was opening.

we went through a friends church last year... it was 2 towns away, so I didn't have to worry DS would run into one of the kids and say -> I know where you got that! the pastor (revererand, priest, I don't know) got the list of ages, sizes and reqests. We brought the items to the church.

our grocery store has a gas promotion... spend 25$ get .10/gallon off gas.... it is good on GC for places like Best Buy, Itunes, and toys R us. .... so gift cards and discounted (or free, depending on how many you buy) gas!
