  1. Don't (not closing) close here, they bring the palettes out 2 employees on each one at about 5:30, at 6, they cut the plastic off and run. The only bad part is they didn't move enough stuff IMO, there were 3 palettes of toys side by side in the smaller aisle right next to electronics....Zoo!
  2. Best buy (and ciruit city) have to have the crowds under control this year I would think. Do BB's have a suggestion box? Maybe we should go talk to the managers next time we're there and give our thoughts. The last two years at my Target, they had carts flipped over and lined up down the side of the building leading all the way to the 1 door that was open.
  3. craftsman wet/dry vac $29! until I looked at kmart and sears' sites... Magnavox home theatre is only $9 less than walmarts normal price. Hopefully it gets better.... Kmart has decent jewelry, at 70% off (after the hikeup) it's still a good deal.
  4. This page claims you can pick the first and middle name on newborns (for $199) http://72.158.8.218/Index.cfm?cfid=1402&cftoken=94198037&sRow=13&curCat=2 This one (same company) has tons of names, and it appears you can pick the one that looks closest to your child and name it ($170-$400) http://inventors.about.com/gi/dynamic/offsite.htm?site=http://www.cabbagepatchkids.com/ What name are you looking for?
  5. My WM has been doing this for about 3 months, except it's on a random tuesday every month. As far as I can tell, it's whenever they need to make room for new stuff, they heap all this crap in carts and line them up at the front of the store. To make room for halloween, Toys and electronics were clearanced, the next month to make room for christmas(y) dishes/household stuff, HBA and domestics were clearanced like this.
  6. Stungun is the best solution
  7. We use cellular one (windstream or some crap now) and tracfone, both work perfectly anywhere in the store
  8. Good luck! I've been searching on and off for months (size 10.5/11/11.5) footlocker has a TON of 17/18 Amazon has a couple 12.5, lots of 17/18 but nothing else.... lmk if you find any I wish they would just start producing them again, ther were VERY popular, especially during college football season (they are college team colors in case anyone was wondering..)
  9. Ditto, I've got everyone I know looking in 4 different states lol I'm usually one of the people buying them and putting on ebay, but it's a little different when I actually want one for the kids....I'm getting as many as I can (if any) and will sell at cost+shipping to anyone that wants from here.
  10. None at my costco I hate to even consider buying one, but we have a 5 month old now and he loves all the other wiggling, light up animals. I watched that video expecting to be annoyed like with the first elmo, but this one is hilarious, contagious laughter. We need a site for this like the xbox 360 availability online site :)
  11. yes HP WILL CHARGE YOU! One of the reasons I look to other brands if I can, they even go as far as to charge for a copy of your owners manual. Most computer manufacturers don't include cd's anymore, if they do it is just a ghost image of the hdd. It is a lot cheaper for them to buy 1 copy of windows and 10,000 licenses, than 10,000 copies of windows. Then they have to pay more if they are including the cd (Bill gates is no dummy! ) other than the charging for cables/cd's/manuals etc. they are the company with the fewest complaints that I've heard, I fix pc's and hp is the least seen brand. (the most broken brands...Any with the big thumb screws holding the side on, too easy for people to get in and poke things with a screwdriver:yup: )
  12. With the KB Toys, Toys R Us, Compusa, and now Radio Shack closing news..... We are woefully edging closer to a walmart owned world. (especially with the news WM will sell high end electronics to compete with BB and CC), ugh, the end is near......
  13. The one closest to me is usually busy, but they have the RS name only (Independently owned) so they sell higher end electronics than 99% of radio shacks. They are still the only place I can find components locally (resistors, capacitors, switches...that sort of geek thing) but otherwise, everything they sell is cheaper somewhere else. Unless of course you WANT to buy Optimus car speakers or some other garbage.
  14. http://www.steves-digicams.com/hardware_reviews.html Incredible site! I used it just a month ago to decide, ended up getting the canon SD400 They have sample pics taken with each camera, and if the camera can record videos, those are on there too! (there were a few videos, that seemed to be missing large portions of the file, really bad skipping in the video i.e. the sd400, but I can tell you it takes amazing video for a sub $300 digicam.) http://www.steves-digicams.com/ forgot to mention, forums, buyers guide etc. Wal-mart here just yesterday got the ok to mark down around 18 deleted digicams 20% !!
  15. limit of 5 now, but not available for shipping
  16. Here are the reviews, seems everybody is happy with quality/speed. Get one while you can! http://stores.tomshardware.com/rating_getprodrev.php/product_id=9684640/id_type=M// As with ALL laser printers, you do get defective toner cartridges, when you open a new one (or ESPECIALLY a refilled one), shake it around a bit, inspect it for cracks etc. The printer manufacturer DOES NOT warranty against bad toner cartridges. If you get a leak in one and get the printer insides covered with toner, you're pretty much SOL. (almost impossible to clean for the average user, requires almost complete disassembly).
  17. Any digital camers or sony psp games? As always thanks in advance :)
  18. Have you tried to return it? Just wondering what the policy is. When the nintendo ds first came out most stores were not taking returns/exchanges due to dead pixels, they were telling people to send to the manufacturer (warranty). Hope it's not the same for monitors/tv's
  19. 400:1 contrast ratio, average. And 16ms response time, NOT good for gaming, good price for regular use though. (16ms response time will give ghost images in fast moving games, impossible to use playing online games.)
  20. I've never had problems with phillips products. Just read the fine print on the return policy and get some kind of warranty, even if it's only a 2 week warranty. Leave it on for a couple days straight, if it makes it you should have no problems.
  21. Yes, replacing the dvd drive will fix the problem. You can get them on ebay for 15-30. A new one from an online store for about 45 Or you can just buy the laser for about 25 (a little tougher to change, have to open the dvd drive) It is no harder to change it out than to swap one out in a computer. This is the site I used, it has all the links you'll need. http://www.llamma.com/xbox/Repairs/xbox_dvd_repair.htm
  22. Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe - Smart man, you can get it for about 170 online. The cpu chip will be anywhere from 150 (1.8ghz)to $850 (Dual Core 2.4Ghz 1mb lvl2 cache) depending on the speed he wants. The most popular (and plenty fast) is the 3700+ 2.2Ghz for about $220. (I run any game on the market on the highest settings with no problem with that chip) This will be for gaming? If not there's no reason he would "need" that motherboard. (probably shouldn't say that :0) And remember that motherboard CAN take 2 video cards! (which I imagine is why he wants it, same reason I did :)) (if you are buying them for him they MUST be IDENTICAL cards.) If you need any help pm me :) Almost forgot, add about $40 for a really good fan, these things get HOT
  23. Do you know the model #'s? Unless he's building a server the Motherboard won't be near $300, and if he's going to be running a server, the cpu chip would be around $800. lmk and I'll send you some links for the cheapest prices on the net.
  24. Sony says before E3 2006, which is May 17th. Most of the rumors are late march so I would thing you could preorder it sometime by early Feb.
  25. Just normal shipments IMO. Best Buy had them on the 18th, and the 23rd, TRU here got 9 of them on the 24th. But my buddy's preorder from EBGames (oversold) won't be there until the 2nd week in Jan. They told him he could get a refund to buy it elsewhere, but no discount or store credit or any other compenstation for their incompetence.
