This black friday I vow to NOT BE SICK!!! LOL
-
I change quite a bit up until Christmas morning (when you are out of days to change LOL) At this time the only things set in stone are her "big" gifts (PS2 and laptop, both of which we already have here), an iCarly MP3 player, some DS games, wowee lion cub, and some zhu zhu pets. All of which are also here already hiding waiting to be wrapped. I do know I'm getting her an easy bake oven. After that I have no idea. LOL Amazon usually helps me change my mind often once their good deals start. hehe

30.00 or so? I've never really paid much attention but I'd say thats about right.
-
We were putting it up on T'giving and taking it down on Christmas (night) but last year it went up the 2nd(ish) week of Nov and still came down on Christmas.
-
On T'giving I cook so I have dh go grab a paper. Then once my parents get here and we start eating my mom gets out her paper and I get out mine. Then we go through figure out what we want (by then we usually already know thanks to gottadeal :) Decide what time we are leaving, where we are going first, etc. Then they leave and I set out my many layers of clothes and go to bed. This year will be different because I have to take hubby to work that morning and pick him up in the afternoon so we'll be out even earlier.

Wal Mart, Target, Walgreens

Yep, Happy Birthday to you too! :)
-
Its my birthday Saturday so Brad you can give me an ad for my b-day. (just kidding.. I know when you got it and can post it, you will hehe)
-
All of the Ace Hardware stores here closed this year (literally they were open one day and the next closed and gone) so I dont need that ad LOL But I did start checking more than once a day the last few days. It'll be soon and I kind of like them holding back a little longer. It means ads will start coming out crazy soon instead of one this week, one next week, etc. :)
-
Up until last year when Madison was old enough to be told- you open, it goes back- I did all the wrapping on Christmas eve. Last year and this year, etc they get wrapped and go under the tree once I get it up. I'll start wrapping the day after the tree is up and ready :)

All of our pets get gifts at Christmas. Even the fish got a new decoration and a can of fish food last year. :)
-
Target has always been really bad about that but 2 years ago they finally got a handle on it. Had cops there holding people back and everything. (not sure how it went last year since I couldnt go) We dont line jump but my mom is older so I usually hold our spot and she sits in the car until it gets closer to time to open (usually 20 or so min.) Shes usually just w/ me to steer the cart so its not like she's taking away the person behind us stuff. LOL

2008 BF Gottadeal.com Contests- who participated/won?
julz0420 replied to KrystalMae1231's topic in 2009
I won a shirt :) Brad had posted for us to do one task (he had a few options) then post picture proof you completed the task. And I was the first one who did one of those tasks and won :) I wear that shirt year round but really start wearing it very often now. Already had a teacher at my daughters school ask me about the site because of it :) -
If that happens it would come down to who has the better ad between Target and Wal mart. I always do wal mart first then target but I guess we'll see who's ad is better now. (if the 5 am thing is right)

Didnt read any responses but if your TRU is like ours then I would skip it unless there is a MUST have only can get there on your list- especially if you bring you kid(s) w/ you. It takes a nano second once the doors open the line goes from the registers to the outside doors. If you buy something you are guaranteed to stand in line for at least 1.5 hours if not more. No fun *eta* and our store the aisles are smallllllllllllllllllllll so its hot and stinky and icky and crowded. Seriously I would rather eat my own eyeballs than step foot in a TRU at all on BF. LOL

Yeah I agree w/ the other posters. I think the Wii will be readily available at Christmas.

1. In your opinion, what store had the best Black Friday ad last year (2008) and why? I had the most items saved on my shopping list from Wal mart last year. I was also able to ad match which helped out a lot w/ some of the other stores I knew I wouldnt be able to get to before what I wanted was gone (not that it mattered since I got stinking sick on T'giving and missed the whole dang thing... can you tell I'm still bitter about it?!) 2. What would be your #1 piece of advice to someone totally new to Black Friday? Dont let yourself get overwhelmed. What you need to do is just pay attention to store opening times and ads. Figure out what you want and plan from there. (and always, ALWAYS check in often on GD of course!) 3. Besides offering great deals, what else can a store do to get you to shop there on BF? Ditto on the freebies!! Even the 5.00 GC Sears gives (or gave) out was enough to lure my mom and I in back in 07. We wouldnt have even gone if it wasnt for that. And we both ended up spending some money, even after using our GCs. Something that wouldnt have happened otherwise.

I got the Lion cub. We got Madison the full sized White Lion last year and she loved it. As soon as the babies came on she didnt move from in front of the TV until they went off. LOL I realllllly love TSV (the garland w/ battery lights) but still debating on it. Loved quite a few other items also. Waiting around for Spongebob in just a few

Not that the forum is so busy but did wanna bump this up top since it starts tonight! Happy Watching guys!
-
We caught Home alone 2 when it was on the last week. Also I think Home Alone (1) was on at some point and Madison watched it. Oh and one day my MIL had it on I dont know what channel (lol) and there was an older show on The day they saved Christmas or something like that? It was about a wife and kids that went to North Pole city even though only the youngest still believed (well until they got there) I found out that they invited them because her husbands company was about to drill near them or something. Never did get to see the ending so I'll have to try and watch it again if I can ever find it on. lol

No they will be online, and its actually easier sometimes to order online cause their phone lines get bogged down when something really really popular comes up for sale. :)
-
My mom and I go every year. (well except last cause I was sick)
-
TY for posting that. I guess maybe they are trying different start/ending times? The last 2 years they've started it on the 24th around 6EST (I think it was 10EST in 07 though). Now I dont have to worry about watching until 11 my time on the 24th. hehe
-
It starts on the 24th at 6pm IIRC and runs until midnight EST on the 25. So its like 30 hours of all Christmas stuff.
-
Probably Wal Mart since they wont let Brad release it until like 3 days before BF anyways
