Black shirts. Or light grey. Love the idea of sweatpants (or yoga for the ladies ) Hoodies are a great idea also. I wore one of mine out finally last year (tshirts, never had a hoodie) . So long as it has the "if you can read this.." on the back, that would be great!!

I've always hit up Walgreens early on Thanksgiving and I do admit that I liked the hours last year since dh works at 2am and so I hadn't been able to shop early Friday since I had our son. However, I do miss the whole setting 6 alarms for 2am, calling to be sure my mom was up, heading out in the freezing cold with the Christmas music up and bonding with all the other freezing BF nuts while waiting for the store to open.

Anyone want to guess if the stores will continue opening on thanksgiving or if BF will return to... Well BF?? I'm going to guess they all follow along with last year. Hopefully not upping the hours any and I'm guessing the stores that held firm last year will fall in line this year. (At least most of them)

From what I as and what I was told, everywhere was crazy here in southern Illinois. Our Walmart was just as packed as it was last year, same with the super enters, khols, the malls, etc.

Kmart announced they will open at 6am on thanksgiving and stay open 41 hours. (I'm pretty sure it was 41 hours) it was in GMA this morning.

We have a small Walmart. I don't think they've ever carried fireplaces in the winter. Someone I know delivers there and said they have a ton now. I'm curious if its going to be a bf item

Can u get on Disney jr with it like we can the iPad? I'm looking for one for my 2 year old but I have to be able to get him on Disney jr. Lol

Dh- cant say. Seriously he is always saying stuff he wants and the one thing he maybe mentions in passing that I decide to get, he always guesses as his gift. So mums the word on him DD (9) she hates her laptop and really wants a desktop computer so she's probably getting that. We also got her an iPod and a new bow not sure past that DS (2) we so far have got him mater (ride on) a Thomas train set, scout reading dog and a truck that carries trucks. He is possibly autistic (go for testing oct 1) so I know we will get some puzzles. He has sensory issues also so maybe an indoor trampoline (he is scared of them but we are working through it). He will be the easier if the 2 to buy for. Oh I forgot. A tablet of some sort.

I think it'll be mid oct cause thanksgiving is later this year. I'm going to guess Oct 11.

Well I had been happy about the early start time but since I've now done the 8pm shopping thing, it was a bad bad bad thing! We got to our local (small, non 24 hour) walmart right before 7pm. The entire parking lot was full. No carts. All the items were already out and being taken. Just big ticket items were being held back til 8pm. I got the big ticket item I was there for (lol a bike of all things) and was ready to check out by 8:20pm. Only the line stretched almost the whole dang store! We waited in line for almost 2 hours to check out, only to find out once we got up to the front that even though all the lanes were open, nobody working was directing traffic so only the last 2 lanes were being used. The other 5 checkout lanes were EMPTY! WTHeck! Hubby said at 5am the lot was almost empty. Usually that is how it is. I mean we've had lines at 5am but its nowhere near what it was on Thursday. I hope they go back to the 5am opening times only. I heard the next town over had fights. It was nuts

Wal mart will have some of their deals online and they have a few tv deals BUT trying to shop for some of the "big" ticket items can be just as hard online as it is in store. You have to be quick or the deal will be gone before you even start to checkout.

Been to Walgreens twice already LOL Got some toys for the baby and some dog items for the puppy that Madison is getting for Christmas. Also got dh a gilette set and some wrapping paper. 1st trip was only 10.00, 2nd trip was almost 90.00 but I paid a little over 40 (and got like 3xxx reward points).

Thanks for the ad but the deals arent very good this year IMO. But IIRC, didnt Target say they werent really going for a huge BF thing this year and instead doing something more spread out over the holiday shopping season?

Well if I just had Madison, I wouldnt mind the old hours BUT I have Luke and nobody will watch him cause he is little and still wakes up at night so I LOVE the new hours. LOL Hubby works on Friday so I'll go out on Thursday and be home by 3am. I'll shop again in the am after the kids get up. But, yes I do agree it was more fun the old way. The excitement of getting up at 3am and standing in really long lines in the cold half asleep w/ a ton of other people was fun.
